Sonya was so pretty in MK3 and the 1995 MK movie. It's a shame she's the exact opposite of feminine, now. MK9 Sonya was a ridiculous hooker, but turning her into a boy who identifies as female is truly tragic. After seeing all the skins for all charcters currently available, Cassie and Sonya are easily at the bottom. I never thought Jacqui would be rated above them, but they put actual effort into her skins. Cetrion has HUGE variety in skin and gear design, so I'm perplexed why Sonya and Cassie were afterthoughts by the design team. Even Skarlet has decent gear and skin variety. Maybe future dlc gear/skin packs will remedy this. What I wouldn't do for a Keri Hoskin's skin in MK11!

I'd be ok with that. I'd love a new cast of characters for the base roster with a few classics as unlockable, or dlc in MK12. Lord Kang and Kitana's new tournaments sound good to me.

Other than using the reanimated dead body of Liu Kang as his personal killing machine and pissing off the benevolent spirit of Liu Kang , no, in the original timeline Raiden did nothing wrong to Liu Kang and even if some innocent people were slaughtered by a wrathful zombie reanimated by Raiden via black magic, it's nothing they could have settled with a good party "The Hangover" style. /s

MK3 Sonya doesn't look like a hooker, but MK9 Sonya does -- not comparable. But, who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and MK12 Sonya will have rainbow armpit hair, nose rings, and xer outfits will show-off xer post-op twig and berries. As for MK11, Sonya and Cassie are the worst designed characters with the laziest skins, while Geras and Erron win laziest skin effort on the male side. Fact. If you enjoy MK11 Cassie and Sonya, great, the sun will still rise tomorrow.

They are military, how in the hell you would design a better military suit?

I get you don't like the characters, but that's how fictional military characters are supposed to look like: green/blue/gray , with dogtags, kneepads, boots, fingerless gloves, holsters strapped under the arms and armor/bullet proof vest.

Gymsuit Sonya looked like a gymnast, not a military so the "lazy" design should be her mk3 costume by logic, but it seems that logic and most people around here are parallel lines.

I think Sonya's costumes are ok, it's her face that bothers me in this game. Found this edited pic on the web and I think that's way better than the original.

Ok, that's a legit criticism, and I agree although the blue outfit Sonya is supposed to be older looking and the edited Pic looks too young, imo.

But I was addressing the criticism to Cassie and Sonya uniforms OK you may like them or not but they are supposed to be military and dressed like one.

I haven't watched the story mode yet and I know only of tangentially important spoilers (NPCs mostly), so I will wait before judging the story or the game itself but as usual, people are overreacting and complaining for all the wrong reasons

You mean do away with the entire flagship roster? Dude, characters are what make or break a fighting game. To get rid of the staple characters is to hamstring your fighting game. Look how well it worked out for Street Fighter 3 and Marvel VS Capcom Infinite(X-Men).

I get what you mean about Sonyas costumes as they are a little samey but she looks great in story mode and her new face is actually quite beautiful. I also believe Ronda has actually done a decent job as Miss Blade after experiencing the whole story.

On that note... one thing I both like and dislike about this game is, while it has a metric ton of unlockables... it also SHOWS you all of those unlockables right out of the box, and tells you where/how to unlock them. That's great for convenience and collecting purposes... but it kills all the mystery and fun surprise immensely.

I'm hoping there's something to unlock hidden in this game that isn't obvious, and that literally no one knows about yet. (And no, I don't mean Mileena, like many I've given up on that dream, lol)... maybe skins that AREN'T shown in the character pages. Maybe additional finishers, which require a mercy to unlock. I DUNNO... but SOMETHING... I really hope we haven't actually seen EVERY unlockable... 5 days before release (or even pretending spoilers don't exist, seen every unlockable on release day)

Maybe there's at least some good concept art with lore or artist notes attached to it like back in MKDA

Do the characters have bios?

They did in MK9 & MKX, you had to go into the gallery mode area, and they were displayed there. I've heard nothing about Bios in this game. If they're in there somewhere, I'd very much like to read them.

This could perhaps elaborate on some of the characters who lack a strong presence in story mode (like Noob by the sound of it).
