Is it confirmed that there is going to be a training mode in the demo? I'd love it if it was.

This is the biggest news of all. We are all going to be playing Mortal Kombat pretty much a month before release, and to be honest I was not expecting one. I can't wait.

Gonna be dominating with Sub-Zero my friends.

Hell no, i'm confident it'll get patched out in the main game. It may even get patched sooner if it was obviously broken since the demo, but that's a good point because a lot of people will be using the demo to judge the game, I wonder if they'd actually patch the demo because they are afraid it would lower their sales if they didn't lol.

You have to be an Xbox Live gold member to get demos, which is $60 a year

I may buy PSN Plus this weekend just to get the demo a week early lol but why do we have to get 4 really boring characters for the demo. Not even Kung Lao? wtf. We get Johnny Cage, Mileena and the 2 over promoted ninjas who were once somewhat cool. If they were going to make any sort of a decent 4 for the demo it would be

Besides the fact that we are getting the lamest roster that could be formed without including Jade.. This demo is certainly big news but not much of a surprise to me because if anyone remembered the HD Kollection boxart that was shown, it was stated that a demo was included with that. It is probably the same demo just with some upgraded visuals.

Am excited for the demo, am a xbox 360 fan and at first I was bit annoyed bout the ps3 gettin it first but we'll all get it eventually so happy days.

Back in Oct the Castlevania Lords of Shadow Demo was released to the PS Plus members first on 29th Sept then a week later to all PS fans and then Xbox Live got it the week after that on the 4th Oct. So hopefully the same will happen with the mk demo, fingers crossed we won't have to wait too long.

Puchased PS+ last night...$18 to me is worth it, plus there's bound to be some cool shit associated with + that I'll use. I'm pretty stoked, as I'll probably be one of the few that can test out custom arcade stick(s) with the demo. My only concern is certain button inputs are going to be a bitch to pull off on an arade stick...I based my sticks off of the NRS TE stick as far as button layout, with the R1 and L2 smaller buttons above the joystick...I'm hearing Xrays are performed by hitting R2 & L2...that's going to be pretty difficult with the arcade layout since the buttons are so far apart. My guess is the full game will take this into consideration and give us an "arcade stick layout" option. Anyway, I'll keep the community posted on the feel of the game using an arcade stick. EDIT: The X-ray button combo actually isn't too difficult...had my layout confused.

So I gave in and also purchased Playstation+ today, specifically for MK, but since all kinds of freebies and discounts were tossed in and it's significantly cheaper in the long run, should I choose to resubscribe, I bought a year's plan rather than just a three-month trial. I've never read much about PS+ though, so I'm kind of nub about it. I heard somewhere on here that the MK demo will be enabled for automatic download; I assumed that means I can set up my PS3 to turn on remotely and download the demo while I'm not home. If this is true can anyone here tell me how to do this? Are there any other PS+ related tips experienced users may be able to offer? So far all I've got are a few free Minis and a sick new theme.

Damn, is it confirmed that every character's X-Ray is performed with R2+L2? That would be kind of lame--I was hoping they would be like ultras in SS4/SS4.

It is not.
People tried doing the Pit Fatality move on that stage to no avail.
I suppose it could be done with a different command sequence, though-
the Pit Fatality *does* say "varies" in the menu.

Btw guys if you get it now they have the classic sonic the hedgehog Free, Bit love free, and full trial for 1 hr games. Its a good deal esp. the sonic game. Also down the road sonic 2 posted to be free as well.

I purchased Playstation Plus last night because I just can't wait any longer. I was so excited to hear about a demo and wasn't expecting it so soon. So tuesday I will get to play. I have to wait till I get off work though dammit!

Some new info bout the demo from the PS hands on,

Demo size is 500-600 Mb

All characters have 1 fatality each in demo

They describe the main menu like sumthin from 300 movie with scorpion and sub-zero figthing in slow motion

i am REALLY in a hard position cause i am not sure i wanted them to release one.
I really wanted to experience the whole game feel when it comes out in April.
The graphics, the frame rate, tha atmosphere. I wanted to put that disc and blow me away. But now i dont know if i can resist not downloading the demo and spoil all that for me.....
I will totally see the graphics and see how the game feels, and then the full version will only come as an update to this, with extra story and characters.
I have mixed feelings about this, but excited at the same time.
sometimes i just personally wish they wouldnt release a demo, cause it will be impossible to restist having it :P

These are some of the most completed characters, and the earliest announced.

You really have no reason to complain, as this is HUGE for the MK team to release a demo before the game is out. It's never been done before in the 20 years of MK

Actually,. JRF, there was a demo for MKDA back in 2002 that came with the official Playstation magazine, so that statement isn't entirely true.

And second of all, with as many people so BONKERS for this game, why is it that when they announce that we can play a demo of the game in just like a few days time, this thread only gets 6 pages of reply's and no one really cares but being a homosexual and liking MK gets 30+ pages of discussion. Really? So strange.
