i came on here reading from certain people how women are beneath them and how they can't handle themselves against this and that, you don't think as a female i would be pissed?
first of all none of you know me, none of you know what has happened in my past where i would not be alive today
i really don't care if people like him that's great go ahead and start a fight with me about what he has or has not done for your country it just bugs me that men (not all men) are like this and think like that like how dare you
also this thread was about a female boss who turned into why women can't be bosses and how in a game Kitana and Jade can't do this or that and can't kill Shao Kahn it's a game and i'm sure anyone could beat him easily once they get his/her rhythm down
If you're looking to enjoy your stay on the web, you might want to recognize that reacting when emotion strikes you tends to eliminate all sense of logic and your point is often lost in that emotional reaction. I'm not here to pick a fight with anyone, but I will stand up when I feel like someone is being irrational and can be talked down before they make a habit of volatile behavior. I won't bother with the likes of those who seem to be taking the simplest route of trolling. I've found that it's best to ignore those who make it a point to say outrageous things for the sake of garnering a little bit more attention for themselves. Otherwise, you're just feeding the beast.
I have never claimed to be familiar with your personal life or any of what you've been through. Not to belittle your personal hardships, but we've all dealt with our own. I've dealt with a lot of adversity, trials, and tribulations in my lifetime and I've battled through them to become the man I am today. If you allow your past to control you, you can never fully appreciate the present or look ahead to an optimistic future. I hope you're coping as well as one can. But, no one should feel guilty for what they say just because there exists the possibility that someone might be offended.
In this thread, at least two people (not getting into specifics) seemingly concocted stories about their present or past lives. I laughed and moved on from those (presumed) tall tales. Nothing on the internet should be taken so seriously that you're unable to react in a rational manner. You can't put out a fire by fighting it with more fire. That just exacerbates the issue. Basically, you can be offended by something all you want, but reacting in an equal or harsher manner doesn't make you any less wrong than your offender. Just sayin'.
Besides, those choosing to adopt the role of the crotchety, sexist internet troll make up the minority of those contributing to this thread. The only way they become the focus is if multiple users (naively) continue focus on the trolls as opposed to the topic of conversation. you are supposed to beat the game no matter what (if you chose to by all means) they all got their butts handed to them cause that is what the creators want from their players, they are defeated but never really truly gone forever, and it should not matter who are you playing it it's just a game so if they want a Human to be the chosen one who defeats the Elder God then that is how it written.
i hope she is just as cheap as the others were when they were the bosses in their games, but i also hope she will become playable down the road, anyways i can not wait to see how the game plays out

Lol. I don't know if you're misinterpreting what I'm saying or choosing not to read the entire comment, but at no point was I attacking you. Nor am I attacking you now, just to forewarn you. Given my history at this site, I have personal experience with trolling and being a bit of an asshole at times (while critiquing an art piece, probably). Having matured, I now have more patience for the intolerance and provocative nature of some, as I'm demonstrating here. So, combining those two attributes, I'm attempting to advise not only you but others that giving in to trolling is just going to create a bigger (and completely avoidable) issue. That's it.
Shifting focus back to the original topic of this thread, I, again, have zero qualms with seeing a female boss at the end of this game. Honestly, I never take these things into account unless there's an obvious attempt to be diverse just for the sake of it. Seeing as how MK advertises the bone-breaking, tendon-tearing awesomeness that is MK, whether the target of said violence is male, female, or other, I wholeheartedly believe that NRS is a far cry from having gone "SJW".

He wasn't attacking you at all, he was just pointing out that some people aren't worth the "fight" exhausting yourself (emotionally). And I agree with him. I've also been attacked alot online and fiercly defending myself... but after awhile it drains you and for what? For some narrow-minded people who have convinced themselves they have all the right answers and only their ideology counts?

As for Kronika, I already like her as a boss. Hope she has an interesting andpowerful moveset, and differs enough from Geras. Hoping they get rid of cheap AI-tactics.

