Yeah, well, Jade and Kitana or the other Outworld females were never strong enough to go 1-on1 with Shao Kahn in the Mortal Kombat I know.

There goes technique, stamina vs real muscle.

Who needs muscle and strength? When you have special powers? I love woman beating man, not with strength, but with super powers.

Of course Kitana or Mileena can't beat Goro physically, but they can beat him with their speed, weapons and special powers/abilities.

Shao Kahn is a different story, but most males can't beat him all the same.

It's terrifying to see how some people still view a female in a position of power in this day and age. Wouldn't have given two-cents' thought to Sonya, a hero, beating up Quan Chi, a villain, being a deliberate "SJW AGENDA!!!" move... just wow.

People need to get out more

That's not what it is. I respect women fighters, I really do. I like them. But they must retain their feminity. There shouldn;t be women fighters to beat Raiden or Shao Kahn or Quan Chi or Shinnok, they just aren't that strong. With how this is feminism is going, Kitana is probably gonna kick Shao Kahn's ass in MK11. Which is not ok.

They are good fighters, but they have to be below the men in the lore. They can have other purposes. Reptile even admits it himself, he's not a great warrior, Kotal Kahn was sent to kill him because he failed, but he saw value in him as a spy.

I respect when they defeat their men opoonents very hard (like how Sonya barely won against Kano in the movie, she almost died), not when they stomp on their testicles. It's just not right having Cassie Cage defeat Shinnok, a being so much more powerful than anyone.

Sometimes, women need moments to be saved too:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M9PtdSkYyM

I loathe identity politics and the ideology that now masquerades as feminism, and you, sir, are just as bad. You are an actual misogynist. It's people like you that delegitimize the arguments of the rest of us who sincerely believe in gender equality, but don't want identity politics and RADICAL feminism in gaming. All of us should identify as feminists in the classical sense. So in the name of sanity, I'm going to break down everything that's wrong in your statement.

1. Your insinuation that women are weak.

While women, in general, are smaller than men and tend to be more frail, that doesn't necessarily equate to weakness. Many martial arts don't revolve around brute strength, but rather utilizing an opponent's momentum against them along with a number of quick strikes and dodges. Women, in general, have better equilibrium than men - it's an evolutionary trait developed to protect fetuses in utero. This is why ballet and gymnastics tend to be heavily weighted toward women, genetically they are better balanced. A woman, well trained (Special Forces anyone) can use her advantage in balance, dodging, and precision to make up for the differential in strength. A well trained woman knows her limits. If she can't out-do her opponent in strength, she'll need to compensate. Look no further than the Israeli Defense Force. Both sexes serve and both learn Krav Maga, though implementation of certain moves alters based off of the sex of the user to give the best advantage.

2. Lack of Femininity

I really don't know what you're on about with this one. In MKX, yeah Cassie, Jacqui, and Sonya were in Special Forces garb, but that didn't really diminish their femininity. Look at Cassie in MKX, her suit is skin tight and intentionally frames her breasts. Her alt was her in Yoga pants so we could get a look at her ass. In MK11 we've only really seen Sonya and Skarlet. Sonya, I believe, was shown having a model with a bare midriff and Skarlet has a Power Girl-esque hole for her cleavage, and her breasts are framed by a half-circle above each breast and diamond pattern directing the eyes to her breasts up from her (very lean) torso.

3. Kitana Beating Shao Kahn

Why is this a problem? Kitana is a God damned Edenian who is now the Empress of Hell! The very nature of her being Edenian alters her from being just another woman. Hell, if they were still alive and not revenants, Kitana would outlive Liu Kang by centuries and still be hot as ever. She was also an agent of Shao Kahn and likely murdered countless men in his service.

4. "They have to be below the men in the lore."

What in the hell does that mean? They have to be lesser? They have to be subservient? Sindel fucking wiped out the majority of the MK9 cast! How is it that in the realm of 4 armed monster men, elder gods, dragons, and a fat cop that looks like Colm Meaney, that you find a woman holding her own to be line of believability?! This isn't Battlefield 5, there's no realism that needs to be had. This is fucking Mortal Kombat!

