Why all the hate for the MK2 assassin outfits? Sure they lack finer details, but I find the simplicity and lack of boob-popping action rather refreshing. The MK2 garments just look much more believable as assassin-wear.

Jade just got a new fan. No but seriously she looks the best of the females.

Perhaps they could model them nicely nowadays (similar to that Mileena and Kitana one shot comic. The costume looked good in that) but theres just.... nothing particularly inspiring about it.

For the time, it was great.... but nowadays it just looks frumpy and dull. The UMK3 look had detailing, had interesting things happening.
Details on the gloves, boots, strings across the boobs, cool collar etc. Really upped the ante (imo of course)

Hah, yes, but the UMK3 version already shows boobs, ass, and legs. As Michael Kors would say: "Slutty slutty slutty..."

Its sad that this ten plus year old outfit, has more creative design than both Mileena and Kitana's "new" design combine in MK (2011). This is how Jade, Mileena, and Kitana should look like, which are ninjas, not half naked like in MK(2011). I am suprised on how light skinned she is. I hope is a little bit darker in the final game, like she has been through out the series.

The only thing sluttier in the MK3 look is the keyhole in their chests, and the last 20 years of fashion dictate that cleave =/= slutty. It's a huge leap to go from "stylized assassin" (cos thats what the look is) to "slut".

Like you said, MK2 has ass action anyway, so I fail to see the big.

And like I said, MK3 has more things going for it artistically. It's sexy, it's sleek. Certainly left an impression on me as a kid. If I'd seen the MKII version first I would've been like "fugggggly"

And I honestly can't tell the difference between MKII and MK3 fans so :S

I agree that the UMK3 look has more visual interest than the MKII outfit. Perhaps this is just a matter of subjective differences in taste, but the UMK3 outfits appear overwrought in the sexiness department. It's all "Boobs! Netting! Ass! Thong!" I'm not sure why any fighter would charge into battle with a top that hangs together by some spindly thread.

I would not be in favor of the MKII look translated without any updates into the current game. It certainly requires updates like the ones shown in the DeviantArt render.

And I wasn't comparing MKII fans with the UMK3 update. I was specifically talking about the fans shown in that DeviantArt image. :)

Would have MUCH preferred the MK2 costumes as the retro costumes. Mainly because Im not a fant of the bun. But oh well.

OMG... Jade suffers the same fate as Sub-Zero... They just turned them into asians...

Really stupid, I like the design, but the asian stuff should go, Jade should be like she was in Deception.

This is confusing... She looks pale,but with asian features, not like in deception AT ALL.

That's why I don't like it.

Darn, I would have much prefered the MK2 look for Kita/Mil/Jade... Oh well

She looks outstanding, I'd gladly trade her current look (which is still pretty cool in and of itself) for this one.





The female MK2 look is one of the most underrated costume designs in MK history. Maybe Kitana and Mileena will get that look?

I said this before, but these costumes should stay in 1996. The new costumes are way better. I mean Kitana has never looked better, why go back to her UMK3 look, which is nothing compared to her 2011 look. Im not against the classic looks, they just belong in 1996. They look much better in high heels too. I wont be using any of the retro costumes, unless I can get them for free.

Why are some people against the bun? especially THIS bun, with the chopsticky thing and how it's more loose and high up (as opposed to the low-headed grandma esque one they had in UMK3)

Best of all is the lack of high heels!

The new bun is also much sexier than the one in UMK3.

And if not, maybe they'll add them as DLC later

User Spike81 has a pic of Kitana in his sig that is probably the most beautiful costume she could have. I know it's fan art, but I wish that was an in game costume. Check it out if you haven't seen it!!!!

Oh, and I know I'll be sent to Scorpion's Hell for writing this, but I think Bezou's mock-up of "Skarlet" looks better than Jade herself.
