The act was still there. At the core, besides being a Portal Guard, I am a fan. And I have my fanboy moments. I will be the first to admit, I had a nerdgasm when I seen the pic. But what fan wouldnt at least have a sense of finality? Positive OR Negative. That was the end of some huge anticipation.

Again, it was inevitable. I just Hope NRS finds who's giving this media out and hangs them with their own intestines. Ruined a lot of the hype factor for release. If it wasn't me, it would have been MKU and then the first MKO member to visit the forums there.

It's their faulth for letting everything slip through. They really should learn from Blizzard.. 8 Years of D3 developement without the slightest hint that it even exists.

Who cares? The only two we didn't know about when this was announced was C.Sub and Quan. The others were shoe-ins. That and if we've learned from the other characters, their mug shots don't really tell us about how they look.

No sweat man,the cat was out of the bag already anyway. Your first apology was more than enough to show your respect to them. I bet they will show Mercy...pun intended.
Also,this roster image still leaves the fans talking and keeping the buzz going so that is also a good thing. I myself still am skeptical on the final result so don't beat yourself up over it. If it makes you feel better why not just post a link to another fan site hosting the image? This way the image is not showing in your thread. Just a thought glasses

Oh yes, compare a game no more visible than a text file on my hard drive and has no release date to a game that comes out in a month.

In this day and age at any point from about 3 months before release, everybody and their mother has their hands in your game and there's no way all of them are on the level.

This guy (or his friend or his friend of a friend) is probably a tester or works for the press and doesn't give a shit about that nda they signed.

It's still a problem because since Deception (but especially Armageddon) the entire game has been out there well before it's released. I mean what we have here is a screenshot that I'm not sure what the point of taking was, as it shows two of your in game "secret" characters (you get achievements for them and all). How exactly does something like this start making the rounds?

Plus, there are lots... lots of people on this site that know things they shouldn't. Way more than you'd expect.

Even if you favorite character is having now a appearance/look you disapproves, you gonna still buy the game ?

I'm sure 99.9% of members here will say : yes

It's 100% NRS fault if this information is being leaked on Internet : someone from the own NRS team is "backstabbing" and fucking off things, doing this purposely .... or maybe some "third-parties" employees are doing it ?

Remember : an ex-employee, who is bad treated and bad paid, or even "fired", if this same guy had access to privileged information, chances are this guy will seek revenge and so, do this kind of stuff : spreading around exclusive internal information.

Can happen to anyone, any enterprise, any business.

Then if there's someone who can still access files and crap like that to where he can publicly show us things that NS do not want us to see, they should know who they've fired or who's been getting little to no attention and fix it.

Despite that we fans might think that this is still fine since we're getting all this information, the fact that leakages and pictures of characters that haven't even been announced are being shown to us before the game is released, they need to seriously fix this issue.

I mean, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand how you need to treat employees, but if they're not going to speak up and say, "hey boss, I've been working for this company for ten years and I haven't really been appreciated with the way I've been getting treated and such," employees who feel that they need more respect has the right to speak up. Whether or not they have the balls to tell this to their boss, I'm sure the head of their department would fix something if something isn't to their liking. All bosses do that, I've worked at a bank last year, I didn't like some of the way my co-workers were acting towards me and I complained. They took immediate action to fixing that.

(Whether or not my co-workers liked that I did this, if you feel that you don't get treated kindly with the people you're working with, then you have the right to complain.)

But if someone they fired is doing all of this, then they seriously need to increase security up big time because that's just wrong. Okay, I don't really get why people would try to get back at their jobs, and in today's society, there are a lot of unstable people out there who might snap if they lose their jobs. But, if this is coming from the hands of a fired employee then this is the only time I will say that NS seriously needs to get their heads in the game and fix this issue.

Other than that, if they aren't doing anything to stop these leaks and crap like that, then I guess they might be fine with it, even though they may not be.

