If you look closely, you can tell it's almost the same as his veil from MKA,
which is fairly similar to the ninjette mask (Jade's, especially).

i like rain but i aint feeling the mask i have to admit...

cant help but feel that rain has taken a step backwards in appearance. sure, he looks great, but in a very predictable mk-ninjary kind of way. not like his awesome armageddon look.

kenshi looks good too, although i wish they'd remade his deception look rather than the deadly alliance one.

i have no basis but i know that they leaked stuff in the past just to read our reactions. thats why the stuff was so called "leaked" by leaking a character instead of confirming it, they have all the free will to change the thing they leaked, smart move. if they would change him it would be minimal and just some tweaks. *very happy he looks like ninja instead of an prince*

LOL your logic doesn't really add up.

1. They've stated (even before MK9) that they always wanted Reptile to look Reptilian.
2. Klassic Costumes were most likely always planned considering this was a reboot afterall.
3. Your leak conspiracy theory actually can not be disproved.
4. What? Shao Kahn is what is not pictured. That is definitely Rain. He may not be 100% complete but it'll definitely be close to that.

True, but we still can't be too surprised if he looks more "ninja" than "prince" at this point , which is what drpvfx had a problem with, since it doesn't really sync up with the story.

I'll wait for a higher quality render before making any more concrete judgements, but I'd love it if his costume was a mix of both sleek, rebellious ninja with elements that revealed his cockiness, like hints of gold and rich patterns.

Yeah he said he always wanted Reptile to look Reptilian, but that's not what people wanted :/ I hate his lizard look, I much prefer him being a green ninja (not necessarily pallette swapped, though I'd rather have that than lizard Reptile. It was better when he was a lizard underneath, it gave him something special while also being the green ninja........(this is in response to an earlier comment, IDK how to quote on here)

Now when it comes to Rain, they should have a mix of ninja and prince, He IS a prince after all, but he was indeed a ninja at one time. With his current look it's okay, and they can have ninja elements in there, just make them a little different, for instance, his sash codpeice thing can be alot longer, and he have more of a royal appearence, maybe just make him fancier overall.

Actually, Rain was never a prince. He is a son of a god, so that makes him a demi-god. He was never an heir to the throne of Edenia - he just thinks he is.
