That wasn't me... Though her hair looks more carrot blonde than actual red. If I should choose, it'd be the red colour like in the screens of the red girl in Kahn's arena, shared by Kira as well.

That's probably true,considering that I wasn't even aware of her existence until one of your flash movies.

The thing is,if you ever wandered over to the Human Smoke thread,you probably saw us grasping at straws and blowing up his smallest appearances and mentions of him into potential plot threads,because we have little else to go by.

You,on the hand,don't even have that advantage,seeing how Skarlet wasn't actually featured in an MK game in any shape or form. So naturally,I just wonder what's there to advance. You'd have to invent the entire character completely from scratch. Which is perfectly fine,but using that essentially fan-made character as an argument in a discussion about traditional portrayals of already well-established,canonical characters is probably not a good idea.

But if I misconstrued your intentions,I apologize,for whatever that's worth.

To be completely honest,I jumped at the "I hate blondes,but Skarlet should be blonde" contradiction more than anything.


When people say that Jade should be black or Middle-Eastern,they don't actually mean that she should be African-American or Kurdish or whatever. That's just silly. We all know she's Edenian. Although we are on an MK board,so never say never...

In any case,what is generally understood with statements like these is that people just want Jade to show features of a certain ethnicity. And most of the time,we are just talking about her skin color,nothing more. As far as I can tell,everyone agrees that she should be dark-skinned. The only thing people keep arguing about is the extent of that darkness.

Personally,seeing how she's more tanned than any other Edenian we've ever seen and that fact that apparently got a whole desert named after her,I believe that she is of a different Edenian ethnicity than Kitana and Sindel,possibly hailing from some kind of desert nomad tribe.

I didn't say I hate blondes. I said I don't really like blondes. In order of preference my hair colour spectrum goes:

Black>Dark Brown>Light Brown>White>Red>Dyed Purple>Blonde>Bald>Dyed Weird Colours

I still like blondes, I just don't prefer them. Which is what makes it so weird that I like blonde Skarlet.
My wife has light brown hair. It doesn't mean I love her less than if she had black.

Someday I'll post "A brief history of Bezou's Skarlet" and we can revel in the ridiculousness of it all, but for now....I'm fuckin' stoked that Jade looks so good in her UMK3 outfit. I never expected that. I much prefer the MK2 ninja outfit. But I can't argue with results.

I'm also stoked that Jax007 is thinking of doing a Skarlet concept.

I love Jade's klassic costume. Thank heavens it's in the game. I will also be using that look for Kitana I'm sure.

Jade, Sindel, Mileena, and Sonya. I'm pretty much set for females in this game now.

As for the whole Jade is black thing, I never thought she was black. She always struck me as Arabian. Like other posters mentioned she has a desert stage. Even in her mkd appearance she didn't have the traditional African American facial features in my opinion.

But it doesn't really matter to me. Light or darker skinned, I'm just so happy she's in the game and with her Klassic look with NO HIGH HEELS.

Why is everyone opposed to high heels? They look so much better, only on the females who should be wearing them though. Cough Sonya Cough. She is the only one where the high heels bother me. Kitana, Mileena, and Jade rock the high heels, even though the heels are much too short, the heels should be taller. Sindel looks good with the heels too. IMO It is much more aesthetically pleasing to see them in heels. It makes them that much more badass that they can fight in heels. Kitana's throw where she kicks them in the face then flips them wouldnt have the same badassness if she was in flats.

BTW, now that we have a better look at Jade's new costume, which one is your favorite, UMK3, Deception, or this new one? Im gonna have to go with Deception, Jade looked beyond perfect in that game. She looks good in 2011 too, but not like Deception.

Jade looks stunning! This is easily my favourite of all the renders seen so far. I too am pleased that there are no heels on her. The only downside to this render is that her skin isn't as dark as it should be. Other than that, they've set a new standard with this render. They need to keep to it now.

You know... im really surprised. It seems like there are more Jade fans here than other fans and yet they all have no problem with her revealing outfit or the fact that she is slutting it up with her stripper poll win pose

I didn't know about any win pose, but slutting it up is okay on my end. I don't have any notions about Jade's chastity.

Hehe, I think it is rather befitting as well. While Kitana is the strict and serious one, Mileena being the childish and psychotic one, I see Jade as the strong and sexy one. She's mysterious and exotic, having a sex appeal that comes natural to her, unlike being forced like with Mileena. So using her staff as a stipper pole is simply awesome. XD

Hmm I think NRS will probably change the Retro Ninja Jade design, form no heels to heels. Im 99.99% sure they will. They like females in Stilettos, so why stop now? Crazy NRS folks..

I wouldn't mind either way, though I would prefer if they kept the heels away from the classic outfit. She didn't have heels in the classic games, so putting heels on her in the classic outfit wouldn't make much sense. Maybe a little heel, but not stiletto heels...

As for her skin colour, I'm just happy she appears tan rather than pale like Kitana and Mileena. Then I don't care much about what people say that she appears Asian, Mexican, Arabic, African or whatever... To me she will always be Edenian, no matter how dark her skin is. ^^

I think they're keeping her race ambiguous on purpose. That way anyone with darker skin can identify with her. I like that.
