Additional story spoilers, read at your own risk:

Dark Raiden gets erased from time early on

Sonya kills Young Kano, there by killing Old Kano

Old Jax sides with Kronika at first, then comes to his senses and sides with the good guys again

Shao Kahn is killed by Kitana, Kotal gives the throne to her

MAJOR STORY SPOILERS BELOW:

Ending has been leaked.

PART1 https://streamable.com/2j4kp

PART2 https://streamable.com/gudmd

ENDING https://streamable.com/ymz11

If you fail against Kronika https://streamable.com/wh6rh

And to add on to this...

The guy who filmed these has said, other than when you lose to Kronika(shown in video link), He has not seen any kinda REAL Alternate " ending" so far. and nothing past the end kredits. Thats what he told us. While he did state that during SOME chapters-(Liu/Lao, Scorp/Subz 2x, Jax/Jaq) during CERTAIN fights - you can choose which person fights your opponent, he does not think it changes the ending story in any way...but, again, that is what he said so far.

Chapter numbers are 1-12

1-Cassie

2-Kotal

3-Liu/Lao

4-Sub/"Hanzo"

5-Jade

6-Johnny

7-Kitana (Apparently she kills Kahn...yes KILLS him)

8-Sonya(young version)

9-YoungJax/Jaq

10-Subs/"Scorp" yes there is a reason I said 'Scorpion' this time....

11-Raiden

12-"Lord" Liu Kang

Well those spoilers are already raising a few red flags. The Liu Kang and Raiden thing makes no sense seeing how they had no conflict in the previous time line. You know it doesn't even feel right calling it that seeing how the lore is completely different so screw it, I'll just keep calling it the old continuity. Christ I just know once I watch this story mode I'm going to be more pissed than I was by the end of MKX's.

The reason Liu and Raiden got into a fight this time is after future Hanzo died, past Scorpion realized that he wanted to reform, and Liu realized this. Raiden did not, and attacked Scorpion and tried to kill him. It seems to be implied that the past Raiden was starting to become corrupted due to holding onto Shinnok's amulet. Anyway, Liu was defending Scorpion and apparently he was ready to do so to the death; the scene mirrors the end of MK9 right before Raiden kills Liu Kang, which is what triggered Raiden to recall all the past timeline fights with Liu Kang and reject the amulet.

The story also shows a reference to MK Armageddon, and it implies that Liu and Raiden did fight on the pyramid of Argus. In my opinion, it implies that Raiden killed zombie Liu Kang before being killed by Shao Kahn back in the OG timeline.

In fairness, this does seem to be in line with Liu's character; it was best shown in the semi-final fight of MKDC where Liu fought Raiden to prevent him from killing Shang Tsung. Alblet that was non-canon, I believe that aspect of Liu's character stuck with him. As for Raiden, he was influenced by an outside force at that particular moment.

Alright far be it for me to break anyone's balls for discussing spoilers in a thread that has the word in the title twice... but I humbly request that if ya'll want to discuss the ending (or other plot intricacies), could you please go do so in that thread Johnny1up just made to discuss that very topic?

I was enjoying this thread when it was all costumes and fatalities early in the day, but now it's going the way of black boxes I'm fighting the urge to click and plot-related landmines I need to sidestep...

Based on just the untagged portions of the previous post I can now infer that Liu Kang fights Raiden at the end of this game. Furthermore the fact that it starts with "the reason Liu and Raiden got into a fight this time" ... implies the names blacked out in Onaga's prior post are PROBABLY... ya'know... Liu and Raiden. Kinda lame to respond to a spoiler tag by immediately revealing what the blacked out information was (I assume, as I still have not clicked said tag) :P

ANYWAY... Not bitching... not my intent to bust anyone's chops... I realized I ran these risks just coming into this thread. But as has been stated numerous times earlier... it would be nice if we could separate story spoilers... and... just run-of-the-mill "lets show off some game content" spoilers... and it... feels like this thread is now shifting off one and onto the other pretty hard. So like I said - humble request.

Cassie and Sonya have mediocre skins, imo.

I do kinda like it. But hey i am biased lol.

Thank you. So she has these two outfits and the two that we know off ?

And anything on her in story mode / ending and her moves and all ?

I hear ya, updated the Op hoping the people would read it. Once the story dropped wasn't much I could do but change the title into a warning.

Something I've wondered since we first saw it on reveal day:

Does Sonya's spandex skin, the one where she's wearing the tanktop w/ the star on it, come in colors that match her MK3 costume? I ask because the pants are pretty much a dead match for her MK3 pants, so it seemed like an easy assumption (and if not, a missed opportunity)

It better or else it seems pointless to give it to her. I just wish they actually tried to make it look good instead of like making it up like the retro ninja costumes from the previous games.

If I recall correctly: wasn't Dark Raiden responsible for reanimating Liu Kang's corpse in the original timeline? I think that might well have been a source of conflict, since Liu was disgusted to find out that his body was being used to kill people.

I'm glad the ending implies the timelines have been wiped, and a new future awaits. MK storyline has been full of holes and terrible decisions for many years. MK12 should be a fresh, new story.

Yeah but even if Liu was disgusted with Raiden desecrating his corpse to be the enforcer of his facism it still wasn't him fighting Raiden in Edenia at the pyramid. Also I don't recall Liu ever raising the issue when he aligned with Raiden and the other Earthrealm defenders. But it has been a long time since I read those Armageddon bios. I can't really be bothered to sift through them again because I can't remember who did and who didn't get a bio..

Cassie and Sonya have mediocre skins, imo. Maybe Sonya fans like the Ronda Rousey, butch, non-binary look, but not me. Erron Black's skins are mostly underwhelming, too. Noob Saibot's masks are amazing. Most characters have decent skin choices. Geras, Cassie, Sonya, and Erron are not varied, and seem a bit low in effort, imo.

I agree. Especially Cassie has very boring and similar skins. And appears to have no different hairstyles.
Sonya too, but a few outfits that are a little better. But did they change the face again? The face seems different since the last time they updated it.
Personally, that face begins to bother me when they started broadcasting WWE Smackdown over here, saw how obviously fake she and her "opponent" made the fight look, not even 30 seconds in. Can't even understand why an MMA fighter goes on to fake fighting (tv show wrestling) and make it look faker that in already is.

I really like how sonya looks. Yeah she is very different but i love how young sonya looks. Her face is fresh. Yeah she had some weird facial expressions / angry face but hey that is Sonya. Now it starts the countdown for me to see all her skins. I need more and more gear.
