When I've tried and looked past my own personal wish I still saw that wasting space for Joker, Ash and Terminator is unbelievably dumb.

I dislike guests characters. That's why I'm not buying them. I'm talking about the roster sans guests.

That's not dumb. All those characters fit just fine. Joker is a known murderer and dark character, Ash is a horror icon with a freaking chainsaw hand, and we already have robots in this franchise so Terminator fits as well especially seeing it's known for being an assassin. I will never understand the crying about guest characters here.

What's so hard to understand is also beyond me, especially when it has been stated more than once already. No matter if they fit fine or not. There are MORE THAN ENOUGH native MK characters that will ALWAYS fit better.

It's a non-sensical, whiny complaint. This franchise has DOZENS of "native characters". Even if there wasn't one freaking guest character in an MK game they'd never come close to featuring everybody. There's always gonna be plenty of people on the bench. A small handful of guest characters doesn't make that much of a difference.

I will never understand how you can not buy the game because of an roster. I play this game now for four days. I played almost every kharacter for two hours except Cetrion.. I never saw a better polished roster in a MK game. There is every type of kharacter you need. Some are fast, some are slow, some have great mid range, some beats the shit out of you if they are closed.

Which kharacters surprised me the most are Erron Black and Kitana. Erron has so great combo strings and so many dickhead moves. He is really an asshole, lol. Really cool kharacter. And Kitana could be my main, because she has many combo strings and nice combo potencial with even not using one bar. i can't wait to see which combos people came up with in the future. So, if you won't buy the game because two of your favorite are missing.. OK, i gonna have a lot of fun with the game. And I bet if you buy the Goty later you will think "why did I wait so long to play it".

Fighting games revolve entirely around their roster. If people are displeased enough with the assortment of characters, it's only logical they don't fork over the cash for the game.

My favorite character is in the game and I still think this roster is drab. Maybe if they had better art direction and character design my opinion would be flipped. Man Sub-Zero looks dull in this game.

You have the choice which of the 50 skins you would like to pick. HE has some good skins there. Well, if you get so disappointed about a roster than you failed because of your expectations.

Initial impressions:

Without Mileena and Reptile it feels soulless. Big hole. Not MK.

Too much Special Forces. Returning characters Kotal, D'vorah and Erron Black was a good move but Cassie and Jackie are overkill. SF are boring in the story too, talking of which, is rather childish for an 18 cert. Why do the evil ones have all the charisma?

Personally I liked the horror guests in MKX. They were fun and varied and preferable to 3d era bores like Tanya and Frost, so I'm looking forward to their inclusion.

New characters Geras and Cetrion(I've probably spelt those wrong, such was their impression) are Injustice style characters I've yet to warm to. Jury's out on Kollector.

This roster is absolute garbage, but I've bought the game regardless of that because i'm a fan of the Mortal Kombat franchise not just a handful of characters. I know for a fact I will find a character that suits my play style that's not going to be a problem at all. I think the inclusion of Joker is absolute garbage but it's fair and the precedent has been set before thanks to MK vs DC & Scorp and SZ both being featured in INJ1 & INJ2, Terminator feels a bit out of place but I can head cannon that away as him being a "What-If" Cyborg really happy to see Nightwolf, Sindel, Fujin & Sheeva though!

I have troubles deciding who to play first. That is a proof that the main roster is very good and I'm happy. But I'm less happy after the DLC leak. Guest characters are all good but I don't like guest characters in general in MK games. I'll probably buy Fujin and maybe Sindel but that's it. So no Smoke, Reptile or Rain but I still hope that at least Cyrax and Sektor are playable.

Bullshit. Nobody hopes for EVERY fucking character in MK history to make an appearance in a single MK game. That's not the point at all. The point is that even ONE guest takes someone's place, someone who will always have his or her fans and is demanded by them. BECAUSE THEY ARE MK CHARACTERS AND THEY BELONG TO THIS GAME. What's so hard to understand?

