No in playstation it's Kratos, in the future it will end up as flipside DLC slot which combines hidden characters and DLC togheter because there is a space-limit on the roster.

You probably have to push a buttom to make the tile flip and to reveal the next DLC/HIDDEN character, maybe even playable bosses end up there.

The DLC squares are still in those places, but there is an option for Hidden Select, as mentioned in the Text File.

What of those Tank characters are slow like in Dead or Alive? It only comes down to balance and it would be a total waste of ressources to create a model, x-ray, soundfiles for a character which isn't playable at the end.

Exactly, especially if the boss fights are boring as they were during the MKDA-MKA era. Also, I've always hated that you couldn't play the ladder with difficulty set to 100% from the start.

Now, I wish there was a CPU vs CPU mode as well, I wanna eat popcorn, drink Fanta and watch Kitana vs Mileena catfight.

Even if they are slow, MK has never made them balanced and i dont see it as a waste if i dont want to play/vs them online except for the ladder, if anything it shows that they put alot of time & effort to make bosses look great, Plus in tag or single you are always gonna see some noob doggin with them so no thanks

First post just to say how hyped i am for this!! MK fell off my radar after the first 3.. then stumbled on the demo & im back filled with nostalgia & all.
Been following the boards since & despite being in the minority im lovin the Smoke look. Mainly the fact he looks truly unique in a way well suited to his character.
As for the 2 Cyber-Subs its been said plenty in this thread the most likely reason (scroll within them for the DLC & Kratos characters) & i go with that.

And why in God's name would you go for THAT look when 90% of the fans say they prefer his MK4 looks AND you have Kra-fuckin-tos in the game, who looks pretty fuckin similar?

I can finally say my eyes did not fool me when I first saw this select screen. The one I saw of it though was really tiny but yeah...now that I see the clearer picture I realize that C. Subs takes up both DLC & Random select spots (WTF?) and according to the word going Quan Chi is being cut? I am skeptical at this point for that since April fools is really close. I am wondering where Kratos fits on the roster too though since this is a PS3 select screen being shown.
Also,Ed Boon just confirmed that "there is no on disc DLC" which also means something is odd here. Both DLC slots have C. Subs in them. I realized another thing though...the speculation on Random select seems to be that they are going to use other means rather than its own slot (like the older games,holding a direction and pressing select for example). I seemed to think this because some of the older pics had the random box but than newer ones have 2 DLC slots? I am guessing a DLC spot for each player. Which would explain why C.Subs was in both slots but back to my point...it also means Ed may have fibbed about on disc DLC. I have not read the leaks for the story so I do not know if his model was in the story mode or not so I am guessing if he is than like I was saying...Ed fibbed unless the roster is either a prank for the 1st or not the final build. The only way I would forgive Boon for the lie is if C. Subs was free...especially if he was mentioned and used in the story.
I am feeling skeptical about all this info because of April fools but I will ponder on this stuff awhile until things pan out.

I'm thinking that the previously named "DLC" slot will now be a general "UNLOCK" spot where you unlock super secret characters along with those you purchase with DLC. It explains why Goro, SK, Kintaro, Kratos, and C-Sub would share a spot.

So as others have said...following this idea...you are saying maybe they are changing the DLC spots to use hidden/secret characters also. I find that not to make sense because clearly unlockables are not DLC because they would be on the disc already right? It is a small nit pick but it does work I guess. If that were the case than it would explain why Quan is being removed because he would be in the DLC/Unlockables slot...Oh wait wasn't he in the data leak? Which would mean he is already on the disc right? Making Ed's word of "No on Disc DLC Characters" a lie? As I stated before...I am skeptical about some things but I will ponder and visit my thought on these things with a grain of salt.

Well Casselman... I have to say it is their own fault..: It should be clear that in times of the www stuff is leaked... So either they should kept it more hidden like the damn demo code or release it faster. Just look at the HP.

The game is 3 weeks away and we only have 6 characters released at the HP and nothing more. No official videos of all the other announcened character and anything.

Hell wikileaks is able to bring top secret files up... But NRS is mad that stuff is leaked?
