Sorry, I heavily disagree with this.

We've only seen Sonya's X-ray and 2 of her special moves (ring toss & cartwheel) and that's it. No intro animation, no win-pose animation, no end-of-round win pose, no fatalities. There are hardly any combos of hers to find in the clips. Considering she was one of the newer released characters, she's been featured less than most of the before released characters in the MKasts. Also, in the MKast she was revealed she was practically just a punching bag, hardly anything could be said about her gameplay.

Nightwolf, Reptile & Sektor were all featured in the debut trailer, they were all featured in that 10min+ E3 demo video. They were in the MKasts too. We've seen their win poses, x-rays, fatalities, numerous special moves and combos. Sektor has had a render released as well.

Cyrax and Kitana were featured in that 4min+ GameTrailers demonstration by Hans Lo, they both had their artwork released, Kitana also got a render released. Both were featured in magazines too. Cyrax is also featured in that Sub-Zero fatality video, just as Kitana is in Mileena's fatality video. She's also featured in her vignette as well. We've seen their intros, win poses, fatalities and numerous combos as well.

So all of these characters (Nightwolf, Reptile, Sektor, Cyrax & Kitana) were promoted quite enough, to be honest. We've seen enough of them to be pleased. Their gameplay & combos, win-poses, special moves, intros, fatalities and x-rays.

The only ones that's a bit forgotten is Raiden. Apart from the very first debut trailer, there hasn't been any other clips featuring him, except for the Shadows Trailer, but yeah, those are just shadows. We've seen no gameplay, win-poses, fatalities or x-ray from him.

The same can be said of Shao Kahn, but at least he was also featured in that Kratos trailer.

Promotion via magazines is hardly comparable, if comparable at all, to the actual internet based promotion via clips/trailers. Besides, sites like this one don't even allow magazine scans.


So yeah, I don't mean to sound harsh, but I don't think you're being realistic when comparing Sonya's promotion to the promotion of other characters you say we've seen little to nothing of (Reptile, Cyrax, Sektor, Kitana, Nightwolf). We've actually seen plenty of them. Not as much as Sub-Zero & Scorpion (and Mileena), but there's enough material to keep us happy.

Sonya's been promoted more than Ermac, Sindel, Jade, Goro & Stryker of the so far revealed characters, but not more than characters revealed before her. All of those characters have had more screen-time than Sonya. Sure, she might have been in numerous magazines, but again, magazines cannot match the internet (videos > still pictures + words).

It's cool that we can get a better look of the screenshots. I'm personally looking forward to both Ermac and Sindel. It's kind of cool that they're going further with the visible damage. I wouldn't want Ermac to have the Teleport Punch. I think it's unnecessary for him, and I'd rather see him with other special moves.

No, you misunderstood me.

I actually agree with everything you said and that's why me (and others) complain. But there is a difference between the special and official marketing/promoting of a character that I talk about and the showing off videos that you talked about (such as the case of NIghtwolf, Cyrax, Kitana, and Reptile, for example).

Besides Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Mileena and maybe Johnny Cage and J, no other character has gotten any kind of special promotion/marketing treatment.

We've seen plenty of videos of the others because those characters were playable in those builds and most of it came from fans recording it (thank God for the fans!), but, we've seen nothing special dedicated for them (besides some moments in the Mkasts) as it used to happen before when someone was revealed. That's the problem.

Yes in the second picture, no in the third. I think it's the arched brow look that's giving you the impression. But on that third one where she's kicking at Jax, Sindel looks straight-up old.

Great images. Thanks to Razor for pointing out the Sindel eye-bleeding damage, I had never noticed that before. Totally fits her "creepy" vibe, and I'm glad there's some sort of variety in the damage of female characters.

Sonya looks so sexy, I would move to Alabama and marry her screenshot at this point (you can do that kind of thing there, right?) Am I still the only one who fricken' loves (or even notices) the exaggerated collar of her vest going behind her neck? It looks sick! The color is absolutely perfect for her. I love the bands, and I love her skin tone (it looked too pale in other lower-quality videos, but I can see she's got a nice golden tan going).

P.S.: Did she lose some of her hair in that second screenshot or is that just a graphics glitch?? Uuh, no thanks!

Well, at the *very least*, these prove she has at least one new trick-
that Low Star Screamer. Also betting she keeps her crazy slide/kick from MK:D/MK:A, and that the flight returns (it was originally what made her moves special, after all!)

Sonya looks far too much like Bridgette Wilson, which is the worst incarnation of the character ever (though Jeri Ryan is poised to steal that spot).

Sindel's costume looks like a variation on her MK3 costume, which I like (as much as I like any MK3 costume...yech). Extremely boobalicious, which makes sense given the thematic nature of female costumes in MK2011 so far. I'm not excited to see Sheeva's HD microthong.

Can't see enough of Ermac in that pic to really make a call on the outfit.

SIndel needs more of a costume, I like the regal tails and collar but something jut isn;t meshing right. Tone down the revealing in betweens and just keep her cleavage and legginess. Not all the women need to be wearing nothing at all. Sindel should have bigger hips too. She's the queen, and a mom. ^^ Sonya looks bad imo. She looks very delicate and weak.

I like Bridgette, she contributed alot to Sonya, to make her what she is today.

Agreed. With her and all of the other characters, you can tell NRS took great pains to make everyone's face unique and realistic. Adds a lot to their attitude and character.

Sindel really looks like a mature older woman...I love that. A nice break from the standard in fighting games.
