If the 360 doesn't have any extra MK characters, and Kratos is in the PS3 version...he didn't take place of any MK characters. Boon has stated that Kratos never took the place of any character, all the characters in the game are the ones they wanted in it. You are simply ASSUMING he took the place of a character, yet you weren't part of the development process or planning, so you have zero proof of your accusations. Besides, anyone who they possibly didn't have time for, or aren't meant to be in the official game but just extra, are always DLC possibilities.

The argument about tournament play is a bit premature, considering you have no idea whether he will be or not. You are just ASSUMING he will be unbalanced, yet you have no real proof of this.

The ONLY people so far that I have seen actually get upset over this and make a big deal about Kratos, are the extreme diehard MK fans who look at MK in a light it has never been in. They treat MK as a game that takes itself seriously. They look at it as a game that is meant to be all about it's roots and never willing to branch out for fun. They look at it as a game that is meant just for the core fans, and never tries to appeal to mass audiences. This is YOUR vision of MK, yet it's never actually been that way. MK has always been a humorous game with lots of jokes and dark humor to lighten the mood a bit. It's always branched out for fun with things like Chess Kombat, Motor Kombat, Puzzle Kombat, Pong, Friendships, Babalities, and other MK characters appearing in games like NFL Blitz, Sci: Ops, Unreal Tournament, NBA Jam etc. as well as the crossover with DC superheroes.

The fans take MK way more seriously and selfishly than the MK creators do. They think MK is above everything. They treat MK as if it's beyond guest characters, fun joke modes, silly antics, and crossovers. Yet the MK team has ALWAYS included that type of stuff both subtle and the obvious. Any interview they have given, has pointed out they love the idea of all this sorts of zany madness and the idea of MK mixed with other stuff be it other fighting franchises or other silly types of games.

I digress...My point is, certain hardcore fans think of MK as something that it has never been: A serious game with no humor or fun elements just for the hell of it. With things like Friendships, Pong, Animalities, Babalities, Silly Fatalities, Mokap, Chess Kombat, Motor Kombat, Puzzle Kombat, Crossovers, Characters in other games...why the HELL do certain people have such a hard time accepting Kratos as a simple guest character? The only reasons you have, are your own assumptions with no proof or facts backing them.

Because MK is so big on the tourney scene. I'm sure his presence will totally be the reason MK2011 doesn't make EVO.

@ MKBooted it is possible that two normal, sane people can read the same statement at the same time and still come to completely different conclusions, it's not that much of a stretch of the imagination.

Depends on the mentality of the person. With people who look for racism in any comment about skin colour etc, there's not much you can do with them.
