True and true. The only reason why I even mentioned it is because I'm not used to MK fatalities bothering me, it just seems odd to me, it's creative and interesting though.

The only bad thing I can say is......that I wish all the fatalities in this game were as creative as Freddy's.

On the fence about getting this one. I'm not totally against guest characters. I have an xbox, but I would have loved to play as Kratos. He looks so badass and fun to play as and I think he fits into the MK universe very well. If he didn't have his own game serious and was a MK-exclusive character, I think people opinions about him would be different.

Freddy though...I have a hard time finding him culturally relevant in 2011. The only movie I have seen him in was that Freddy vs Jason movie. I hear that it was a shit movie for the series, but taking that into consideration, I just couldn't relate well to the character. He is a child rapist right? It isn't something I would want to associate with MK. And his whole t-shirt look, I just don’t get how it looks cool. More importantly, I don’t see him as a fighter. MK is supposed to be about the best fighters in the realms. Freddy’s thing is he attacks teenagers in their dreams, were they can’t be protected. He seems like a coward. At least Kratos is supposed to be a badass fighter.

Gameplay wise... Even more slicing that Baraka. Slice slice slice. The noise does my head in. It might be actually different in gameplay though (I don't even notice Skarlett's screams anymore). And does it bother anyone else that he doesn't seem to open his mouth for his probably trademarked laugh? I don't know, doesn’t look like a fun moveset.

While I acknowledge my bias, I'm not sure whether I will get Freddy. I have the season pass so he is free for me.... But, I don’t know if I should just get the compatibility pack.
Does anybody know if he is likely to appear in arcade if I download him (does Kratos?)

well.... I'm not so upset about Freddy really anymore...I still don't agree w/ it but i've had a chance to calm over the past few hours lol....however, i still think it sucks they couldn't at least get the Robert Englund version......the new one is just so....horrible lol... you're supposed to upgrade..not downgrade lol

Yeah, I was exaggerating, but honestly, Freddy Krueger is like the dumbest idea I've ever heard. I will not play anyone that chooses to use him, even if he is rarely used or really weak.
Anyone that likes him... can you tell me why he's a good fit AND a better fit than any of the countless other characters that they could have and should have added instead?

Well after an entire day of stewing and how much i hate this. I wont care as long as this isn't as it says the FINAL dlc. that would kill me -_-

All downloaded DLC characters (and Kratos) appear in arcade/tag arcade ladders.
They don't ever show up in Test Your Luck, though, to my dismay.

I don't think he fits in Mortal Kombat. He's already in another game called King of Fighters as a little man called Choi.

@Darkhound I suspect it's because they have more time to work on the DLC character's fatalities than the regular cast.

Skarlet, Kenshi, and Rain all got very unique and pretty original fatalities, I just think with story mode, challenge tower, balancing and all that stuff, the fatalities for the main roster took a backseat, this time such limitations are absent with the DLC characters, so I think that makes sense for their fatalities being more innovative and fresh.

Yep. But the compatibility pack gives us an option. I don't mind that people who want to play as Fready verse me only. I'm glad for everyone that is happy with this character. I just may not want him to show up on Arcade or on my Chracter roster, if I have the choice.

Unmasked sub-zero rocks by the way. Roster almost complete if they skin Cyber-Smoke.

If you DL the pack you wont get freddy in ladder only if you DL freddy himself.
