I hope for something like that too. I'm afraid if WB does it it will turn into more of a flashy film like their Batman series, which is good don't get me wrong but pretty long.

The only unofficial sequel to the movie that exists (and would be great to be remade into live-action, minus the kid-stuff 'Kombat Time" stuff) is Defenders of the Realm, which has been described as an unofficial sequel to the first film as it leaves off where the film ended pretty much and even converted movie scenes into the cartoon, like the Sonya vs Kano fight.

Well, you're viewing of it is wrong because they covered both Scream 4 (R-rated) and Hangover 2 (R-rated) and they mention every major movie, music album, tv show, etc., to come out.

A search in Google showed Fox News only had a video. A video doesn't constitute mainstream news and definitely doesn't live up to the year of Mortal Kombat, as declared as 1995 by Midway, for those of us who have been following Kombat popularity.

Personally i think Legacy has been pretty good so far considering the budget and the short episode times. I think I’d have to agree with the rest of the MK Universe that the Kitana & Mileena sucked but i can see why they did the episode with cartoon inserts. I think they would have blown the whole season’s budget on that episode.

Some of the alterations eg. Raiden’s was a little weird but added a cool and refreshing spin on things.

I really hope that this leads to a movie reboot with a decent budge and maybe a couple of actor shuffles eg. Sonya!
Personally i think it’s going to be pretty hard to put everyone’s detailed storyline into one movie. So break it up into a few.

there was plenty right and awesome about the series, and plenty wrong and wtf about it too.

my main issues from it stem from the timing and pacing of the episodes. there were plenty of areas that were longer than they needed to be (sonya's escaping from her confinment as just one example)

by far the worst thing though has been raiden's episode. I'm sorry, if you're making your character an actual god, then the very idea of a god, a GOD, being taken down by a drug in a psych ward is absurd. even worse, we never saw any sort of reaction out of the doctors when they discovered blue shit in raiden's head, or when he went pop and dematerialized.

all in all, i'm sorta in the middle about the series. there was lots of great stuff, but lots of things that didn't work for me as well. I'm just glad they didn't do a lui kang ep :P

You go out from the idea that all gods are as the Christian deity which is omniscient, omnipotent. Not all gods are powerful, the concept of deity does not include or warrant power in most cases.

Case example: deicide in polytheistic religions. Many times over gods are fucked over, killed, humiliated by humans. Athena by Arachne (the goddess of handmade industry humiliated by a human in a contest of weaving), Orion stumbling onto a naked Artemis (in both cases it ended horribly: Artemis being a vindictive bitch turned Orion into a stag and let his own bloodhounds devour him. Athena left Arachne to hang herself then turned her into the spider. Hence arachnoids.) just one case of the seemingly all powerful representation of an idea is not as powerful.

And Raiden is not originally a deity on the level of Amaterasu for example, he is basically a demon who brings thunder and lightning with his pal Fujin and likes to drum.

Again. Gods are not always omnipotent, or omniscient. Hell, even Buddhist deitistic images are subservient to HUMANS themselves in the long run...being figments of an illusionary existence thus once one realizes it, ultimately fake, powerless and nonexistent.

MK Legacy hasn't been all that bad, and I think with a wider budget it could be much better.

I mean yeah some stuff was stupid, I like the Raiden in a psych ward ep (my least favorite) and some dialogue was corny as hell (first ep when Jax says "Fuck protocol!" still makes me cringe).

But on the whole it had some very good moments too, I mean the fighting scenes were solid, the music was done well, and considering their budget they did an okay job at illustrating their own interpretation of the MK universe.

So I wouldn't call it a total fail at all, but I wouldn't call it a triumph either. I'd call it a good start.

I agree im mainly just angry they called sindel "Queen SINNDILL" and searously none of the characters look anything like the character there playing! Plus Sonyas not girly enough in Legacy she does have a girly side

I enjoyed the Scorpion Sub Zero episode....I enjoyed the Raiden Episode in parts.

I enjoyed the figh scenes only in Johny cage, cyrax-sektor and then Jax's vs Kano...... but other than that I did not enjoy the series on a whole.

O.K. they had 10 minuits an episode.....but it wasnt 10 minuits of entertainment even for someone who skullfucks MortalKombat like myself.

And when they called Sindel, Sindle oooh that ground my gears.

Legacy's 10x better than that godawful POS MK:Annihilation

I mean I agree with almost everything you said. I think it is ok.. That is all. I have only watched a few episodes though and I am pretty baffled about Baraka. He looks like a rat lol. And they made Scorpion Asian which was weird to me because they show him as being white many times. I am not suprised that Sub-Zero is in Legacy because he was presented Asian once but never Scorpion!!

While I certainly didn't like or enjoy EVERYTHING about MK: Legacy, I think it is pretty safe to say that it did not fail.

It didn't really feel like the true MK that it should have been, but, it was an incredibly well done and bold attempt. Legacy did well and it delivered what it promised it would deliver and what I expected it to deliver.

Seriously. I think it was great for what it was.

I'm not really a fan of the director's style or vision, but, many of his decisions were cool.

I hope they finally make the movies happen.

I agree with you on Rebirth not being impressive but I feel Legacy is awesome. It might be as good as Conquest...