5. The Movie

Shut up about the damn movie, it has no bearing here.

6. "Sometimes women need to be saved too."

Who said they didn't? In MKX Tekeda rescued the whole crew. Johnny defeated Shinnok and won the girl! You're speaking as if the female characters should just be damsels and pretty much worthless to play as!

Your rhetoric is reprehensible, especially that bit about the lore. People like you give SJW's more ammo and more reasons to breed, attack, and politicize anything they wish. Maybe, if you actually give a damn, you'll keep your mouth shut because you'll do more damage to what you care about than good, Your opinion is as useless, idiotic, and toxic as theirs.

@Coltess weakness is not a bad thing. Just embrace it if you're a woman.

More frail than men= weaker. It's not an insult, it's a word that describes the state of being

If you gave a test paper and they asked you to give the synonim for frail, you'd say weak.

Frail= Weak.

It's not a bad thing. It's not always a case of losing a fight. You can win through speed, skills, intelliigence or just pure luck. But a woman does not have the muscle power or strength of a man.

Strength is irelevent, you meathead. It's only a factor in power. Make up for elsewhere and you needn't be that strong. As I said before MANY martial arts don't require much brute strength, but rather agility, finesse, and competence.

I guarantee you that a woman half your weight from Israeli Defense Force could have you down and out in less than 2 minutes. 5 if you run away.

And don't try that snowflake crap with me kid. You're talking to Coltess. Talk to any old user here and they'll tell you who wrote that song on these boards.

In a game full of fantastical locations of other realms and such, it is a stretch that a woman can beat a man but it is not a stretch that a man or woman can beat a god?! This a game. Just suspend your disbelief for crying out loud.

... (like how Sonya barely won against Kano in the movie, she almost died), ...

This is not even close to being accurate. Sonya was barely touched by Kano and the fight lasted all of (roughly) five minutes and Kano never fully held the upper hand.

As a fan of the series and a man in the fight against the suppression of free speech (and any other regressive ideological goals), I never saw MK favoring the modern neo-feminist agenda. One reason for this is that a bunch of white folks (Johnny, Sonya, and Cassie) were the saviors of Earthrealm, not a cast force-fed a heavy dose of diversity for the sake of meeting a vocal minority's suggested guidelines in political correctness. The lens through which whites are viewed in many parts of the world today would suggest that giving anyone other than a person of color the role of hero is some form of racism.

Besides, the MK series has (practically) advocated for the permissible and brutal dispatching of an opponent, whether they are male or female. It isn't like DC or Marvel are taking the reins of the series and pasting boobs on Liu Kang (Lucy Liu Kang, anyone?) as they've done in recent superhero films (the new "Captain Marvel" being the most recent example that comes to mind).

Take Germany, Sweden, and Canada as glaring examples that "social justice" is a dying ideology. Just let it live out the remainder of its days in sullen isolation before it's escorted to the execution chamber.

You might want to tone down the hateful speech you're using against Trump supporters, otherwise you'll find yourself in an argument for which I doubt you're prepared. There's nothing wrong with supporting a president, especially when that president has done more for this country's economy and unemployment rate than any president since I was brought into this world (or, well before that if you really want to dig).

One thing I will never understand is how an individual can so willingly ignore the good being done by a president who has been dedicated to this country's citizens since his time in office. Any of the ridiculous allegations made against Trump can be easily debunked with a simple bit of research. Then again, given the intense level of lethargy and self-absorption with which today's youth have been cursed (thanks to the technological advancement in cellphones and the rise in popularity of social media), I'm not surprised at all the assumptions people make or that those same people are too ignorant to realize the definition of "assumption" and inanely believe those prejudices are fact.

I'm not a "Trump lover". I am capable of recognizing the wrong in some of his words and actions. But, if someone is going to discriminate by lumping all supporters of one president into a single group, then I will speak out against them. No love lost for anyone here. Just throwing in another two cents.

