I won't deny myself the experience in some unjustified fanboy rage to simply prove a point. It's a free character. He seems to play well. I'll support NRS's hard (yet possibly unnecessary) work and sit tight, hoping they clean out their pipes and put them on the top shelf for the time being.

If anyone here feels that I shouldn't be respected due to my opinion, please grow the fuck up. You shouldn't be respected for caring so much. I never said I liked the idea of a guest character. They just happened to pick a guy who I am a huge fan of, even if the Nightmare on Elm Street series was an evolving chain of shit. Freddy is a horror icon, and I'm a horror nutcase.


This is my opinion as well and the most sensible post in this thread.

Iim sick and tired ofpeples attitude here, people are not allowed to dislike freddy or else they are closeminded... ever start to think some people are not familiar with him and dont care much for him? Same way people dislike certain mk characters.

People are not allowed to not download the patch for their own purchased game, cause its selfish.. yet alot of people do not download the compatibility patch for the previous released mk characters...

They are not allowed to complain about the characters, ye tyou aare allowed to complain about them not getting it?

Complaining about poeple complaining is just as bad as complaing about the inclusion of a guest character, ( which i admit is ironic considering to what i`m doin...:p.)

I got a question for the xbox users, is it possible for someone to remove dlc chars after downloading at a later, does it remove it completely?

Well its a cool addition, but I think that it was not the right time to give us that.

We were waiting for Tanya, Reiko, Fujin, because we really love those characters.

Was not expecting this. But i have to say i like it. His moves look cool and his fatalitys look very original.

Cant wait to try him , but i also hope there will be more dlc in the future.

I dunno if it's just me but it seems that he has a move similar to skarlets red dash or whatever it's called.

I saw in the trailer where he slashed up after doing a startup animation, then he did the same startup animation but sweeped instead.

If this is the case, his mixups will be ridiculous paired with his teleport and ground claw.

Imma main him.

i'm not reading through some 33 pages, it's probably just a big flamefest now anyway.

but i will say that while i've always been a big Freddy fan, I am disappointed that we got him when so many MK characters are in desperate need of a revamp. I'm not really fan of crossovers in general though either.

glad dlc is optional

Uh...we already have a huge cast of MK favorites in the game. All of the DLC characters are BONUS characters. NRS doesn't owe you anything more than what they put in the game. Everything you get after the game's release is extra.

The only way people would be happy is if they did Armageddon in EVERY game where EVERY character was in it. Except, you know, Armageddon kinda...sucked. Because when you make that many characters, you lose quality in the rest of the game.

Seriously, the reactions I'm reading from some of the people online are making me uncomfortable. I feel embarrassed for certain people.

Freddy Krueger is a horror icon. He's creepy, he's a fighter, he can travel into different realms, and he's evil. How is he not perfect for Mortal Kombat? His dream attacks, the fire, the furnace, the blood squirting out of the ground like in NOES1, etc. I think the people who are overreacting to this news would enjoy playing as him, or against him, once they've calmed down.

As a huge MK fan, I say -- I would prefer Freddy DLC over any OLD MK character DLC. I didn't want to buy another old character anyways. This way, we get someone new, but he's familiar too.

I won't tell people to stop complaining, because it's their right. But really, there are bigger problems in this world.

How are people viewing DLC characters as "bonus" characters. They're not free, they're not bonuses.

I'm also sick of this "everyone's gonna be pissed no matter which characters get added argument." That's extremely facetious. A lot more people are going to be happy with actual Mortal Kombat characters than this controversial sell-out bullshit that they're adding now.

And the "don't download him" argument doesn't cover shit, either. It's pathetic how simple-minded people will act when they're sucking dick.

I swear I wish Mortal Kombat could get past gimmicks and just focus on developing their franchise.

Anything to make money I guess. Not many developers give a shit about the integrity of their franchises anymore.

Good thing SFxT is looking amazing, so far. Couple that with a new DarkStalkers, Skull Girls and a new DBZ fighter and I've got plenty to keep my mind off NRS's idiocy.

For the record. I'm not ever going to stop playing this Mortal Kombat. It's far too fun and has such a well designed engine. But I'm certainly pissed that instead of getting someone like: Fujin, Reiko, Havik, Nitara, Khameleon, Sareena or Shinnok, I get this sellout BS that completely takes me out of the immersion.

I am very excited about having Freddy Krueger in the lineup for MK9 because its something different. I have the season pass and I have all of the DLC characters and rarely use them because of all the great MK characters that were already present. So this is definitely not a total waste. After I download Freddy, just like Kenshi, Skarlet and Rain, I can choose whether I want to play as him or not. I believe NRS marketing strategy is great!

I'm not surprised with the amount of bawling.

The amount of "FUCK YOU ED BOON/WB/NRS! IMMA GONNA QUIT THIS PIECE OF SHIT FRANCHISE!"s is hilarious.

They didn't quit when the franchise was genuinely, truly bad and I'm gonna bet that after they had a shit and a nap they wont quit the franchise because Freddy is DLC.
