Hmmm, what happened to Tanya?

She doesn't appear chained up at all anymore, just two blank areas when you have both Kitana and Skarlet fighting one another. And I tried out a number of other parings and not Tanya once.
Could it be, she is the 4th entrant???

I sincerely hope not.

I would love it but I have my doubts. I can't imagine NRS having Tanya being the 'mystery character'.

You're just hoping that dragqueen Fujin makes it.

About Me
Characters for next game please: Tanya, Rain, Ermac, Cyrax, Nitara, Sareena, Jade, Reiko and Mavado

I thought this too. Really hope it is her, and then they make more characters and the first is Fujin, then Reiko, then Shinnok and finnally all bosses playable (But faster weaker versions)

I sure hope it is Tanya! She's da best female in MK history!

I would love it if Tanya is the 4th DLC character. And if so, I hope NRS does a good job on making her original. Her MKD look was pretty original and it looked good as well, but she could use some more originality in the gameplay department. Though she has some nice special moves, her fireballs are somewhat dull.
I made a thread about what I would like to see should Tanya become DLC.

I know, Tanya hasn't been announced as a DLC character yet, but it is a big wish of mine that she will be so therefore I included her into this discussion. This is more or less a wishlist of mine, how I would like her to be represented in-game.
APPEARANCE:
I would love to see her in an updated version of her MK Deception main outfit. It is a beautiful look for her, however, I do like the design of her MK4 and MKD alternate outfits which I would like to see being presented as well.
First, here's her bio picture from MKD with her main outfit:
I would basically want her outfit to look like this, with a few changes. The leotard should remain the same, but with her alternate design on instead.
This is the design I am talking about:
As you can see on her leotard in her MKD alternate outfit, she has a sort of black arrow design which I would like to see being transferred to her main outfit. Also on her sash, gloves and boots. I would like her boots to remain somewhat the same as in her MKD main outfit, but her gloves should be like her MK4 outfit.
The choker should remain the same as in MKD, but I would like the sash to be attached to a loose hanging belt, and the sash should be longer, almost touching the ground.
As for her hair, I liked what they did in her MKD alternate outfit, keeping the bangs of her main outfit, but gave her the braid from MK4. So I would like for that to appear again.
Her eyes... I am rather torn if she should have her brown eyes from MK4 or have them all white like in MKD. I think it would be cooler to see them be all white to give her an edge of mystery, but I'm not sure if it would fit her character in the current timeline. Either way, I do NOT want to see the domino mask. I would rather she just had some dark make-up around her eyes. It's the one thing I really hate from her MKD outfits.
I hope that gave a nice picture of how I would like her to look like.
PERSONALITY:
In MK4, she had this seductive and flirtatious attitude to her and it would be great to see that return in her battle intro and win pose. I am thinking something like Anna Williams from the Tekken series or Catwoman from Batman, being a tease without being excessive or psychotic like Mileena is.
But as seen in her MKD bio and and ending, Tanya is quite the treachorous mastermind. She is intelligent, cunning and has a great survival instinct. I can easily imagine her using her looks to seduce men (and maybe even women as well) to get her will done, like the temptress villain she is.
GAMEPLAY:
I would like for Tanya to move with speed and grace in her fighting style, keep it feminine. I was thinking maybe something like Anna Williams in the later games of the Tekken series, using quick jabs and slaps for punches and stylish spinning kicks.
I do NOT want her to have a weapon. I think the boomerang from MK4 was an incredibly stupid weapon to give her and completely out of character. And besides, Jade already has a boomerang-like weapon. I like the bladed tonfas from MKD, but Stryker already uses tonfas, or nightsticks as it's also called, so I would rather that Tanya didn't have a weapon. As a sorceress, she already has her powers to rely on which is more than enough, in my opinion.
As for special moves, let's have a look at those she already has:
Surging Blast: A fireball. So far it hasn't been anything but that which is rather boring, but she is the only female character to embrace the fire element and I would like for her to do so in a creative way. Instead of just shooting a fireball, it would be nice to see her personality being put into the move. I would like for her to make a blowkiss towards the opponent which is actually spitting the fireball at them as she blows.
I already know now that people would argue against that, as it might be too much like Sonya's Deadly Kiss move and her Kiss of Death fatality, not to mention Sindel's spit fireball move. However, I still think it would fit Tanya to shoot her fireball like that.
Aerial Surging Blast: A fireball shot downwards while in air. Again, I would like to see her blowkiss the fireball at the opponent.
Human Cannon Drill: One of my favourite special moves of Tanya's, mostly because another favourite character of mine has the same move - Cammy from the Street Fighter series. What she does is basically spin towards the opponent with her feet first like an arrow, her feet imbued with fire for some magical damage as well. My only problem with this move is the recovery time if the opponent blocks it which is basically the same as Mileena's roll move. It makes it a huge risk to use it, so either take away some of the recovery time or make the move worth it, like speeding it up or having it do some more damage when hitting.
Split Flip Kick: Another favourite move of mine where she basically spins around in a forward flip kick imbued with fire, smashing her heel down at the opponent and ends in a split. In MK4 it looked like she was spinning around herself in an impossible way while in MKD she made a forward somersault. I prefer the MKD animation out of the two, but either way, the move takes time to perform which means it is easy to block. So like the Human Cannon Drill, either fix that and make it faster, or make it worth the while.
Find Me: An invisibility move where she spins around herself and disappears in a burst of flames. It's a nice move, but it's also more or less stolen from Reptile and Smoke and thus not very original. It adds to Tanya's deceptive personality, but that's about it. Unlike Reptile and Smoke, Tanya is not an assassin who hides in the shadows. She's a sorceress who wields the elemental flame. I'm rather torn about this move.
FATALITIES:
As for her fatalities, I don't like any of her MKD ones. It didn't fit her character at all. However, the Neck Snap fatality from MK4 was perfect and I really missed it in MKD, so of course I would like for that to return. Her Kiss of Death fatality from MK4 should never return, in my opinion. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. So her second fatality should be completely new, maybe including her fire powers in some way.
For example, should we keep the Kiss of Death idea for Tanya, then maybe after she's kissed the opponent he/she would burst into flames. But then again, it is still a rip-off of Kitana's and Sonya's versions of the fatality.
...

