so why cant i be happy that i product i spent my hard earned money on is trying its best to give me more then the compitition?

so u want no compition? u want everone to have the same console and for everything to be equal? only problem is if that happns that company will take advantage of the consumer thel get lazy and progress will never be made.

I'm fine with competition, but when a game is multi-platform, it should remain the same on both consoles. I just think of those as the "free agents" if you will, and unless they are scooped up and made exclusive to one console, they should remain equal. It just doesn't seem right that I pay $60 for a game, then don't receive content or access to DLC that the other console version gets you, for the same price.

I am completely ok with console exclusive games, just not exclusive content for games that are sold as multi-platform. When I buy a console, I buy it because it has the most console exclusive games that I personally enjoy playing. Halo and Gears are the 360 games that I really enjoy, and they are a big part of the reason why I choose to play on 360. That and I like the online better. I also have a Wii, because as an old school gamer, I love Mario games. Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and New Super Mario Bros Wii are great games. If PS3 had big name franchises that garnered my interest enough to pay the money to buy it, I would. However, I have yet to see specific games that catch my interest to that point. Uncharted, Twisted Metal, and Little Big Planet are tempting, but I never developed a big fanship for those games, so it's not too hard to resist. If they scooped up a game company I liked, I'd be a little more apt. to buy their console.

This is all beyond the point though. My point is, is that when there's a multi-platform game, it makes me feel like that game is available on that console. So it doesn't factor into which one you choose to buy. Now however, who the fuck knows what you're gonna get with the console you buy. You may get COD maps on 360, but you could be missing missions in Arkham Asylum. I just think its BS to expect gamers to buy both consoles in hopes of getting the extra content on each multi-platform game. That's my feeling as a gamer. We as gamers are the ones being fought over, yet were the money is really the only focus here. Sure, they are a business so it's expected, but I would appreciate them being a little bit more concerned about who they are sheltering out and slapping in the face everytime they buy exclusives to games on both consoles.

So I wont be able to download it unless I've got a US account set up? How do I set one up?

The press release said global so I hope everywhere gets it at the same time. If not a USA account is easy to set up, just create a new user on your PS3 and when you sign up for PSN use a fake american address. I used Beverly Hills, ZIP 90210. No questions asked, you'll have to use an American credit card or buy a $ top up card to access PS+ though

Did you take anything that BlackCyborg said into account? He makes valid points. Parading around the fact that you get access to a demo when 360 owners didn't even get a date for it is a little dickish. Why can't we all just realize that we're MK fans and stop bringing this console war bullshit into the mix. The 360 owners on here are just as dedicated to MK and this game as you ps3 owners are so how is it fair that you get a demo before us and then wave it in front of our faces? Content exclusivity is the dumbest bullshit ever regardless of which system it's for and BlackCyborg is right in his posts. We're all fuckin gamers and MK fans so why should half of the population get benefits over the over?

It's true. If 360 owners have been getting all the goods for years, then they have no good reason to complain about this.

Fairness my ass. Things were not fair before, yet all of a sudden everyone should get equal treatment? No, I think treating PS3 owners like 360 owners for a change is what's fair.

I've noticed the 360 bias myself, not just because of the exclusive content and all, but usually when a game comes out for PS3 and 360, the PS3 version gets shittier graphics, stuttery animations, longer loading times, and other bullshit like that.

Finally PS3 users can start being proud and shameless. And it's about time considering the PS3 is a superior system, able to do everything the 360 can do plus so much more.

I just want to say to all the people who people who expected the at home demos to include the 8 characters from the original E3 build or just Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Neener Neener Neener...

My prediction in the other thread was, "They'll want enough to show off tag mode. It will have 4 characters. Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Mileena, and one more of the original 8."

Scorpion & Sub-Zero were obvious locks. Mileena was easy to predict as the only girl in the original 8. Frankly I wish I'd been confidant enough to say Cage in my original post, because he was my actual best guess for #4, but a small part of me thought they might go with Kung Lao because they seem to want to show off his new fatalities alot. I never thought it would be Sektor or Reptile, they'd want at least one "non-pallette swap" character. I also never thought it would be Nightwolf, because he's the lamest and least notable of the 8.

