I'm not saying Kratos being in the game is BAD for the people that want and like him in the game. He's bad for ME because, no, I DON'T want Kratos in the game, and thankfully I have an alternative.

Just be happy with what you have. You get your Kratos-ified version and all the stab-happy, generic rage that he brings and I'll get my 100% MK version, free of any superfluous guest characters. We're all happy. Why is that such a problem for some people?

Back on subject. Yay Jade. So, have people started thinking up X-rays and finishers for her yet?

I'd love to see her whip out her staff, twirl it into some poor sap's gut, and then smash him over the head or in the jaw with it. And her MK:Deception fatality with the head impale, flip, rip remains my personal favorite. Would love to see a new take on that.

Her X-Ray could be BRUTAL with the staff. Something like smashing their spine in with it or their skull or swiping it across someone face like a baseball bat and cracking their jaw

If Boon said all the MK characters they wanted to include were already in the build, THAT IS NOT A DEFENSE. It does not change the fact that they could have included another MK character, but chose not to.

There's no way around it: they had enough development time for anther MK character, had everything in their power to make another MK character, and they made Kratos.


Console exclusives have been banned in previous tournaments, so it's only logical he'd be banned in this scenario... but hell, that's the BEST case scenario! Imagine if he wasn't banned. 360 owners who participate in tournaments have to fight a character they have no matchup experience against. That's bullshit.

Also, imagine if the top tournament player in the MK scene uses Kratos. The most proficient player in the Mortal Kombat community doesn't even use a Mortal Kombat character... you know how embarrassing that would be? Embarrassing as fan who has supported this series for so long and has been trying to convince people that the game has a story that's worth their time?


Any product that takes it's artistic presentation seriously is beyond guest characters. If they put Master Chief in Lord of the Rings, are LOTR fans being selfish by not wanting him in there? Non-diehard fans want Kratos because they don't give a shit about the artistic side of MK.

Also, Kratos is not subtle. I love friendships, and I love the humor, but a new character and a ten second finisher is not the same thing.

Finding the links will be a bit of a challenge since there are so many interviews and they are all the same but I am fairly certain Boon mentioned this several times. He might not have referred to it as "Kahn will be playable", but he certainly did say "bosses will be unlockable and playable".

Both. But I also maintain that fitting Kratos into MK proper would be the easiest thing ever. The guy gets killed and sent to Hades every third tuesday in his own series. It's not some huge stretch to say that Hades and the Netherrealm could be the same place.