I don't care if a fighter, or a boss, is male or female. What I care is NRS clearly did go SJW because all the females revealed, so far, look non-binary and manly. It seems anything feminine is banned in MK11, but the males can be half-naked and popping in muscles. Mortal Kombat: Pink Pussy Hat Edition seems to be a reality, unfortunately. Let us hope they change some of the designs before release.

Have you even played any of the 3D MK games? NRS are not good at modelling female faces. They've always looked masculine.

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh first of all that's a movie, it's scripted

that has nothing to do with what you were saying earlier about women, do not try to be all high and mighty trying to prove your shit, tv shows and movies are scripted and yeah back then that is how it was, but they did not sit there being like OH LET'S HIRE THIS 'HOT' CHICK and make her helpless

look at Charmed, look at Buffy they were all beautiful girls who fought off demons the girls in Charmed like Alyssa and Rose hated what they wore on the show cause it was such a Guy Dominated show and they wanted them to capture more male audiences in what they were

but look at Buffy she was tiny not your stereotype muscular looking person and she fought things twice her size, yeah she had help but they chose her a female to be the hero, yeah there were helpless women in the show but she would save them, also it's a show/movie they will always show a female being helpless cause that's what they think of,

if a man is weak he is looked down upon or even made fun of so of course media will make it where we can not do anything, but men can do everything, if you cry your a sissy men should not cry, etc etc

so your thinking is old school and that part of your brain needs to be adjusted

The justification of misogyny is what is really alarming on this thread. It's depressing to see the primitive attitude some people still have towards something as simple as a hero winning against a villain. I personally despise Cassie Cage as a character, but this argument is still all kinds of messed up. "Femininity" does not equal to "Damsel in Distress", least of all in a media that is devoted to combat and powerful, enhanced combatants.

Also, I call garbage on the "physical strength" argument because a scrawny man like Liu Kang should never be able to defeat Shao Kahn by that same logic, yet we seem to be perfectly happy with that outcome.

If you're looking to enjoy your stay on the web, you might want to recognize that reacting when emotion strikes you tends to eliminate all sense of logic and your point is often lost in that emotional reaction. I'm not here to pick a fight with anyone, but I will stand up when I feel like someone is being irrational and can be talked down before they make a habit of volatile behavior. I won't bother with the likes of those who seem to be taking the simplest route of trolling. I've found that it's best to ignore those who make it a point to say outrageous things for the sake of garnering a little bit more attention for themselves. Otherwise, you're just feeding the beast.

I have never claimed to be familiar with your personal life or any of what you've been through. Not to belittle your personal hardships, but we've all dealt with our own. I've dealt with a lot of adversity, trials, and tribulations in my lifetime and I've battled through them to become the man I am today. If you allow your past to control you, you can never fully appreciate the present or look ahead to an optimistic future. I hope you're coping as well as one can. But, no one should feel guilty for what they say just because there exists the possibility that someone might be offended.

In this thread, at least two people (not getting into specifics) seemingly concocted stories about their present or past lives. I laughed and moved on from those (presumed) tall tales. Nothing on the internet should be taken so seriously that you're unable to react in a rational manner. You can't put out a fire by fighting it with more fire. That just exacerbates the issue. Basically, you can be offended by something all you want, but reacting in an equal or harsher manner doesn't make you any less wrong than your offender. Just sayin'.

Besides, those choosing to adopt the role of the crotchety, sexist internet troll make up the minority of those contributing to this thread. The only way they become the focus is if multiple users (naively) continue focus on the trolls as opposed to the topic of conversation. Once more, stop feeding the beast if you want it to cease the apparent disruption of your lives.

Really?

It was shown in the story that Jade and Kitana are nothing for Shao Kahn, he could beat them with one hand. Liu Kang was the chosen one. The ONLY chosen one. And he earned that through lots of suffering and training.

Cassie just seemed to have it gifted to her just because she was a girl and NRS did it to attract feminine audiences.

Dude, MKX begins with Johnny beating Shinnok, and ends with his daughter beating Shinnok, Like how MK9 opens with future Raiden vs Shao Kahn and ends with past Raiden vs Shao Kahn. It's symbolism.