First I am not a fan of guest kharacters. In MK9 I didn't buy Freddy. But I can understand why NRS does it. Boon mentioned in MKX the best selling DLCs were the guests like Alien and Predator. So at least it is about making money. To be honest.. I can live with it right now because I appreciate the work and effort they bring under WB. If I think about past MK games under Midway... pfew... It was only about making as fast a new MK game as possible. So many MK games felt uncompleted.

No... Not having Reptile is one point but I admit that he at least was in the last game even if he was the least played ninja in both MK11 and MKx.

But not having Smoke in makes no sense... Not only he should be in the story like he was in MKX as one of Kang's but also he has skipped MKX and they should explain his Enenra stuff before erasing the story... Again

I was happy to see frost make a return, but from what little I've played with her, she's been kind of a let down. I know I'm going to piss people off here, but I never cared for erron black and was kind of disappointed he came back.

They're overdoing guest characters again, but thats to be expected, since NRS's only goal is to make money at all costs.

It would be much better if they could cool it with the guests and stick to new characters or bringing old ones back, especially characters from the 3D era that they could retool and give another chance with.

They explained Enenra rather succinctly in his MK9 ending. What's to explain? He was kidnapped by a cult. They killed him. He was resurrected as an Enenra. An Enenra is a demon creature of smoke and vapor. He had no memory of any of this between MKII & MK9. It's all right there in the ending.

We can then infer in MKX, since he calls himself Enenra that dying and becoming a revenent somehow brought his memory of this back, as the demon is seemingly now dominant.

All that needs explaining is why Enenra are refereed to as multiple entities in MK9 (as though a race of several demon creatures) and seemingly treated as a singular entity in MKX (as though Enenra is smokes name)... but I suspect that's just a mistake, and not likely to ever be explained, as... doing so would expose the plot hole. And NRS tends to ignore its plot holes, not explain them.

I am very happy with this roster! This is one of the best rosters I have seen in a very long time. It's tough to please everyone with fighting games, especially Mortal Kombat where there is so many characters. I think they did a good job at creating a balanced roster with not too many classic mk1-3 characters. As a fan of the more underrated characters, i'm pretty happy! Not only did Noob Saibot and Kabal make the roster, but Sheeva and Nightwolf will be DLC! I wish Rain and Stryker would have made it.

My only complaint is that it seems like they have no interest in the 3D era characters. Sure, Frost made it, but having only one 3D era characters is kind of dissapointing. Personally, I would love the see a game with Li Mei, Hsu Hao (Yes, I do like him, but he is also fun to kill too), Kai, Nitara, Ashrah... and a few others. I would also like more of the minor characters being playable. Jataaka, Kia, Tasia and No-Face are all characters in the MK Universe and it would be great to see them playable for once.

But the game is more focused on story and it makes sense for the characters that they have chosen. Maybe we will get another full roster game again someday.

I feel the roster is too small for it being the 11th game in the series. The base roster should have been at least 35 characters, rather than 25. There's still a lot of missing fan favorites and long-absent characters that have highly been demanded. But hey, we may be getting 19 DLC characters, so there's that.

I'm hoping for Rain, Fujin and Li Mei the most from that.

No, just no. Please not 35. When I start playing MK11 I was overwhelmed because there were 25 Kharacters and after almost two weeks of playing I only managed to play with three solid. I know k many people want a bigger roster, but I am not. I want a good balanced roster with kharacters from all timelines and great diversity.

So, I like the idea to implement 12+ DLCs over time. Because after a while everyone tried all the kharacters and adding a new one per DLC makes it more enjoyable for all. In MKT you could have a big roster without any issue, because the agmeplay way just basic and not complicated. But now you have many strings and special moves... That just would be to much to start with 35.

Tekken Tag Tournament 2 had over 50 characters, despite them all having so many combo strings. I think they could have put in a few more here without too much trouble. I mean, I wasn't asking for a roster like Armageddon's, for example.

I am really disappointed Shao Kahn and noob are cool but I was really hoping for reptile or human smoke. Ps.is reptile deconfirmed or no. he is the deciding factor when it comes to getting mk11
