I'm happy with the roster even though it's not perfect(for me). I miss Smoke, Rain, Reptile and Mileena. These 4 would make it perfect. It's still possible they are DLC or at least some of them but if not, it's still good enough. I have like 7, 8 main contenders from the base roster, I think I'm gonna be fine.

A well... everyone has their favorites. The chances that everone makes the cut is just low, because the MK universe has so much to offer. If you have this in your mind, you can be more satisfied with rosters which won't have your favorite kharacter.

I also miss Sektor and Reptile, but I like the roster. For me it is one of the best roster so far. Big guys, mutants, normal guys, fan favorites, some ninjas... there should be something for everyone. I would be really angry and bored to see in every MK game the same roster over and over again. No, please no. To develope a game and the story you need the courage to leave some favorites out. Maybe I see Reptile as DLC, maybe I see Sektor in MK12 again. It's fine for me. But it is important to give new kharacters a chance and I am so happy to see great new kharacters like Kollector or D'Vorah in MK. That would never happen if we would the same roster again and again :)

I had two hopes. Baraka and shang. The latter will more than likely be dlc. So yes, I'm happy.

I really only have one character that I desperately want, Li Mei, and she is definitely not in at launch so that’s a bummer. Aside from that I wish there were more 3D era characters in general, but overall I’m ok with the roster. *shrug* It’s ok, not great, but NRS can’t please everyone and I don’t expect them to pander to my taste.

No. It's pathetic. They basically just took MKX roster and swapped one portion of MK9 chars for the other (Mileena -> Jade; Reptile -> Baraka; Ermac -> Noob, etc. You got the idea).

So yea, DLC is the last thing that could convince me ordering this pile of dissapointment.

While the roster isn't what I would prefer, I am ultimately pleased for a number of reasons:

1. More than half of the new characters from the previous game returned

2. Skarlet (who would've thought?)

3. Less than half the roster are from MK1&2 (not by much, but it works)

4. The roster has a MKDA character in the roster OTHER than Kenshi

5. The amount of newcomers have been reduced

I'm hoping the DLC adds a couple of 3D era characters. It'll increase the likelihood of me buying them.

It all comes down to who's gonna be brought in as DLC. So far, I have mixed feelings on it. Really glad to see Noob Saibot coming back, Skarlet was definitely a nice surprise, and I'm glad they brought Baraka and Kabal back. Assuming that Frost will look and play differently from Sub-Zero, it's nice to have her as well.

Even though the roster is a step up from MKX, I still have some issues with it. For starters, we don't need 5 MKX characters, 4 are enough. D'vorah and Jacqui should have stayed off the roster, especially D'vorah considering her arc was pretty much wrapped up in MKX. Definitely cool with Kotal and Cassie coming back, and I'm a fan of Erron Black, but I wish they would have brought back Kung Jin or Takeda instead of D'vorah or Jacqui. I also think having one or two more 3D era characters would have been really nice.

Another thing I think would improve the roster would be the addition of an additional male "ninja" character to balance things out. Reptile is a fan favorite and deserved to come back for MK11. If they had included him, it would have been four male ninjas and four female ninjas, a good balance.

25 feels kind of small for a starting roster, especially as a follow up to MKX. If they added a few more slots (28 slots total including Shao Kahn) and got rid of some of the riff raff, I would say it would be a perfect starting roster.

Also I know I'm fanboying a little here but I miss my homeboy Smoke. Come baaaaack.

I’d probably give this roster a B+. Only things that bring it down for me are too many military characters (again) and not enough 3D era representation.

Still, they have a nice group of returning MKX newbies (Erron, Kotal and Jaqui being among my favorites), some characters I like from MK9 coming back (Baraka, Kabal, Noob, Shang Tsung, Jade and Skarlet being among my favorites) and some interesting new characters in Kollector and Cetrion.

Hopefully DLC can do a solid job of filling in the rest. I’d be happy with any of Smoke, Fujin, Sareena, Kai, Reiko, Nitara, Mavado, Kira, Havik, Tasia and Takeda.