@Crow, I'm not sure if you were replying me, but I'd think you're familiar enough with human nature to know how this works. Wether it was innocent or devious, people sign papers saying they won't do this, then they do it. Period.

Oh, I know. Still... I've heard people actually say they got this information directly from employees. I'm not going to name names or drag it out, but someone once said to me they had lunch with some people who worked at Midway (at the time) and they told them classified information about the game.

I know it happens. I really hope it still doesn't and this is the media leaking it, but I'm sort of hesitant knowing what I do about what has happened before.

IMPORTANT QUESTION:

Is it possible that this pic is actually showing a 1P vs CPU mode?

There are two characters (one on the left- P1, and one on the right- P2/CPU) on the sides of the select screen, but only one character box is highlighted. That probably means that the P1 has already chosen its character (Cyborg S-Z) and is now deciding who to select as his opponent controlled by the CPU (the highlighted box has the letters "Cp" in the lower right corner if I'm not wrong).

Am finally scrolling through this thread little by little but yeah...I just realized that it is 1 vs cpu but...notice the highlight on the player 1 selection is on the arrows and not the box. The odd thing about that is the fact both arrows on each of the sides are highlighted. This would mean that one side is a placeholder I would think...I say this because the only purpose for 2 of the same slots is for the 2nd or 3rd players/cpu. Logically I am still skeptical to this being an intentional leak because many things are contradicting and seem unpolished. I think we still have some surprises ahead and this was just a sneaky way of revealing characters. Only time will tell...damn I need that Delorean Doc!

According to MKUtweets it was someone who worked at a magazine who took this image. They wiped the EXIF tags on it but it does say it came from a Motorola phone.

If someone has really good detective skills and has contacts in the industry it should be quite easy to track down who took it.

@Lycan, when you have your cursor on the bottom right / left boxes you can press in the direction of the arrow to "cycle" all the characters who are selectable from there. SC3/4 did the same system for any "edit" characters you've added to the game.

Its a safe assumption CSZ, Kratos, playable bosses and any DLC will be picked that way.
Edit; It bums me out tho that Quan Chi got his own box and CSZ didn't. I guess maybe the rationale was to keep people from "expecting" another character to be unlocked by way of an empty box, but with the rest of this barebones select screen it just seems lame.

Man. I feel really misrepresented as a Smoke/Sub fan by certain users, namely Milaana. I'm not against Smoke changing, or having hair. I'm against him having STUPID hair. If he had a cool hairdo, I'd be totally down for it. But I'm going to wait and see. As for Sub-Zero, I'm just going to miss having an ice ninja. I'm not against Cyber Sub in THIS game, I'm just worried I'll never get my ice ninja back. Idk, it's just that the concept is what drew me into MK in the first place back when I was, like 6. The only other place with Ice ninjas is Yu Yu Hakusho, and Touya is an effeminate weirdo.

Now that that's out of the way, Cyber Sub looks fucking badass and I can't wait to play him. I'm glad they did it, but I'm not sure I'm glad he's canon. Hopefully, whoever sticks will allow the other to be unlockable as a hypothetical character in future games.

Well I must say, didn't know what to expect with Cyber-Sub-Zero, wasn't happy with the idea but meh, he looks great imo. Let's hope he plays as good as he looks. About Smoke, I'm gonna wait until we see him in action before I render judgement.

BTW Cas, maybe this is praise from Caesar, but I just want to say personally, you handled it the best you could. You did a service to the forum and the site, and you did it in a way that was reasonable for all parties. Definitely better handled than all those other sites who just have the shit plastered all over their front page.

How can you whine over something you didn't see:

1) in action before
2) didn't even see in full picture yet, the hair ends half-way, so we all don't know what it looks like, are it spikes, is it Ludwig, is it smoketrail is it long is it whatever, we don't know yet so don't complain yet.

While the Human Smoke comparison to Chris Walken made me chuckle, I'm hoping that his in-game model looks a helluva lot better than the select screen. Also while I'm loathe to admit it, Cyber Subz looks pretty good.
