Just chiming in once again, the people who are raging at NRS and the people who are being intentionally antagonistic out of spite at people's disappointment with Freddy both need to grow up and get over themselves.

i dont really care whether its freddy or not. i knew i was going to buy the characters before i knew who it was. i have friends i play this game with, they might like him. besides, he looks like he may be fun to play as, and thats all i really play this game for. its an entertaining past time, that doesnt anger me nearly as much as playing COD online does >_>

You want to get mad at NRS for creating controversy? Shit, Mortal Kombat was built on controversy. Because it started out as a really shitty game. But it was so controversial at the time that it got people talking. People weren't talking about how shitty the game was, people were talking about how insanely over the top and brutal the game was. Remember this was 1992 and the most violent video games we had back then were Double Dragon (because you could actually use nunchucks on WOMEN!). But MK1992 was a shitty game.

Then it got better, then shittier, then WAY shittier, then so shitty it can only be described as the essence of purest shit distilled into 3D fighting game form, then they killed the franchise by crossing over with superheroes.

So NRS rises from the ashes of Midway, reinvents the franchise, goes back to its 2D roots, makes the SINGLE BEST ROSTER in the history of the series and fans fucking rejoice.

Then they put Freddy in the game and everyone's like "FUCK YOU, NRS! YOU RAPED MY CHILDHOOD!"

Seriously, enjoy the game.

Mortal Kombat has NEVER been better.

Freddy can't do shit to how awesome this MK game is.

And when all the casuals buy him and NRS has a ton of money to start making even more DLC, you'll finally get your useless fuckin' post-MK3 bullshit characters.

So, I haven't got the chance to go over the almost 1000 posts of this thread, but, here is my humble reaction and opinion:

Reaction #1: Complete disappointment that the mysterious character is another guest star and NOT a real MK Kombatant (you know, one of those many who truly deserved a shot).

Reaction #2: WTF....OMG....is this really happening....again?

So, after that sinked in and I started to watch the video, I have to admit that he looks cool.

1) Cool design.
2) Fun wicked gameplay and awesome special moves.
3) FANTASTIC and BRILLIANT Fataities! Kind of annoying to see this guest star getting better Fatalities than some of the actual MK warriors.
4) Amazing presentation + music.

Overall: I like what I saw. I'm actually impressed.

I'm honestly not a fan of guest characters and I'm still (very) disappointed that they pulled off this crap again. Another "huge and amazing" reveal dedicated for a guest star and NOT an actual MK character.

I understand the process and why this happens, but, it seriously irks me to see Kratos and Freddy getting more promotional love and a bigger deal of dedication than many of the MK characters that were revealed without any kind of special or humble treatment.

That aside, Freddy looks cool and I think I will get him. I hope this is the end of guest stars for MK in this game, though. I was very excited for a MK4, MKDA, or MKD character reveal...and I guess that won't happen anymore.

Really sucks that it wasn't an actual MK character. That is the main reason I'm disappointed it was this guy.