Kronika should be a little cheap to where she frustrates players, Shao Kahn was cheap as hell i had my cousins or brothers or their friends to play the ladder for me to see the endings and they get so frustrated but keep on playing till they beat it, so i hope she is just as powerful and worse she makes Corrupted Shinnok and Shao Kahn puppies compare to her

It was shown in the story that Jade and Kitana are nothing for Shao Kahn, he could beat them with one hand. Liu Kang was the chosen one. The ONLY chosen one. And he earned that through lots of suffering and training.
Cassie just seemed to have it gifted to her just because she was a girl and NRS did it to attract feminine audiences.
Uh, no? Cassie was trained her entire life in Special Forces and inherited the shadow ability from her father. If you're gonna pull that Liu Kang is the chosen one bullshit, you have to at least be consistent. I can't think of any more fate-driven story than Raiden going back in fucking time, saving Johnny from death, Johnny defeating Shinnok and having a child with Sonya, that child inheriting his abilities and saving her father by defeating Shinnok.
Besides, we're dealing with fucking magic here. How is it that actor Johnny Cage + shadow magic means capable of beating Shinnok, but Special Forces soldier + shadow magic doesn't?

"Black Panther" was a "problem" because the media played it up to be the best movie ever made before it even made it to theaters. "Blade" wasn't a "problem" because it wasn't saturated in a movement that involved forced diversity for the sake of appeasing a vocal minority. Having witnessed the backlash of movies like the awful "Ghostbusters" 2016 reboot (which is no longer relevant in the franchise thanks to the announcement of a future installment that possesses no political agenda), I can say with confidence that I have never seen "Wonder Woman" receive any backlash from anyone but modern neo-feminists, whose complaints revolved around the absence of Wonder Woman's armpit hair.
Your female/male gamer statistic is tainted, inaccurate, and requires a bit more information than you elected to provide. Mobile games like "Candy Crush" are the primary reason females outnumber males in the gaming industry. If you remove mobile games from the table, then the ratio of male gamers compared to female gamers scales back to a more realistic 55% male versus 45% female. Mobile games are not games in the same sense that console or PC games are. It's the failure of the left to recognize and/or accept that there are drastic differences between mobile gaming and console/PC gaming that lead to the statistic that you chose to reference.
The majority of those who complain about alleged inequality in the gaming industry are the same people who complain about an alleged lack of diversity in the comic book industry. Some of those same people forced their way into Marvel and decided to implant anti-Semitic messages into one of their creations. The "SJW" version of superheros (female Thor, for one) have not sold well because those complaining about a lack of diversity are not seeking to become patrons of the industry.
"Battlefield V" has been a massive failure as far as profits are concerned because developers lied to their base. The developers claimed that they were creating the most historically accurate WWII game to date. Instead, they decided to dish out a trailer with a British woman who was battling on the front lines with a ridiculous robotic prosthetic attached to her arm. There were no women fighting on the British front lines, and there were no absurd prosthetics possessing the capability of working a firearm. Historical accuracy was ousted in favor of appealing to a barely audible minority and EA is now suffering for that (and much more, thanks to their unwavering dedication to microtransactions).
No one of a stable mind is fearful of "other people having their stories told". Everything you referenced is the stuff of fiction and should not be taken so seriously that a political agenda need be attached to it. That's when it becomes a problem.

You are taking statistics out of context. Those statistics include people who use mobile devices as gamers so of course there is going to be a near even split between genders. Everybody has got a mobile phone. However the vast majority of console and PC video game players are male.
Back to the point of this thread, does anyone here actually view Kronika as a woman? And I don't mean that as some sort of statement about her looks or androgyny, I mean functionally.
To me, she's just the game's the boss. I never really gave much thought as to what was behind Onaga's loin cloth or Blaze's speedo.
Actually, now that I'm forced to ponder these things, I think this kind of raises another question as to whether or not Raiden, Fujin, and especially Shinnok are actually male. We know the elder gods can assume different forms and have always existed, which leads me to assume that they may be without a sex because it serves no purpose to them. Shinnok is a fallen elder god, who either chose that chalkface form or was locked into it by the other elder gods. We don't really know about Raiden and Fujin's creation, so they could have dongs. We know Argus sired 3 children, so the lesser gods obviously can breed. That said, are they given choice of form or molded by the elder gods to be male or female?
I'm thinking the MK gods, or at the very least the elder gods, might be working on Gozer rules where they can be anything they want to be.

If Kronika turned out to be male this would explain the term Father Time, as there's a Mother Nature of some sort too. Would say this is Geras but he looks the total opposite of a personification of time.