In any case...

Well 360 owners did get the GTA 4 DLC about a year before PS3 owners, so this was a good trade-off...

You guys are saying all this as if Microsoft and Sony are the same company... and it's some sort of coordinated strike to screw one side or the other... like for years they stood together going "MUAHAHA! Xbox users will get ALL the perks... and PS3 users shall be left wanting..." and now they've reversed that stance.

I'm pretty sure that's not how it works.

If you're a PS3 owner who feels or has felt screwed your problem is with Sony and its partners. Not Microsoft.

If you're an Xbox owner who feels or has felt screwed your problem is with Microsoft and its partners. Not Sony.

When those partners are the same people, I'm pretty sure they're most interested in getting the same content to both sides as easily and completely as possible. That's how they make money. So your problem again becomes... the respective parent company of your system, and whatever road blocks they might be throwing in said partners way.

Wacky concepts, I know.

Black Cyborg is of course correct in that all games if multi-console releases should be equal but realistically this has never been the case and never will. I know lots of people who are XB360 gamers are upset over the Demo and things like Kratos being in the PS3 version, but honestly they have no foot to stand on.

Just look at all the extra content and timed DLC that you guys get like COD Maps and Fallout DLC, exclusive Demo's like the Crysis MP demo, bonus stuff like extra maps in Bulletstorm and extra characters in games like Sonic racing, etc. As far as stuff like this guys, the PS3 has received the short end of the stick this gen so honestly its nice that at least one company like NR is trying to make the PS3 version a little better than the XB360 version. Sure it sucks if your a MK fan with an XB360, but no more so than it sucks if your a COD or fallout fan with a PS3

Parading around and wave it in front of 360 owners faces? Actually, 360 owners are posting in a thread called Mortal Kombat Demo Coming to PSN, what did you think the posts would be about?

No one is going into other threads and posting "hahah we get the demo and you don't!" You're in a thread for PSN players saying don't talk about the demo you're about to get next week. Let's flip this around--why are you trolling a thread that has nothing to do with you (since you own a 360 not PS3 so you don't have PSN) and ruining all of the PS3 owners excitement?

And please, please, pretty please, do a search for my username and pull up some of my old posts where I talk about the new 360 controller being great for fighting games, among other posts where it's clear that I own a 360.

Sorry you're not getting the demo, but you shouldn't shit on everyone's parade, that kind of sucks.
oh and one more thing... console exclusive content is NOTHING new... this shit has been going on since the NES, SNES / Genesis days

No you dont.

People who are a part of Playstation Plus get it a week before anyone else much like the other content they get first. Playstation Plus is a service in which someone can pay either $17.99 for 3 months or $49.99 for a year and they get early access to demos, exclusive bonus content, exclusive online PS3 based programming, discounts on games and sometimes even games for free. They arent saying "pay for the Mortal Kombat demo" its just another perk of being a PS+ member. A lot of people though have been saying that they will join PS+ to get the demo early which is where im assuming this "you have to pay for the demo" confusion is coming from

Great question...so, I've come to expect and enjoy certain things from certain fighting games, and what I expect and enjoy about MK is the over-the-top violence, awesome, but sometimes corny characters, and the overall MK theme and setting, all of which remind me of the "good times" in the arcades (MKI, MKII, and UMK3).

After the first couple of 3D MKs, I really stopped enjoying the actual fighting. When I play Street Fighter or Tekken, I expect and enjoy the gameplay.

So the long winded answer is no because what I enjoy and expect from MK has nothing to do with being broken, which unfortunately, I have also come to expect from MK games.

It looks really cool: the Challenge Tower, mini games, etc. so I'll enjoy that even if the game is broken, but it would be a HUGE bonus if it's actually a competent fighting game.
