I guess I gotta be one of the few to mention this, so here it goes.

The Fatality.

I hate the kick part. They fly up too fast. It's so fucking fake looking.

Just like everyone else, I hope he doesn't have the nomads touch.

I also hope he doesn't have anything the Flash had in MKvsDCU. Online was infested with Flash noobs that did nothing but the same fucking thing, I don't want this game to experience that shit again. Not like I'm gonna touch online mode much anyway, but for the sake of everyone else, I'm thinking for y'all.

From what I seen in the past up to now, this game looks too good to be sticking with one fucking character just because they have one move that's almost flawless. It's the main reason why I love UMK3, granted I only played it casually but from what I experience, regardless how broken it was, it seems to me that everyone in that game can stick with one another. And I hope lightning strikes twice with this game.

And, that's real awesome that the Soul Chamber is back, it's one of my favorite looking MK3 stages. And one more little gripe, is that I wish Kabal had short sleeves, because the scars kinda bug me, but not a biggie.

Lupinko was right once again , since he had leaked that Kabal was in the game with all his original MK3 moves .....

explain to me how kabals fatality was crossing the line? its almost the same as his MKD fatality

His 2nd fatality was mentioned in Aussie Report, about banning MK from Australia .....

The one where :

Fatality reminds me much of Jades one. Where she mounts the head on her pole. His spin won't be spammable, most likely like Sub Zero's Iceball or Scropian's Spear. They second one isn't effective much. They'll just fall flat on their face.

I don't like the see through mask, a solid mask would have been better.
Don't like what it appears to be dreadlocks.

He seems special dependent, I hope you can do just combos like MK3.

Otherwise he looks great.

I wrote this about a month ago. Looks like I got 3 out of 4 of my wishes. I still hate that f***ing cartoon spin dash. Ground saw looks fair. MK3 was such a retarded, childish game though, I'm surprised they managed to make Kabal look as impressive as they did. I really like his voice.

I think the scars on his arms look kinda crappy though. What could cause scarring like that? Not burning. They look too regular, like some kind of photoshop pattern fill, or like someone meticulously took his arms to a cheese grater but only grated them a little bit, and was very careful to cut every portion of their surface equally.

Kabal looks awesome! The Soul Chamber looks great! Did I see tentacles in the background of the Soul Chamber? It should have stage fatality. He has pretty much most of his moves from MK3. His fatality looks nice, very simlair to his MKD fatality. Lupinko leaked "Kabal in and has all of his MK3 moves."

Senior Designers John Edwards and Paulo Garcia did a brilliant great job doing Kabal's combos.

Ah yeah, maybe. But it must have come at him evenly from all directions, like one of those new showers that spray water from above and from the walls lol.

Let's see here: Kabal is perfect, he has all of his MK3 specials back. The ground saw doesn't come from behind now or look as killer BUT it appears to be much more useful as opposed to situational and having to luck out on connecting with it. Spin is perfect, looks very useful but not overpowered. His plasma blast is amazing looking, love that you can still shoot it in the air, win! I'm so pleased that he has his "around the world" hookswords slam.

Kabal's redesign is superb, love how he looks like he has been through hell, it adds so much to his intimidation factor. His combos are very impressive and I love how you can link his specials into his combos. The outfit is nice, pleased to see an update to his mask, update respirator, and the low hanging coatail of his trench coat looks nice.

Super X-ray, it's brutal with the sliding crush of your shins and the hook swords to the back, the laugh afterward is superb.


His intro is my favorite so far, he really sounds like he has a respirator on and it doesn't sound cheesy at all, "let's see what you're made of" it's very well done.



The Soul Chamber is stunning, one of my favorites from MK3. The shadow priets are creeping haha. The tentacles and overall presentation just really feels creepier than MK3 though, very impressed.

Yes, the soul chamber looks awesome. Another thing I wasn't too crazy about from MK3 that they've made really cool. That shadow priest/wraith right next to the walkway at 0:29 freaks me out!

Does anyone else get the impression that move where he impales them and slams them into the ground is a new Special? They show two versions of it- not sure if it's L and R Throws, or normal and EX Specials...

The only thing i didnt like about Kabal was his Winning pose...all the past winning poses have been cool, this look simple...anyways gameplay looks awesome...Fatality mmmm...Cool but come on another half split...well im not surprised yet...

I was really hoping to see Kabal unscarred 'cos I seriously think his Shaolin Monks cameo appearance is by far the handsomest of all MK males (right next to Mavado and Rain, from what we can see above the mask)...

Thought he might get some non-canonical treatment just like human Sector:/

Kabal/Stryker in all likelyhood. Maybe Kabal/Smoke depending on how Smoke is.

I was thinking the same thing, that it was a special move and enhanced version, but the more I watch the video the more I think it's his throw. He does one version where they land in front of him, and another version where he adds and extra spin and slams them behind him. I'm leaning towards this being a throw...but he should have at least one more special that's new.

I will definitely be using Kabal like mad with Stryker and Sheeva as his partner, going to be crazy.

The hook grab is definately a special. The launching uppercut is probably a command normal like scorpions sword pop and kitana's fan shoryuken. Interested to see what else he's got.

In the unmasked footage he's actually still got arm scarring and the tank, so its probably just battle damage. Weird that they would go that far with it since supposedly he needs the respirator to live, but whatever, characters getting thrashed is awesome.

Ok, so....*breathes*.....


1.) Kabal looks great. Glad they stuck with the more classic look for him. It was always an awesome character design.

2.) The respirator he has here is a trache, so the need for oxygen through the mask wouldn't be necessary. In fact, that's the reason for a tracheotomy in the first place. I doesn't look like it has tubes attached to it at all, so it seems like he keeps it on for disfigurement reasons.

3.) Am I the only one who doesn't want him horribly, gruesomely disfigured? I liked seeing him normal in Shaolin Monks. I'd be perfectly ok with mild disfigurement like the scars around his cheeks.

4.) Where is it said he's a "cop"? I know he turned good during MK3, but then went back to being bad in Deception. Are we assuming because they're using the Pre-Trillogy storyline that he'll keep his original alignment? (because I'm fine with that....I didn't like him being a evil prick in Deception)

5.) That animated .gif is FANTASTIC.

6.) Really wanted this reveal to be Smoke. Someone said he "kinda was revealed". Where?
