Nice! Liu Kangs beat down uppercut is so awesome. The courtyard looks so damn good, it's definitely my favorite level.

The backgrounds look just as amazing as the rest of them have. I love the Armory and the Wasteland, but I am in awe of the Courtyard. That is just gorgeous with all the monks and the masked guards and old man Shang watching politely in the background.

Kano looks a lot better than I thought he did when I saw him in the original Liu Kang vignette, so I'm happy about that. It's kind of a mix between every look he's ever had, really. Not crazy about the tattoos, but I never like tattoos.

His knife tricks/play look awesome.

yeah, Keith is right. in the Shaolin Monks menu, there is a ship in the background of the Wasteland, and when you select extras I think it zooms into the ship

The flaming on the Bike Kick is just because it's the enhanced version. I wouldn't worry about it. The basic one's still in there.

The second stage is definitely The Wastelands, you can see the backdrop is littered with dead and impaled bodies. The fight takes place on a sandy beachfront, you can actually see the tide gushing back and forth, and an abandoned, shipwrecked pirate ship to the left of the screen. Just amazing detail.

Plus, I love the bright daylight of the courtyard - brilliant contrast to many of the other dark stages. Kano and his knife play is also pretty epic.

Overall, A+ - keep it coming, Ed.

I've been pleased with all of the intros so far, but Kano's... I can't think of a better way to represent his personality than what was revealed.



I'm pretty sure what's shown here and in his gameplay trailer is his enhanced bicycle kick. You can see his regular special in his vignette.

The scream totally makes the fatality.

Read the thread before you post, we already had it pointed out that Scorpion's throw was changed. Kano is the only one with that throw.

Love everything about this video.

Arenas are beautiful, blood looks delicious, Characters are epic, loving the taunts/uniqueness.

Kang's fatality is really simple, but I kind of enjoy that. Charges up his fist, punches straight through Kano's chest and out the other side before pulling hand back and giving it a quick shake.

The three arenas look awesome.

The courtyard has been faithfully recreated with the monks sitting right there at the foot of Tsung's balcony. The masked guards patrolling is a great touch. I remember they did the same in MKD.

The Armory, which was one of my favorite MK2 stages seems to have a much larger concept behind it than it did in the old game. Back then it was just room with a small pool of molten steel and a few weapon racks. Now it's got the giant smelting pits pouring metal in the background, the coals in the foreground. It's a pretty awesome update.

The Wastelands looks completely different from what it was in MK2, MKA or MKSM. Maybe it is that stage or maybe it isn't. But I like the fact that the fighters are now fighting on the shore line with a bunch of wrecked ships in the back and a dark sky. If it is the Wastelands, it's certainly a nice new twist on it.

Awesome video! Love the showcasing of Kano. He looks great, and the intro and "knife-lick" are perfection! Was hoping to hear his voice, though. Given these little scenes we've seen of his, I'm looking very forward to seeing his Fatalities.

Liu's turkey calls were a lot less noticeable in this video than yesterday's, I guess you just gotta keep pummeling him in order to keep it to a minimum

Because that would've revealed some of Shang's gameplay, which they are clearly not ready to do.

They might not show Shang's moves at all until the game comes out, to keep up the mystery of whether or not he can really morph.

Also, off topic, wouldn't this be Kang's final video? Are we on to Raiden then next week?

Theoretically, yes. They could delay it by releasing another Environment Bio or "What Would You Do With...?" video, though.

And besides, even if it is the start of Raiden stuff, all we're gonna get first up is a silhouette wallpaper. It'll be at least two weeks before we actually SEE Raiden.
