But on topic, I'm m not the least bit interested in Freddy as DLC.

I too am used to Freddy portrayed as Robert Robban Englund.
He seems like a really cool DLC-character. BUT seeing as I got the 360 version and is very happy about it as we got no extra character a la Kratos. I will keep my MK ... MK. And not download Freddy as he doesn't belong in this universe :) But he looks really interesting though...

The time wasted to give Freddy and Kratos a gameplay could have been spent in another way, like creating entirely news characters that are related to Mortal Kombat.

I don't know them very well and I have only one thing against them : they have been included in MK9
I expected a new MK character.

But this is a simple mistake by NRS.
I want to thanks NRS for the 3 other DLC that are great, particulary Rain.
I never really been interested by his gameplay in UMK3, but now he is so good.

And for Freddy, it is not so important. I just don't have to dowload him, and I won't download the compatibility pack either.

I hope they won't add to much DLC now. Just Let the players master the characters they have, and save the others for MK10.

Lol! It's freaking Freddy! I'm cool with that though. Smart business decision...I guarantee people will buy. Like others have said, his moves are cool, fatalities are cool, everythings cool. I honestly would rather them save Reiko, Fujin, Shinnok, and etc. until the next game. They'll probably play a crucial role.

Exactly. It's a VIDEO GAME...A VIDEO GAME. It's not like Freddy is gonna kill you for real. PPL act like it's a life threatening matter. I feel the same as I did about Kratos - It is what it is. I don't take VIDEO GAMES, or any form of entertainment too seriously...geez. They're not putting a gun to ppl's heads like 'You better buy this shit .' It's optional. They gave us a GREAT game with better features than any other fighter out there. You got plenty of great combatants without ANY DLC...period. So they tried something different, BIG DEAL. I woulda loved to see Jason personally, but hey, I GOT A GREAT GAME anyway so I can't complain too much. People, I love MK just like everyone else here, but I realise that it is just a game. I'm not gonna cut down the work of a great team (NRS) just because "I" don't agree with a decision they made - more so the decision that "Warner Brothers" made...you know, the company that owns NRS.

You know what? I finally figured out why I'm okay with this. I remember when I was younger I always thought about how awesome a fighting game would be that consisted of every major horror movie icon pitted against each other in a bloody death match. (I know better now, but this concept is fucking boss when you're twelve.) There have been games like this, but of low quality.

I think I'm okay with Freddy in MK because it reflects a childhood wish. It may not be exactly what I wanted, but it's a taste. Freddy always was my favorite slasher, and he's in a fighting game that I would prefer over any other.

So yeah, I'll download Freddy. I may be baffled as to why he is in our universe, but you know what else? Fuck it. I won't deny myself the experience in some unjustified fanboy rage to simply prove a point. It's a free character. He seems to play well. I'll support NRS's hard (yet possibly unnecessary) work and sit tight, hoping they clean out their pipes and put them on the top shelf for the time being.

If anyone here feels that I shouldn't be respected due to my opinion, please grow the fuck up. You shouldn't be respected for caring so much. I never said I liked the idea of a guest character. They just happened to pick a guy who I am a huge fan of, even if the Nightmare on Elm Street series was an evolving chain of shit. Freddy is a horror icon, and I'm a horror nutcase.

Enough with the I'm not playing as him BS. The guy actually looks like he could own. He kind of reminds me of wolverine. I like the dual claws, how he plays up close, and his teleport to move you in. His fatality's look brutal and his xray isn't to bad. i am going to try him out. I cant wait for some of you ass hats to change your tune and find him as a balanced character.

Oh....and ED listened to you babies last time. You got Rain didn't you? You will probably see your Tonya, Reiko, Motoro DLC soon enough.

Well said. I too wasn't to fond of Rain, until now. I actually looked at him like a joke from the MK: Annihilation movie. I also agree that Freddy isn't as significant as ppl CRY about him to be. Every game has that character/characters that some ppl think doesn't belong. But you get over it, right? Well, at least I do.

I've been a fan since MK 1 in my local arcades.
I've owned/played every MK fighting game.
I've won 1 tournament, and lost dozens playing UMK3.
Speaking as a true fan, this is the most complete and fun experience I've ever had with a fighting game. The inclusion of guest fighters only enhances the experience. Three solid DLC fighters in as many months since release? That's pretty fucking great. Free costumes? Awesome.
Now, Krueger.

This game has around 30 characters to play as, and just about all of them exceeded my expectations. If Krueger plays well, I'm going to use him. If he plays REALLY well, I'm probably going to be beating you. Playing against him online will only make you a better player.
If you are seriously upset about this, maybe you shouldn't be playing games at all. You probably shouldn't be allowed out of the house, either. Stay safe in there where nothing changes, and everything plays by your rules. I hope it works out for you.
