I could buy that. Nice perspecive on Freddy. It'll be interesting to see how they weave his moves and his story in to the MK-verse. It's crazy, but in the span of 6 hours my feelings on this character have gone from complete and utter disdain to mild curiousity.

I'm kind of disappointed in the 4th DLC character to be honest. I knew Freddy and Jason were rumored to come out sometime but with all the hype and mystery behind that hidden pic I was thinking it would of been something bigger and more surprising. It's not that I'm not excited about using Freddy or that I don't think he's a good fit but I was just hoping it was going to be something truly unexpected.

I know a lot of you were hoping for Tremor, Hydro, Cyber Smoke, Frost, Movado, Fujin, Shinnok (as was I), Hornbuckle, Havik, Tanya, or a different guest character, ect. With all those potential candidates i was expecting Ed and NRS to dig deep and not use the rumored freddy or jason and maybe save them for a later date (october).

Essentially this could mean a long delay for another DLC character due to the fact that a character that could have been a perfect fit for a halloween download could not wait. If NRS had intentions of releasing more characters via dlc why wouldn't they release them first and Freddy in October. Just a thought...

I couldn't agree with you more! I am so disgusted at this news that I don't know what to think. I don't know why the developers at NRS would spend all their time and effort to make a serious, well rounded fighting game in MK 2011 just to cheapen it by adding a character to the roster that has nothing to do with MK, nothing to do with video games in general and really nothing to do with fighting for what? Just to make a quick buck or two? I'm really getting tired of crossovers in fighting games. Seriously though I don't think the guys at NRS could have given a bigger middle finger to the hardcore MK fans by releasing this news. If they wanna have these stupid ass crossovers then save them for the Vs. series type of fighting games. If I would've known that the 4th character would turn out to be this BS I would never have bought the GD season pass! Imagine if Picasso were to paint a beautiful painting but before putting it out for people to see and admire he takes a crap on it first; that's what i feel NRS has done to it's fans. And to really add insult to injury we don't even get the classic version of Freddy, but the new version from the sh**y remake that is easily the worst Nightmare movie by far! I love horror films and I love Freddy but he has no place in this type of game. Maybe if we're lucky NRS studios will burn to the ground before this crap can be released to PSN and Xbox Live!!

Of course this place would have a lot of negative nancies in here. When the announcement first popped up on my twitter wall, I was like ">.< Oh fuck...." then somehow I just did a 180 and was like "THIS IS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!" especially since I'm in the middle of a horror movie kick right now. I am totally going to support this, since I want Jason in there too and this is probably going to be the only time we're going to have Freddy and Jason in a fighting game(unless a studio gets the genius idea of making a fighting game of horror icons) plus if Hydro kicks as much ass in the Legacy finale as I think he will, then I'd like to have him as a DLC too, even though he looks like a real life Cyber Sub-Zero. I'm too spoiled this extended Mortal Kombat media life to want to let it die, with this POSSIBLY being the last of the DLC and there being no current plans to expand beyond Legacy.

I'm sure people would be fine and a lot happier with this announcement if he was not part of the 4 Season Pass characters (lets face it, you buy an MK seasons pass, you should get MK characters) and also if we knew for sure there would be MORE MK DLK eventually.

If he definitely is the last chaarcter we get, people have every right to be PISSED.
