If you had the EGM magazine with the MK feature, there's a code inside that lets you access stuff on the EGMi website.One of those is an intrview with Ed Boon, and one of the things he says is, 'while Raiden's changing thngs, he's screwing things up.'

Hopefully he can "screw up" a couple characters from ever appearing in a future MK game.

I also take everything Ed says with a truckload of salt because...well, he isn't writing the story of this game.

Watching the video just made me more excited to play! Oo0o I am so hype.

Come on man, George Newbern was Superman in the JL and JLU cartoons (not to mention Ren in The Pirates of Dark Water and, even if I don't like the character, Sephiroth in the most games using him), and Richard Epcar is a prolific voice actor, having done such roles as Jigen in Geneon's dub of Lupin the 3rd, Batou in Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Zangetsu in Bleach, several assorted roles in the Digimon dubs way back when, plus a lot of game voice roles. Those are some perfectly good voice actors.

Finally, getting to see some story is fantastic. Though, of course, more context would have been appreciated. I still wonder how costumes factor into cutscenes, and who's returning/who's new with the VAs.

As for Liu Kang's fighting, it's quite nice. Some good changes like his Bicycle Kick being slightly less ridiculous (slightly), he seems to juggle quite well, and his flame ability seems to be incorporated into his fighting style quite well (a much more gentle looking fire, generally, than Scorpion's Hellfire).

I am sure there are more games next to MK and Tekken in which juggles are big part of the combo system, I just gave you an example of a tournament fighter that ISN'T using juggles since you said there's only two options; juggles or dial-a combo, which is not true.

And no, with SFIV's focus-attack-dash-cancel (FADC) system you can actually perform combos of up to 15-20 hits without using a single juggle.

I think the little flip when he lands on his back is kinda like (Kazyua, Heihachi, Jin) from tekken.
It's making me think the get up system might be getting a revamp in this game (hopefully)

And like I mentioned earlier, Soul Calibur is probably the best fighter out there (They managed to do 3d and do it good, unlike MK) and it doesn't rely on juggles or combos with dozens of hits.

Screwing with physics to allow juggles has always bothered me, but what can I say, fighting games are retarded, but I still love them. Actually, I don't understand why people like juggles, It's mildly amusing to do them on another person, but when someone is doing a 20 hit combo on you, it's outright maddening to have to sit there and pick your nose or twiddle your thumbs until they're done.

I am 100% behind this.

Yeah, agreed. Its a shame pretty much everybody realizes how retarded its become, but nobody really cares. Story mode is going to be such a fuckin joke and I don't understand why so many people say they're looking forward to it. I truly hope I'm wrong, but is NRS, and we all know it'll most likely be shit, especially based off the little bits we've seen so far.

I think its obvious why NRS doesn't release more excerpts from story mode, better to base marketing off fanboy hope than actual content (strictly speaking on story mode here, not gameplay).

Nice to see a glimpse of the alternate costumes for the game. Shame we couldn't get a full view of Liu's, but Johnny's is looking great. I love that it's a nod to the MK1 comic.

Alternate costumes yes! I had been worried we might not see them or get slugged extra money for them. They don't seem to be taking any risks with JC's alt, I hope they do with the others.
