posted05/16/2012 01:51 AM (UTC)byDarkKard4It doesn't seem like the MK team would ever want him as a main character. Its as if they wanted to make him a non-cannon character in challenge tower only from what i gather. John Vogel also talked about him on twitter in a way that implied he was never apart of the MK series. This is coming from a guy who has been in charge of the story for a long time.
And another thing, some people on youtube are saying that him being considered to be a character in MK trilogy is a lie. I actually don't think he was ever considered to be in ANY real MK game. Because by now they would have included some old sketches of him in the Krypt or something.
Do you guys think the MK team takes him seriously like the other characters?

Well I still hope he will someday make it in. If its a joke or not I think his appearance has given his fans some new hope.
Also I don't know if there would be any concept art of Tremor for MK trilogy because all they would have done was change the color of an existing character.

He might never (hopefully) become part of the main roster, but his appearance in the Vita Challenge Tower shows that he is not forgotten. I think Tremor fans should accept this nice little treat, because it might be the closest they will ever get to actually play as him in a real MK fighting game.

He was rumored to be in consideration for alot of games but till this day none of it seems true. Including the trilogy rumor. For all we know, its just a miscolored Ermac and nothing more. It almost seems like the MK team never bothered with him in the least and that his only purpose was his special forces appearance which was a game made by Tobias before he left early during its production which in turn was given to some other stooge to take over. Boon said he had nothing to do with that game. I can see why. It was horrible.

I could do without Tremor. There are better (and even bad) characters who more so deserve a slot on the roster.

I think this is their way of saying that they acknowledge Tremor and the Tremor fans and possibly he'll be a part of the roster real soon
After and if Tremor is included in MK10, I don't want any new characters for a while, they need to expand on the characters introduced in the 3D era first.

I agree. It makes me think, was he ever at one point created for the main games (like a work in progress for any of the main game)? In my opinion, I don't think so. I think his appearance in the challenge tower was just a silly one-off they decided to do. They want him to stay a side game character from what i gather with the MK Teams opinions about him.
I think they wanted to troll the crazy fans who harassed them on twitter. So they made a palette swap of Noob at the last minute and gave him Jax's moves. Didn't even bother giving him a fatality.

That. Unfortunately speculation will now run rampant over an MK10 appearance. If it was meant to silence, it's just going to get people talking.

Apart from the powers of earth, which I do not understand the appeal of Tremor, because their only involvement was the worst game of the franchise (which also had the worst and least relevant history), it's just a change of palette (plus one) of a ninja generic. In addition to performing a function already saturated, a member of the Black Dragon (because we have Kano, Kabal, Kira, Kobra and Jarek). And the powers of earth can be given to another character. Furthermore the inclusion of it in the main cast will begin to raise questions about the other bosses of the game (Tasia and No Face), since for the same reason, to a MK4 Costume becomes a character.

Apart from the powers of ice, Sub-Zero is just a palette swap, apart from the power of telekinesis, Ermac is just a palette swap. In case you don't get it, I'm calling your argument pretty flimsy.

Actually right now all we have is Kano and Kabal

No it won't, no one likes them.

I feel like you don't speak english and this was run through a translator.
Tremor's appearance in MK9 is a mere reference to his joke status and trolling of the whiny fanbase, who for whatever reason want yet another ninja character, as if we didn't have enough of them already. His appearance in MK9 is more or less signifying that while he is not forgottent, his place is exactly that - just joke character on the sidelines. If NRS want to introduce character with earth powers, I believe they would be more creative than creating another ninja.
Sub-Zero and Ermac are not palette swaps for the last few years. Tremor in the MK9 and before, was always a mere palette swap. He never had original costume, even in MK9. So he is exactly that: palette swap with earth powers. While the concept has potential, his appearance does not.
Bullshit.
Some people even like characters like Hydro or Durac, so it is unquestionable that there are some people out there who like those characters.

I doubt Tasia and No Face will have any kind of other appearance. Kia and Jataaka only appeared in one other game after Mythologies and that was Armageddon. They were only featured in the conquest mode in that game to serve as enemies for a section in the game.
I could see those two assassins becoming more of developed characters rather than these two other characters, because I've seen people asking for them to make another return... Even as playable characters. I'm not going to say that no one likes No Face and Tasia, but, I have yet to see ANYONE state that they want to see those two appear in another game. Not because it's based upon likeness, it's just... I've yet to see anyone say anything about seeing them again.

I think it has more to do with him getting cut from MK Trilogy. I think a lot of fans felt like he at one point was planned to be in the main roster but never got the chance, so he deserves a shot. And as far as I know No Face and the other Special Forces characters were never planned to go into the main fighting series, except of course for Jarek.
Also I think a lot of people would like an Earth manipulation character out there. We already have all the other elements represented, so why not rock?

Keep dunking your Kenshi breadsticks into your Skarlet sauce, people! The main course isn't coming for a while, and you never know when it's going to be disappointing.

I have no issue with Tremor, save for one. If he gets put in, people will start crying and begging for more rumored or fan-made characters, and that's just going to get aggravating.
I will be pissed if 'Dark' becomes a playable character.

Some felt that way because they all believed some silly, though widely believed, rumor that the miscolored rain/ermac in the trilogy manual was him and he supposedly got cut at the last minute but thats just a bunch of false assumptions made by fans. Especially when the MK team never confirmed it. It turns out he was never in consideration for a spot in trilogy. He probably wasn't even a real character until Special Forces.
I guess thats why Ed Boon is so surprised by the requests for him since he, nor any of he special forces characters, was never considered a real cannon character by the team.
We still don't know if they are trolling with his latest appearance as the challenge tower itself is full of non cannon characters and tidbits like Cyber Skarlet.

People will never shut up. Even if they get what they want, they can still find something to complain about. If Tremor becomes a fully playable part of the roster some day, I am sure there will be fans who are unhappy with how he looks, his moves, fatalities, story, his hair, the high heels, his slutty outfit... you get my point.

I saw the petition on trmk. Some MK fans are kinda... idiotic. They actually want the challenge tower version to be released as DLC. This is so desperate, i can't.

Termor was a character in Special Forces and even if Special Forces isn't considered canon, that's still more than could be said about Skarlet until last year. The fact that he was already in a game, and is making his appearance now in the Challenge Tower, I think there are pretty good chances that he'll make a canonical appearance in the next game. Especially since... Consider this: Half the characters got killed off in MK9, so they need a few characters I'd say. I sure as hell hope that they won't try to fill the void with Hsu Hao, Shujinko, Kobra and the like, they were pretty terrible characters.

Well one can assume that Tremor is from another universe where things happen differently like this lame MK9 reboot... come on! I don't remember Skarlet being in the old timeline. So if Tremor somehow makes it into future installments, i wouldn't be supprised.

How is Tremor better than those characters?
