I want to see a retro Jax, one with hair, and USA influenced pants. This needs to be a costume, or an alt costume.
PLEASE NO GHETTO JAX.
Gotcha's must be included, where"awwww yeahhhhh" gun shots must not.
Thoughts?

I think his MK vs DC look was the best for him. His robotic arms need to a bit less high tech and more simplistic, though.
Got Cha' definately needs to come back.

Well, if this takes place over MKII AND 3, should he have his metallic arms to begin with? I think the best option would be to have one version without the arms then one with them... especially in story mode, where we can see him obtain them.

I would like to see Jax from Mortal Kombat 2, where he actually looked like a HUMAN.

Casting list said he'll eventually get his metal arms over the course of the story.
Not only was Jax's look in MK vs DC the best, his voice and mannerisms were too. it's good to see intelligent black characters that don't act like Urkel.

My thoughts for Jax :
He should be dressed in standard U.S. Army Special Forces Fatigues. Absolutely NO red or purple spandex. The robotic arms could be negotiable or as an alternative outfit.
Special Moves : Keep the "Gotcha !! " Grab(s), the Airborne Gotcha, The Ground Pound Punch, and the Dash Punch.
If Jax is made to " bust some caps" no " Aww Yeah" animation.
That's about all on my thoughts for Jax. What are yours? Holla Back.

I liked Jax in MK2, as well. Less is more!

I really don't want to see Jax stereotyped to all hell again. Save that shit for Grand Theft Auto.

No more gun, no more fuckin rockets.
This is a 7 foot tall, 300 plus pound dude who's strong enough to tear anybody in half WITHOUT the arm implants. Why take away from that by not letting his moves revolve around that stuff?

MK vs DCU was definitely the strongest characterization and presentation of Jax we've ever gotten and I'm sure that MK9 will follow the same formula.

Except for his American Gladiator outfit, MK2 Jax is my fave. Throw in black pants, combat boots and a bulletproof vest and he ́d look kickass!
Forget the metal arms, I say

MK 2 Jax kicked plenty of ass without the arm implants. There's no reason he should have those back. That should be one of the changes that comes about with Raiden's time hopping.
I also agree with the "no more stereo-typing" crap. That was just ... bad.
No gun either. Again, Jax is a formidable warrior without all these things. He was able to more than hold his own against the fighters in that tournament.

I didn't like the shirt thing with the molded abs either. I also didn't like how bulky and weird looking the forearms sections of his metal arms were. But other than that, MKvsDCU had easily the best Jax costume ever. My favorite part about it was he and Sonya were wearing the exact same pants and belt. They actually looked like they belonged to the same military unit and had uniforms for once.
But since there's an odd surge of MK2 Jax fans all of a sudden, I also want to say that I do love and think Jax absolutely needs the metal arms. Getting them was pretty much the only interesting thing he's ever done storyline-wise and they demonstrate how he's not just a big muscle guy, his personality is that of a scientist/inventor. Designing his arms and the first tech-based portals gives Jax character.
And I love the missiles way more than the energy wave, especially the fact that you can shoot two in a row.
Oh, and finally...this is a little weird, but I need Jax to have facial hair or it's just not Jax to me. He looks so stupid clean-shaven in Deadly Alliance.

I wouldn't call it recent. People have been divided on the metal arms for some time now. I've seen people hoping he'd ditch them going back to MKDA. It's all moot though, as we know he's going to get them during the course of the game, anyway.
I preferred the wave based on the fact it was slowish but wide, making it a tiny bit more of a challenge to jump over than the typical projectile. Felt unique. For multiple projectiles, I'd pick Shang any day (he had dibs on multiples going back to MK1).

I don't believe any character should have "dibs" on shooting two fireballs at once.
Three is unique, Shang can be the only guy who shoots three. But two is not special. I like Sektor being able to deploy multiple missiles or Sonya's two rings pro move a lot too. And I kinda wish they'd bring that high fireball-low fireball-giant spinning fireball combo of Liu's from Shaolin Monks into the fighting games.
Also while we're on the subject of Shang's flaming skulls, I really miss the way they used to scream. I really hope Ed and co. go back and revamp the sound effects for everything, because that's not the only one they've dropped the ball on, either. Scorpion needs a new "Get over here" recorded and Raiden's thunder isn't nearly loud enough.
To bring us back around to the subject of Jax, I do gotta give them huge props for bringing back "Gotcha", though.

I'm 99.99 percent sur...no, i'm ONE HUNDERED percent sure that Jax will be in. Yes, the "gangtsa" shit has to go. MK VS DCU nearly achieved this if it wasn't for the gun move. Appearance wise, i'm in total agreement with the others in that his MK VS DCU interpretation was the best, and that it needs to be closer to this look in the new MK.

Bah, that came out wrong. Really meant to say that since Shang was doing it first and for two straight games, Jax ditching the wave - a special I really enjoyed (great sound effect on it, speaking of audio) - for one or two missiles was a bit of a letdown for me. It felt a tad derivative, though the high/low angle on the two was a nice touch, gave him good zoning possibilities.
I really, really hope we get to see the backbreaker special make a glorious return (with spine-shattering SFX). There were few things more satisfying with Jax than comboing that thing right after a jump kick.

I honestly don't want to see Jax in another MK game again. Not unless they go with his MK vs DC ending.

Definitely agree about the Backbreaker, I miss that move and also the repeated slam a lot. That's the problem with Jax for me. Deadly Alliance took away his entire damned moveset and he's VERY slowly getting all his signatures back.

Look-wise, I think his MK vs. DCU look was the best. However, I would like him to look more like John Parrish, and I definitely want him to have facial hair. For his costume, I want to see a more realistic look for him. Make him look like he's actually a soldier in the U.S. Army. I don't care for his bionic arms, and I don't really want to see them again. And besides, he's supposed to be the strongest man on Earth.
Gameplay-wise, I do like the idea of his style being influenced by Muay Thai. I know that in fighting games, it is typical to have a black character use Muay Thai, but I actually think it works well for Jax. Granted, I know they aren't using martial arts styles in this new game, but they have used certain martial arts moves for some characters in MK vs. DCU (e.g. Kitana with moves from Piguazhang).
Character-wise, I really liked how he was portrayed in MK vs. DCU. He should be tough, serious, and intelligent. I like the idea of him being something of a tech geek. MK: Defenders of the Realm should have had him as such instead of making Nightwolf that kind of character.
Overall, I'm still not a fan of him, but I think he can be improved to be decent.
