i just uploaded another pic showing the demon face door during kabal's entrance. though it is somewhat like pit 3, there is lava directly below this new soul chamber, so i do not think there is anything to fall into, unlike pit 3. i suppose they could do a boring knock ya off into lava stage fatal, but i would rather those 2 floating robed guys do something like throw ya into the soul chamber's green soulnado, or maybe a beam shoots out and takes your soul and sucks it into the soulnado. etc.

They did Kabal wonderfully. I like his voice even. I am very impressed with him. I think he is perfect. He seems like the darkest character so far and the most brutal. Between him and Noob I feel like this game is on just the right track. On a side note I dig the old school ninja attire, too.

The walkway of the Soul Chamber was always lined with tooth-like spikes. And it looks like the bottom is filled with lava, so you won't be seeing the Pit 3's spinning blades.

It being a bridge suspended over a pit of lava IS new, but on the other hand, the MK3 version did have an underlit orange glow to the far background, so really, this is just an extrapolation.

Much like how the Bridge stage overlooks a river, and maybe it always did, but now you can actually see the water whereas you couldn't before 'cause the camera angle for it just wasn't there, and when the MK9 version debuted, we had crazy people going "they totally combined it with the Waterfront" when no, it's still pretty much all Bridge.

I think the soul chamber is tied to the Netherrealm in some way in this game. What with the lava and (I'm assuming) the Brotherhood of Shadow being there.

Did I mention I love the redesigned respirator with that metallic muzzle/facemask thing?

Also,SPIKES,SPIKES EVERYWHERE.

Forgot to mention his new pigtails look interesting. I like them. Still would like to see some free flow like his older hairdo if NRS can pull it off XD.

I am really wondering what the story is behind the tentacles. I don't see what they have to do with those souls and it doesn't really belong, imo. The original Soul Chamber had no such thing. As a matter of fact, the only place were we saw tentacles was in MKM:SZ (Stage 7, Bridge of Immortality).

the old graveyard didnt have a soulnado or a dragon destroying buildings. just how it goes with updated versions of classics. i love the new snakey tentacles. adds so much coolness to the soul chamber... though not as cool as those floating guys in robes.

Yeah, but I can see the logic behind the soulnado (fuck I hate that word for some reason) in the Graveyard or the dragons destroying the buildings. The tentacles, however, are a real mystery to me.

Kabal looks great. He's one of the fan favorites I never managed to warm up to. But this preview has definitely changed my mind about him.

I have had nothing but excitement for every single character that has been revealed so far. However, Kabal just isn't doing anything for me. Then again he never really has. I could never really figure him out in MK3 so I guess I never gave him a chance. But I'm sure I'll play as him a few times in the new game just to say I have. That Soul Chamber is lookin pretty rad though. April 19th cannot get here soon enough.

I'm not so sure I would call them "tentacles" so much as multiple bodies of a snake or dragon, with the main centerpiece as its "head".

What I *am* sure of after watching again (a few times) is that hook-and-throw move is a Special-
he does the EX flash before he does that double-loop version.

That's what I love about. A stage with some real mystery behind it again.

Love Kabal's fatality that was shown in the video, HOWEVER... I'm really hoping we don't see too many more of these vertical split fatalities. They're sort of starting to lose their appeal.

Yeah, kinda getting played out with the vertical slice, and there's one more character that has it. I really like Kabal's though, the head cut adds flavor.

Kahn apparently has a vertical slice fatality as well, so expect to see at least one more.

Yeah, sounds really brutal. Noob also does his with bare hands and even though I love Kabal's fatality, its not nearly as brutal as Noob's. So I am expecting great things from Kahn.

I wonder how Kahn doe shis, like maybe stabbing his fingers through the eyes before ripping them a new one?
I still hope if he has another one it involves his Hammer.

I've been thinking about Kabal's fatality, and the head on the end really should be upside down

the way he slices him with the hook pointing in like that, means that the hook part would be pointing up when it reaches the base of the skull.

Plus I think it'd be cooled for the head to be upside down

Now that I can see the Soul Chamber more clearly - I love it. It's probably my favourite stage revealed so far. I love the new design - they actually managed to make an already dark and twisted design even darker and more twisted. It's great, I can't wait to see it more clearly.



Well not entirely. The Soul Chamber in MK Gold was surrounded by lava as well as the discarded Soul Chamber stage from the Grid (although, it was essentially the same model, just converted into a court).

Still can't get over to how awesome Kabal plays and looks. So fast and furious.

I was so excited about his reveal that I completely didn't notice the awesome stage reveal of the Soul Chamber. One of my favorite stages from MK3, VERY happy that it has returned for this game. Come on April 19th, you're fucking killing me

Kabal impressed me a lot but damn... is anyone just as shocked as me at how beautiful all the stages are looking! Soulchamber is def one of my top fav stages and they killed that shit!! It looks so awesome!!!!! I'm just crossing my fingers for the tombs and the pit 3, all the other stages I love are already in.

Back to the main subject.. def kabals best look in my eyes. Love the scarrs all over his arms and shit, it goes with his story lovely. His fatality is pretty much a cooler verison of his deception one.. I dig it, but his 2nd fatality sounds so much more off the wall I can't wait to see dat shit.

Now hopefully we get to see some Sheeva action next week. Smoke I def think isn't gonna be revealed till close release.
