The folks over at NetherRealm studios have issued a press release announcing that Mortal Kombat (2011) has gone gold!

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios today announce that Mortal Kombat has officially gone gold on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Scheduled to launch on April 19, Mortal Kombat is the most brutal installment of the legendary fighting game to date and is currently available for pre-order at all major retailers across North America.

Being developed by NetherRealm Studios, led by Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon, the newest chapter of the iconic fight franchise marks a triumphant return to the series' mature presentation and a reinvention of its classic 2D fighting mechanic. Driven by an all new graphics engine, the fan favorite Fatality is back and presented in more gory detail than ever before. In addition, Mortal Kombat introduces a number of new game-play features including tag team, a deep story mode, and, exclusively for the PS3, Stereoscopic 3D. Players can choose from an extensive lineup of the game's iconic warriors and challenge their friends in traditional 1 vs. 1 matches, or take on several new game modes including Challenge Tower and the soon-to-be-announced online modes.

That's good news, so, maybe they had time, after the leaked demo stuff, to modify some things, improve others, and now, they are delivering for purchase , the final product. yep, this 2 weeks next, will be a hell and torture, waiting for some news, specially , the god damn Smoke gameplay video ! Where is it , NRS ? XD

Actually the flip kick move Scorpion is new, and wasn't a move from the demo, glad they brought that move back!

What i'd like to know is how do they keep getting these awesome camera angles on their screens. I hope this might mean the camera changes like that in game, or, even better, that there's a theater replay mode where you can look at replays from all different angles.

I love the fact that the game has gone gold...

I love the fact that machinima will be playing the full version of the game for 4 hours...

I hate the fact that they include shitty, nothing new revealing screenshots with the press release of going gold...

My hope is that the game has some sort of replay mode like Dissidia where you can record your fights and then replay them and dick with the camera angles and stuff.

I can't imagine they wasted all the time on the tech used in their story vignettes and even those stupid gamestop commercials just to chop it out of the game.

Also, to whoever posted it, the flip kick is in the demo its just not a standalone move anymore. Its part of a combo.
