Did you get what you wanted so far?

I want NEW characters. I hope Kabal is in with and without the mask. I don't want another nestalgia fest where MK just sucks itself off for my 60 bucks.

Firstly, I got Reptile. That's a nice start.
Secondly, and more importantly, Shao Kahn actually feels like he's a threat, from the trailer. In vsDCU, he was a fat guy in sandals, for crying out loud. He actually seems to be back to how he was in MK2 and 3.
What do I want next? More gameplay. It looks really fun, and tag teaming looks like it could add a whole new level to the fights. Also, fatalities sound like they'll be crazy. :]

My alltime favorite character is subzero...i hope that one of his fatality is a gruesome remake of his classic, spine rip fatality
speaking of fatalities, i hope they include at least 2...so multiple fatalities is what I am looking for
and, as was already requested, a great story with great cutscenes..if possible.
but the game looks amazing to me. I hope that scorpion is also part of the roster. and i am also curious if they will have shang tsung in the roster too...if that's the case..i would love to see his fatality

I wanted dark & gritty.I have not seen that from this trailer, but that can still happen.
I wanted the old school feel of it.I got that.Honestly feeling giddy like I did in the early 90s.
I really did not want to see a bunch of returning faces.I wanted some fresh faces.
I would have liked the pit II fall to have looked the same as in mk 2 but that's just a minor complaint.
Most of all I wanted a true MK.So overall i'm cool with it for now.I want to see more before I pass any judgment.

So far everything is looking good - except one thing!
My main concern at the moment is the feel and atmosphere of the game, because the art direction is still looking too cartoonish and nothing looks new.
Some of the arenas, like The Living Forest, look like something from a Tim Burton movie. The faces on the trees are cheesy, the far backgrounds have hardly any detail, it looks like they just went copy & paste on the trees and added a bit of mist to cover it up.
It should look menacing and creepy like in MK2.
Playing the 2D games you felt as though you could go exploring around the arenas. It looked like there was so much more to them. The 3D games you can see there is nothing else, you can see where they end, and you can feel you are confined to this invisible force field around it.
Must say though, the Throne Room looks perfect. They nailed that!
Like most I want a "dark" game. I don't mean that by everything looking black and saturated. MK1-3 were all pretty light and colourful, but the art direction was really mysterious, gritty, and set the right moods. Currently everything is too polished and shiny.
The way it is now, it just doesn't feel new, nor does it feel old school. It's like the other 3D games.
Hopefully in the next few months they'll work on this, like creating completely new character voices/grunts, sound effects, and round announcer (I HATE the one they've been using for the past few games, I'd love someone creepy sounding like MK2). The life bars have been pretty much the same too, so they need to change those up a bit.
The smallest things can make the game feel fresh!

So far, the game looks promising. I love the 2D game-play, and the current cast. Although, I can't really tell, but I really do wish each character had distinct stances. I hated how everybody looked the same on MKvsDC.
I also loved reptile. I have been waiting so long for him to look like a Ninja again!
As far as characters are concerned, the one I badly want in the game is Smoke. It doesn't even matter which one, I'm good with Human or Robot Smoke, as long as he's in there.

You're pretty much spot on there, I agree with almost everything. Even things like the fight/finish him texts are essentially the same since MK1, just with a different font or 3D-ified. Compare it to Street Fighter, each game has it's own style and feel, everything from voices, text, graphics, lifebars and announcers gets updated and changed. justycist Wrote: I'd love someone creepy sounding like MK2.
That would be awesome, by far the best ever. I think they tried too hard ever since to make it sound more menacing and just went too far.Yes and no, in terms of gamplay most def yes but i loved the gamplay in mk/dc so i was happy anyways. Otherwise generally no, mainly to do with the art style of the game.
For me it just looks stale as its the same one they've been using since mkda. I was really hoping for strong bold colours, simple but stricking character designs. A mix of uncharted 2 + virtua fighter+MK1 with abit of 70's martial arts films thrown in too.
Basically I want a modern take on MK1, with a new story and some new characters or reimagining of excisting ones, which was one reason I really liked the rebirth trailer.
Also why the hell does johnny cage have johnny tattooed across his chest.

yeah, i finally came onto mko and they had a different story than wb chicago becoming netherealm studio. but seriously its to early but the opening kahn raiden segments got me happy. hope its a chapter type game where the mk1 fighters are the only playables then as u go through story you unlock thecharacters as they come
well I got two important things;
- 2D gameplay; Still I need to see some regular fights, because it hasn't convinced me fully yet.
- Reboot of the series
But to be honest I expected more, mainly concerning art style and (in less content ) graphics. And I was expecting a reboot of MK1 and 2.
IMO from what I have seen so far..this game can be much more, but since the game is still in progress time can only tell in what degree.
I also think the Rebirth trailer got me a bit spoiled and has an influence on my opinion.
So far..joy is overruled by dissapointment, but I see enough room for that to change since the game is still in progress.

I wanted a new MK game. That's what I got. |D
Seriously though, even I end up bitching about some gripes that annoy me about it, I know I'm just gonna end up buying it Day 1 anyway.

Yes and No:
YES - to the Classic characters and backgrounds!
NO - to the Cartoon art style!
Where is the Dark Grittiness?

A reboot of MK 1-3
will love to play the story mode, too bad its forcing me to play as the kharakters relevant to that part of the story tough, very similar story mode to MK vs DC
would have prefered to have an opening and ending for all the kharakters.

Hell no.
I wanted Mileena, yes, but why'd they go with her MKD alt? That's lame. A stripper once again.
What does this mean? That Kitana will yet again be a damsel? I'm betting on it.
They really need to improve these girls.

Dressing like a slut is actually a personality trait when it's Mileena. She does that so people won't look at her face.