Three reasons why she should be in-
-She has a vagina-Too many penises running around.
-She goes great with Rain
-She's currently the most requested DLC character

From Ed's twitter:
RT @Bentzenior @noobde I think the last DLC is Tanya because she's in the background, am I right? You know i'm right!
Noobde: Nice try :)
With the mystery fighter supposedly being a new entrant to the Mortal Kombat tournament, I wouldn't be surprised if it's another rumored character.
Tanya is the most requested unconfirmed character at the moment in this community. If this summer's DLC sells well, she might have a chance down the road.

Well, if the unnamed secret dlc character is supposed to be a new entrant, then I guess the only one would be Tremor. If the kombatant is female, Kia or Jataaka?
The nostalgia trip reminds us that Tanya was the only new female in MK4 and replaced our dear Mileena and Kitana and that she absolutely never lived up to her potential as the next female baddie(Mileena outshined Tanya in games she wasn't even in....)
I for one want Tanya because of what her character can be if she's given the same treatment as many of the other characters this time around...... Just not the same treatment as Mileena....... *sigh*

I love Tanya, my most wanted DLC after Rain. There is just something so mysterious about her, that I'd like to see further explored in this game. And she has a different look, she stands out.
Plus, I really think this game could use at least one more female.

She's a sexy dark skinned edenian badass.
If Jade can stand out to you, then so should Tanya.
Besides, all the edenian alums are in, she's the only one left.

Heeey, I liked Taven. I also like the explanation on how Daegon was the one to create the Red Dragon. I've always been a fan of creation stories. Daegon as a character, however, wasn't really that good.
I do like Taven though. I hope to see him return.

I prefer Daegon, actually. And Blaze counts as an Edenian, too.

There's actually been a discussion about this before. Blaze is a creation, so he doesn't really have a nationality as such, however, should he have one, then indeed it would be Edenia.
Ermac is created from the fallen warriors of Edenia, but he is made by Shao Kahn in Outworld, so does that make him Edenian or Outworldian? Personally, I'd say he is Outworldian due to the fact he was created there.
And what about Noob? Is he Chinese because his living self is from China, or is he from Netherrealm due to being incarnated there as a wraith? And the same goes for Scorpion - Japanese or from the Netherrealm?
This is rather off-topic though, and I apologize for that, but I like thinking about these little details other people find so insignificant. :P
As for Tanya, what do you people think her role would be should she appear in this game? She doesn't stand out as a traitor of Edenia before MK4 which supposedly happens AFTER this game. Also, Edenia is still a part of Outworld, so she wouldn't really betray Edenia by helping out Quan Chi and Shinnok. And since there is no Edenia, do Quan Chi and Shinnok really need Tanya?