It's a decent roster. Nothing to dance a jig over, but it'll do. It's a solid enough start-

We have some great new characters(Cetrion, Kollector, Geras), the usual suspects(Liu, Johnny, Kitana, Sonya ect), The MKX returnees( Kotal, D'Vorah, Erron, Cassie, Jacqui), some fan favorites (Jade, Kabal, Noob, Baraka), and even a few curveballs (Frost, Skarlet).

If the DLC can toss in a 3-4 more 3D faces(across both Kombat Packs, if we get 2)- then we'd have an actual well balanced roster. But I'm not silly enough to actually count on that. Most of the DLC will definitely skew more toward Trilogy era characters- understandably. I've accepted that.

MKX's roster's main source of disappointment for me was they had a few no-brainers that should've been in the base roster (Rain, Tanya, Baraka, and Fujin-Maybe even Sindel too) and them not being there really watered a potentially exciting roster down to the point it left a bad taste in my mouth.

My top three characters: Scorpion, Raiden and Noob returning. HELL YES!

The revenants being revived (with past versions). About time they ended that arc. Specifically glad that Kung Lao is back properly!

MKX got me to like Mileena, and it seems MK11 is going to have the same affect with Jade.

I have no interest in the rest of the roster and am actually very disappointed in the lack of Rain and Fujin - while characters I actively hate are returning: Shao Kahn; Shang Tsung; Kano; the JacksonTwins.

Having 2 Cages, 2 Briggs and a Blade is just too much. I think 3/5 is plenty. Based on what I've seen, keep Jax and Johnny and Cassie and get rid of Sonya and Jacqui...just my preference. Really would have liked to see Sindel, Smoke, Fujin, Nightwolf, Rain and Havik. So if it were up to me, get rid of Sonya and Jacqui adding Fujin and Rain to base roster while adding Smoke, Sindel, Nightwolf and Havik as DLC.

Then I am the only one who is thinking that Cassie's gameplay looks boring as hell and Jacqui's looks like a lot of fun. Well everyone has a different taste.

No. I'm indifferent really. It's drab, but doesn't really stir any other emotion from me. But I think that more has to do with where MK is right now more than it has to do with what characters are and aren't in the game.

Overall I am happy.

Sad to see Ferra/Torr not koming back, I really enjoyed those two. Why no NEW/Ferra? Their (Simbiotic)Ending was perfect for this MK. I think NRS could have easily done another one.

I don't understand why everyone is so up Cassie's ass while simultaneously bashing Jacqui.

I agree, Jacqui has literally some of the BEST gameplay in the entire game- she's a beast. Most people are just salty she made it and judging her on that rather than her being an awesome fighter.

Yeah kind of happy with it, it’s better than MKX but to be honest in my opinion MKX had one of the worst rosters of all the games so it wasn’t hard to top that one.

Definitely needs some more male ninja representative; Smoke and Rain would be good to see and some more 3D era characters; Reiko, Havik and Fujin would make it an awesome roster.

i have high hopes for DLC but I did for MKX too and I have never been so disappointed in my life, I mean seriously Bo Rai Cho over someone like Noob??? Despite saying they listen to their fans I really don’t think they do but hopefully this time round is different

Say what you will, but Bo Rai'Cho is actually a solid 3D character we haven't seen in a while- so him being DLC was refreshing. Noob Saibot is in MK11's starting roster, that's better than a DLC spot in MKX anyway- besides, a classic character like him won't ever be down for long- so I didn't spill any tears over his absence.

My biggest issue was with the FOUR guest characters we had. No way did we need that many. If anything, those are the characters that prevent any other MK characters from making the cut.

I posted in another thread that a friend of mine at work,( who's not at all a hardcore fan- he started playing MKX casually) stated how he thought they overdid it with guests and that maybe they should cool it. He said, and I quote- "People who obviously play these games play them for the Mortal Kombat characters...so why not give them more of that?"

So no, despite what some will say, it's not just the "fans" who don't like having numerous guests. There's no reason why we should have more than 2 guest characters per game(IF we get 12 DLC characters with both packs combined) and even THAT'S being generous.

Eventually the guest gimmick is going to run dry. I hope it's soon.
