Lol imagine this is all an elaborate joke from NRS

Good and bad things for me:

GOOD: Amazing roster. I love the idea of Cyber Zero (i wish that this will be his official name!) and the look was amazing. I opened the pic and thought that was Smoke in the beggining. it took me a while to notice 'sub zero' at the bottom and i got chills. Along with Kenshi coming soon, i couldnt have asked for a better roster. I was gonna ask for Frost, but Cyber Zero is making up for it ;)

I dont care Quan Chi looks the same, i always liked this look, and i am sure this full body model will kick some a$$. Really cant wait to see full Sheeva & Smoke, i love their looks so far. I was never a fan of smoke cause i thought of him as a scorpion clone, but looks soooo much different, i am excited about him.
(Question: why do people bitch so much about his looks? there are A LOT characters that look like this, on Tekken and SF, but nobody complains about them).

BAD: the design of the select screen is still so dissapointing. Red background for the wallpaper? Red background for every character slot? I loved MK2 where they all had seperate themes in their boxes.. made them so unique.
Plus, i think the boxes are too small.
And the worst part for me is that everybody is facing up front.
Whats with that? it looks so cartooney and posey. I dont like it :( i think eveyrone should have is own look and stance, like they did in MK2. I loved the symmetry in that. The top left character was looking at the right bottom corner and the top right character was looking at the left. Perfect. Plus they had different looks on their faces. Remember reptile? kitana? that was awesome, different expressions, based on character.
here they all look the same.
i am really hoping this is not the final version (they could have leaked a fake one, as far as we know).
Gimme a new design of the screen with this perfect bad ass roster and this is the only game i will be playing for the rest of my life! P.S. Yes, Kabal looks dark and weird. Cool, but ...not Kabalish.

OMG, Cyber Sub looks even worst than I thought he would. I swear that is worst than zombie Liu.

Well, if this proves to be financially and critically successful it might finally get rid of the baggage the "GEEWUN OLD SKHOOL MK" fans and start something different instead of reiterating the same bland stuff.

However, this game still panders too much to the same ideas that have been in focus ever since the 90s. How many times do I need to see Scoprion in conflict with Subs and Quan Chi before this gets finally solved?

Some of those pics look really ugly. Makes me think it's a April fools joke. And it probably is. It will be funny if everything in the data leak would be a great big april fools joke from NRS.

I'd lose all respect in the Team, cancel my preorder, and disown MK if that happened.

When the leaks first started happening I really thought this was gonna be the case but with how much has come out now I really doubt it...would be a pretty awesome joke though. I suspect there will be some sort of trick/joke come April 1st.....best day of the year IMO.

BTW I also agree with what ReptileFinally said about people not having pics of CSZ for everyone to see, OK fair enough its not exactly a well kept secret but some people may not want to see the design till the game comes out. The need to have him as a pic or sig cant be that great that you cant wait another month.

There's Really an order:

The mAin Characters are ontop
Sonya,Jax,Kano,Stryker Are those "AMERICAN" Type.
The Ninja's are together to.
The Enemies are grouped together on the bottom

This just reminds me of the video of the Challenge Tower. Remember everybody seeing a greyish Cyber Ninja which looke like Cyrax at first and was thought to be Smoke? Seeing that Cyber Sub-Zero seems kinda greyish (at least from a far) and has some Cyrax features, it's safe to assume it was him.

I'm one of the old school fans of MK and I like my classic characters from the past. I'm glad this game is doing all this for us and bringing them back to current gen.
But after this, it has been enough. Time to move on. So I'm glad they are making drastic changes like Cyber Sub Zero (hell, there is a whole clan of Sub-Zero's, right?! So a human one can always appear again). Time to pass of the torch to others. Let others be the new main characters. For a next MK, instead of following our current mains like Liu Kang, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Scorpion, we could follow characters like Kabal, Cyber-Zero, ... as an example.

I still think the worse character incarnations have been
1. Zombie Kang
2.Albert Einstein Smoke
3. Cyber Demon Smoke
4.Dinosaur Reptile

Cyber Sub looks pretty good, even though the thought is still revolting.

Loved all of these.

It's Cyrax, look at him. All 3 cyborgs have a unique face. How can people still not see this?

sorry, im not gonna read through 20 odd pages so im just gonna make my observations (which have most likely been made a million times already)!

- whatever you think about CSZ, surely, we can all agree that he does in fact look fucking awesome??!? shits all over the other cyborgs, and they all look great too!!

- quan chi looks cool, nothing really new and im glad, love his look.

- it now appears that quan chi is playable from the start? either that, or sheeva is also unlockable, as she'd look pretty silly at the bottom by herself from the start.

- smoke does indeed have that afro. gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he looks much better in game (nrs havent let us down with a single character so far). i think its great that he has hair, sets him well apart from the other ninjas.

- on second thoughts, no matter how he looks in-game, smoke just looks ridiculously silly in the select screen.

damn, i just cant make my mind up about CSZ. he looks great, but i just keep on looking from him to regular sub at the top and feeling kinda sad that sub will never be ninja again.

oh and finally, a massive up yours to all those posters who constantly condescended me when i and others tried to predict the final select screen, constantly telling us "26 isnt the final number, jeez". well, yeah, it fucking was. so there. and by the way, i got the roster SPOT-ON, about 6 months ago. *smug smile*

I can't believe i'm the only one being VERY happy with this roster, I actually love Quan Chi with tattoos, he could have removed them in MK4 and re-added them in MKDA? Anyway I would never have thought I actually liked CYber-Zero's model, but it actually looks beautiful, i'm happy its DLC, as its probably end up as a flipside space, where all DLC characters end up and you can flip the tile to see the other DLC characters there.

Some characters look really ugly in their pictures, but I don't care reallly, then they are more beautiful when you see them fighting! And I love it that not all Ninja's are clustred togheter, this is a cool randomnized roster!

Cyber Sub zero for the win..: Finally some love for him and he truly looks stunning!

better than ninja Sub and as bad-ass as the other Cyborgs if not better

I was assuming. I don't remember the screenshot that good anymore, just that it looked like Cyrax and had a greyish color.
And if you look at Cyber Sub-Zero, he has some features like Cyrax (more rounded than Sektor is). And also some Noob features.

Wonder what those tentacles things from his ears to his mouth are... wonder what there function is, otherwise it's quite redundant, even from a design viewpoint.

Is it possible that this pic is actually showing a 1P vs CPU mode?

There are two characters (one on the left- P1, and one on the right- P2/CPU) on the sides of the select screen, but only one character box is highlighted. That probably means that the P1 has already chosen its character (Cyborg S-Z) and is now deciding who to select as his opponent controlled by the CPU (the highlighted Quan Chi box has the letters "Cp" in the lower right corner if I'm not wrong).


I'd love 1P vs CPU mode to be available and I know some others were asking for it too. What do you guys think?

I find it hilarious that people complain abour Smoke's hair when I was told I was stupid and gay for complaining about Kitan horendous hair animation and
Sindel's lack of volume in her's.

Somewhat it's not ok to bitch about women hair, but it's more that normal to be mad about that sacred pallet-swap character.

I, personnaly, thing Smoke lokes fine. He has a bird like quality to him. A bit like Reptile.
Can't wait to see the whole cast renders.

Because the MK fanbase at large is a conglomerate manchild.

Anyway that is over now, I'm willing to give everybody (including smoke fans) a chance.

They should give smoke a chance, they didn't even see him in action yet, they only saw a hair and they complain because they are tough heterosexual boys and they don't want hair on their favorite manly characters, its a bit crybaby I know but whatever.
