Obviously they could do better. A simple thing like Jade's skin that even you, who have no experience with video games, can change in about 5 minutes on photoshop, and meanwhile they've detailed individual pieces of aggregate in the dead pool's spalled concrete walkway. It's just silly to think otherwise.

I will say after playing MK:DA and MK:D, I had high hopes for this next game........then MK:A showed up and kicked me right between the legs.

well that's the thing. I didn't really need a twist on the original trilogy's story. It was great the way it is. Just some clarifications on somethings would have been great. From what I've heard its a complete redesign of the story. I dunno, I'll play through it and then make my judgement

I just read over the past couple of pages and the more I think about it, Razor and several others have a good point. If The God of War creators can be so involved in insuring something as minor as Kratos having a more golden color to his blade, why is it outrageous to expect character and story consistency?

@Fenix Your argument of "what was the last game you guys made?", is not a logical nor acceptable argument, it's pretty much an assertion of, "you've never done it, be quiet and don't criticize unless you've made a game before", which pretty much reminds me of when people criticize a government's policies and then someone else says, "you've never had to lead a country, you don't understand"

I'm a writer, it doesn't mean that non-writers can't criticize my work and I'm beyond crtique from them, that's just absurd and ridiciulous.

If you don't care about the little things, that's fine, but don't assert that people who do care about the little things are demanding perfection, consistent story elements and things like that are not unreasonable requests.

The twists are cool, I think, especially Liu Kang's. And I'm okay with them because they're plausible given that Raiden has changed things. The thing that bothers me though is the inconsistencies that are not plausible, unless Raiden sent a message back to a version of himself in a completely different universe. (Or maybe Raiden has done this multiple times, sending messages as far back as 500 years prior). Whatever the reason, there are things that don't make any sense, so NRS has alotta 'splainin' to do in de nex game.

Eh, I'm not comfortable with that given that this discussion has been story-related rather than gameplay and presentation driven. As a story device, MK2011 is insane laziness and clearly not the best they can do.

I've changed my stance on him, so you can count me in as well, guest character issues aside, at least we have an extra character to throw down with, heck he might even be fun to play with as well.

I don't mind his inclusion. Having a guest character, especially one as popular and fitting as Kratos, doesn't take away the MK feeling and focus of this game. He's just going to get it even more attention than it's already going to get due to it's increase in quality and presentation, so the more potential fans and purchasers, the better.

For what it's worth, I have read over a few summaries of the beginning of the story, without trying to spoil too much by looking a lot into it, and I think things are great. I think those who are open to change and understand that this game is setting a new path, and that things will change and twists and turns are present, everything we knew before doesn't apply here...will enjoy it. The ones who hate the story, are the ones who wanted it to be exactly like MK1-3 with very minor unimportant changes. So depending on where you stand, you should know if you'll enjoy it or not.

I've been in favor of Kratos' appearance in MK since the earliest rumors.

I would still prefer if he wasn't in, buuuuuuuuuuuuut I've warmed up to the idea of having him in the game as a guest character... So all in all, I don't mind.
