I'm feeling kinda indifferent about the roster, I don't hate it, but I'm not crazy about it either. This apathetic feeling is mainly due to the fact that it doesn't have my two favorite characters in it: Reptile, and Rain. It does have some characters Im genuinely interested in playing: Noob, Kotal, Shao Kahn, D'vorah, and Jax, but besides these 5 I don't necessarily care about the rest, but I'll definitely give the rest a shot. Also it really missed a great opportunity to add Fujin, and Havik. Kinda sad how hard Fujin got shafted in MKX, and everyone thought he would have made it to the main roster for MK11, but here we are. I would really love to have Havik in here, I pray to god he makes it in DLC.

I wasn't a huge fan of it when it started getting revealed, but as it's come to fruition, I kind of like it. It's a pretty iconic bunch, minus Baraka and Kabal who never got there as characters for me, but that's personal opinion. They are certainly very popular. The MKX characters they chose to make a return were good ones. I'm not entirely sold on Skarlet, but good for her. I like what I've seen from the new characters a lot.

No I don't like the roster at all but I do like the quality of the game it self and that is the reason I buy it.

You know, NRS and Ed always tell they want to do something new and different, but wy of wy do we have a Johny Cage then and Sonja Blade, loose them and try some different characters. I would love to see a new Havik and Fujin, or maybe a completly new Ninja.

O and while we are on the subject loose the story-mode, it's the (5th game in a row now with this style of story mode).

Wy not try to introduce Hornbuckle, make a character of him.

Its much better than MKX, that roster was just so bland I could not bring myself to play that game much. This roster seems really good and balanced. I had hoped on Rain, Reptile, and Ermac but I have a good feeling about this roster. I was sure Rain would have been in as an opponent for Kitana as it is obvious that in this installment she is going for the throne.

Since MKX I learned to be indifferent towards just about any sort of roster, honestly. Sure, I'd be happier if they included Reptile, Rain, Ermac or Quan Chi, but if they won't, whatever can my bitching change about it? For some reason, Boon half-openly dislikes certain characters and includes them as if only under heavy pressure from the fandom. I understand Scorpion's significance is greater than that of Rain, but why not add Scorpion AND Rain to the roster even though you may not like them equally? Again, I'm no longer bothered by the questions of that kind. I want Rain - I play MK9, MK Trilogy, or wherever he is.

The roster seems fine enough in that it doesn't include space-filling buffoons, though. All the new characters seem memorable and inspired (not that there's been a whole bunch of the new characters).

I mean I'm okay with it. But I was okay with it 2 months ago, when 50% of it wasn't confirmed and we didn't know any of the DLC either. That said... I see 2 tiers above "okay with it" ... one is reasonably perfect (IE. A Roster I think NRS realistically could have put together but didn't) and unrealistically perfect (IE. My 100% ideal roster, which would never really happen)...

Nitara would be in my unrealistically perfect game, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if she got left out of a roster that was only reasonably perfect.

THAT SAID... to get this roster up to "reasonably perfect" standards for me... it needs... Mileena, Reptile and 2 or 3 more PS2 era characters. Ideally I'd choose Nitara & Havik, but I'd take Li Mei, Drahmin, Reiko (I know, I know, he's MK4, but I'm not the first person to lump these together)... that would be a reasonably perfect roster for me.

Mileena & Reptile feel like the two biggest "classic" omissions to me. So if they were in, I'd have no complaints on the classic side. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it will kill them to miss a game, I'd just be all the happier if they were in. I'd love to play with both of them in character customization. And while I appreciate the presence of Frost & Fujin, the PS2 era games still feel pretty under-represented to me, so I'd love a few more of those characters. MKX feels well covered, I think they hit the right notes with returnees there. I'm fine w/ only 3 new characters.

BUT let's not lose sight of the original point here. Reasonably perfect is seldom achieved. So yes, I'm okay with it.

Right now we know of 9 DLC characters. If we got 3 more for an even 12, I'd realistically hope for Reptile, Mileena & Havik. I'd unrealistically hope for Reptile, Mileena & Nitara.

If the leaked dlc is true, then roster as a whole is meh. Game still looks great, roster is my only disappointment thus far.

I am not buying this game. The only ones I really like in the roster are Noob, Kabal and Shao and even now, when the DLC leak is confirmed, there are still not enough characters to make me HAPPY about the roster. Sure, Sindel and Sheeva were just behind Sareena and Ashrah and maybe Nitara for me, but the whole stupidity of overwhelming amount of guest characters clearly overshadows them for me.

What a roller coaster MK11's roster has been since January for myself. I was super pumped when the game was first shown, but my interest steadily declined as time went on. I was livid characters like Jacqui and Cassie made the roster, while others were oddly omitted (Takeda). Then, throw-in the Beran comments about censoring only 1 gender in the game (because he thinks equality is about applying different design standards based on gender), and a string of character reveals that have no chance of being my main(s), I began to contemplate canceling my pre-order. Luckily, the last batch of character reveals pleased me, and the Switch DLC leaks (Sindel and Fujin!) alleviated much of my roster grumbles. As of now, after the early release, the only characters that I have 0 interest in are Cassie and Sonya, who are both swings and misses -- maybe they will be spruced up in future patches. Geras I have very little interest in, but maybe his gameplay is fun. I cannot believe I am saying this after all my bitching, but even Jacqui looks worthy of a roster spot in MK11. I'm still not thrilled about her (I'd rather have Ashrah or Sareena), but they did a thorough job of revamping her from MKX, including her gear/skins.

Sure, I would love Havik, Ashrah, Smoke, Reptile, Sareena, or Rain instead of the the few characters I know I will barely ever play in MK11, but MK11 roster is strong, imo. When the game is launched, I don't know where to start as too many characters interest me, now, and that's a very good thing.

As for those that are disappointed, well, can't please everyone. I have a VERY negative opinion of MKX, yet others love it -- just how it goes. For those choosing to sit out for MK11, perhaps I'll see ya in Injustice 3, or MK12.

I'm satisfied, even more so now with the DLC. It's a well-balanced roster.

Sheeva may be as bland as she gets, but the last call for me were these guest characters. To sacrifice precious DLC spot for the ones like Terminator or Joker when there are so many "underused" native MK characters is beyond me.

Should have been all MK characters in the DLC and 1 guest tops. Chameleon could of filled for Ermac, Reptile, Smoke and Rain this game while they throw in favorites people want like Cyrax, Sektor, Sindel, Fujin, Havik. Nightwolf, Mileena. (I love Quan chi and Kenshi but they gotta sit one out and tekeda is fine for mk12). That would of made the roster near perfect for me. I want them to seperate Injustice from MK already... stop using the same outfit designs, same engine similarities, and stop crossing over guest characters.... Joker was a huge waste of slot and so is Ash williams. Spawn and Terminator make the guest list way too high already. Add guests when you have a solid fighting game that can cover your entire roster favorites first. This is the only fighting game I've seen and played where the roster is so random that you can sit a game out or wait for the next installment if the roster is better to your liking...

I love the roster. We have basically about three fourths of the Trilogy characters plus Frost, Fujin, Skarlet, the majority of the characters introduced in MKX, and three new characters who are all pretty solid. And unlike many people in this forum I'm not at all a guest character hater, and for me personally this is the best batch of guest characters we've had yet. The DLC just sealed it for me that I'm gonna freaking love this game. I'm sorry for you guys who feel otherwise.

Most of these people are selfish and are upset just because their favorite or favorites didn't make it in.

My two favorites- Tanya and Rain- are both nowhere to be seen and I'm still impressed with this roster because it's GOOD. I can look past my own personal wish and see that.
