Would be okay with Fujin (duh) but honestly speaking, since this is a timeline game, I would prefer at least one person from each game to represent.

He said he was guessing on Kung Lao since his source said he was not not playable so that means to me that it is fake. Overall this roster is really bad. Really boring with the same characters returning again. There is nothing exciting about the roster, justy pivoting on the MK2 characters again just like with MKX.

Dunno, I don't feel that "Kollector" is a fitting mk name, but also Geras and Kronika were to me.

Actually I don't trust this roster, but I appreciate the fact that he is putting his name and reputation on the line, so here kinda assumes responsibility for what he is posting.

For this reason alone while I don't believe this "leak", I tend to believe that it might be quite accurate

People complaining about Jacqui? Ok, but a single character doesn't make a roster.

Hope to see Fujin and Sareena, i love those characters, but doubt that they have the needed popularity to be in the main roster

It would shock me if this roster is correct. 3 new added characters isn’t much. Sounds like NRS are playing it safe. I’m still hoping for Mileena to make the cut as her and Baraka from the past coming back and killing D’Vorah is a no brainer in story mode.

I initially called BS on this, but one thing that sticks out is Jacqi and Jax. If you think about it from a story perspective, it’s a massive dilemma. Johnny, Sonya and Jax of the current timeline could potentially erase Cassie and Jacqi’s existence if they don’t defeat Kronika, but at they same time they could also set thing right so that Liu Kang and Kung Lao, Kitana etc never die, but at the cost of their kids potentially never being born.

I still think this is just guess work as this guy simply posted the JamesMK leak a few months after it was already leaked, but who knows.

Is it literally too much to ask for to have 4 characters from post Trilogy? Like say Fujin or Tanya to represent 4, Kenshi, Bo', Li Mei or Frost to rep DA, Havik, Ashrah or Hotaru to rep Deception and Taven or Daegon to rep Armageddon. 4 spots. Literally the rest can go to any Trilogy folk they want. Is it really that bloody difficult?

I'm suspicious of any leak that has Jax in it for two reasons. One, they were telegraphing HARD in the last game that Jax was going into retirement, be it dead or alive. Two, Geras is already filling in the Big Black Grappler archetype, and if they put Jax in as well then it's going to look like they're locked into a racial stereotype. I think he's more likely to be a cameo.

This roster also lacks a representative from the psychic trio of Ermac, Kenshi, and Takeda. One dude with telekinesis (or the potential to learn it, in Takeda's case) is bound to make it just because it's fun, and they put so much love into expanding what these characters can do in the last couple games.

Game Zombie also sounds really inconsistent about what kind of source he's getting his info from. At one point he says the information is "old." Shortly after he says he might have his "information crossed" and The Kollector might be a placeholder for Kronika... but how could that happen if she already has a roster slot? And if his source said Kung Lao isn't playable but Zombie added him anyway, then shouldn't there be an extra character who was meant to occupy Lao's slot? Why wouldn't this character be mentioned?

The leaks seem to be less and less believable every time, even for reasons unrelated to the content of the roster. This is so tiresome.

Oh sure everybody would love to have Jacqui Briggs back, make sure she keeps Full Auto Zoning as is too.

I disagree about Jax. He was the 9th most used character in MKX, out of 33 (?)

He's a big favorite of the public, and also seems to be a favorite amongst the developers (the only game he missed since his debut was Mortal Kombat: Deception, and was later added in the PSP version), though this may be due to the fact that he is so popular.

It sure seemed like they were trying to get him to retire, BUT with the time travel thing, the Jax from the previous timeline comes into play. Which is why I don't get the complaints about the old humans or dead characters being playable.

Shrug. Noob Saibot was 8th in MK9. Smoke, 3rd. Everybody loves Smoke, probably more than people love Jax, based on my subjective sense of the request/complaint ratios. Not so sure that usage stats are the criterion they're working from in character selection.

Why do fans insist on thinking once a character is bad, they'll always be bad forever and ever? Has no ever considered the possibility of Jacqui receiving further development? I mean really. Come on, guys.

Aside from that, this roster looks incredibly weak. Nearly half are characters from MK1&2, only three new characters from MKX, and only 1 from the 3D era. This is insane. I pray this isn't real.

Nor Noob neither Smoke are "staple" characters like Jax is though. I did mention that the developers may also be fans of him, which may be why he's so recurrent.

And Smoke wasn't anywhere near 3rd most used in MK9. I don't know where you checked that stat.

Do you remember what video confirmed Shao Kahn doesn't count against the 25? I haven't been able to find anything about that and I'd love to see it confirmed :)

If this roster were true I'd be pretty happy with it although part of me wants Goro included just so I can have some battles between him and Shao Kahn later.

To be fair, this mentality often applies to Netherrealm themselves. Characters like Drahmin and Hsu Hao were labeled unredeemable after just one game.
