Michelle Rodriguez isn't to bad.

Good choice, but Sonya is white, not hispanice, although Michelle has the perfect personality for Sonya. I'd definately take her over Hess, despite the race difference (which I think should be overlooked, regardless).

Again it seemed that way with Wilson b/c she was not trained before filming. She only rehearsed the fight scenes and that was it. Don't you know that? Not being able to fight well was not the reason she didn't come back for MKA. It was b/c she read the script and didn't approve. It isn't that she can't fight well. The only reason Hess looked stable at fighting was b/c she was trained before filming started. So it's likely (originally) she was no better at fighting than Wilson before she was trained.

The T3 chick? Well I looked her up and they keep telling me that she is Kristanna Loken, the same girl who played Taja in MKC. What a small world!

Hess's fighting skills were much better than Wilson's, but Wilson's acting and her attitude made it seem like she was a good fighter even if she didn't actually show it on screen. if Wilson returns, i'm 100% sure her fighting would be better. look at the chicks from charlie's angels. they only trained for a couple of months and they looked like they had been fighting all their lives.

I thought the girl from MK:A was sexxxy as hell, even more so than Wilson. Sonya is a boring character anyways.

I don't like Trish Stratus.
For me its either Sandra Hess or Bridgette Wilson. I probably lean more toward Hess but both are very good. And alsom people say Hess is bad but the whole f*cking movie was bad. The script was awful. If you've ever acted you should know its hard to get a film with a terrible script to get going.

Ok I had to step in and voice my opinion because Sonya Blade, no matter what some mortal kombat fans think, is NOT a boring character. So its only right that someone plays the role that is qualified and mostly everyone can agree on. I've read every post and considered every actress everyone thinks should play Sonya Blade, and even though this is my opinion i do believe most of the true mortal kombat fans will agree with me. My thoughts for who should play the movie go in order from 1 to 9(1 being the girl who should play Sonya above the rest and 9 being the girl who would be the biggest let down)

1) Bridgette Wilson - I'm sorry, but her attitude made too much of an impact for me to think that she wasn't the best person 4 the role. Everyone makes such a big deal about her fighting skills when everyone mistakes the Sonya in the movie for the Sonya in the video games, meaning she's not a character who's supposed to do backflips off of walls like Liu Kang as everyone expects her to do. She's married....and that's just like about 40% of actresses out there in hollywood? So who cares. She's honestly the best for the part. Period.

2) Sandra Hess - Before everyone starts to get on to me, I just want you to know that I'm not ranking her # 2 because of her acting or fighting skills. It's because, another Sonya would confuse some fans, and altogether it would just seem weird. If it wasn't for that, believe me she would be on the end of the bench.

3) Hudson Leick - Sorry again, but besides what some people think. I wish she would've played Sonya in every MK movie. She's on the same level with Wilson. She can play the badass role better than any other girl, and the girl knows how to fight and has plenty of acting experience. When she acts you can just tell that she's got some kind of dark side. Which is exactly the "X factor" that Sonya's character needs.

4) Kristanna Loken - She's really in a tie with Milla Jovovich, the only thing that made me choose her over Milla is her main picture on IMDB( the one with her hair tied back and the black shirt) she looked like an exact replica of Sonya from the 1st movie. She can act obviously, and from T3 u kno she can fight. Plus she's had experience, from MK: Conquest! Which means she knows a bit about the story of MK at least.

5) Milla Jovovich - Like I said this could go either way. I could see her playing Sonya well. She's a great actress and depending on how you look at it, she looks pretty much like Sonya. The other reason I gave Loken the edge over her was because of her status right now. Take a look at what she's doin....She's goin up the star charts like crazy, there's no way she's gonna take a risk on her rep, by playing a part that the director(Paul Anderson) of her million dollar making movie Resident Evil, quit on a long time ago.

6) Sarah Michelle Gellar - She would be okay for the part. She handles the badass attitude pretty well as well as she fights, but she's got pretty much the same case as Milla Jovovich. She's a star studded actress with plenty of other offers, but I'd predict Gellar to accept the part before Milla.

7) Trish Stratus - Ok, now heres where it gets heavy. Acting in wrestling and acting in film is a whole nother universe. Two people to pull it off successfully already and thats Hulk Hogan(retired) and The Rock(Dwayne Johnson). She's a little too top heavy also if you know what I mean and even on wrestling she walks the line between being a bitch and badass. You make the call.

8) Michelle Rodriguez - In reality, she does the badass part of the role, just as good as Leick and Wilson do, but it remains the fact that she doesn't look anything at all like Sonya. It would be just too weird to see.

9) Cristina Applegate - Looks like somebody watched way too much Married with Children. Ok....Can she fight? Has she fought in a movie? Badass attitude?....If you think she's still qualified for the part, think about those questions a little more and maybe you'll understand where I'm coming from

I agree with Reptyle83, that chick from Resident Evil would kick ass as Sonya in my opinion Michelle Rodriguez is one of my favorite actresses, because she always pulls off that kickass-badass so well. But I dunno if she'd look good with blonde hair.. makes me kinda wish Sonya was dark haired

i'm hoping that girl from the fist movie but i dought she'll do it again i think she did great in mk the first movie
