I believe that the Elder Gods are in their humanoid bodies when a guest like Raiden visits them for conversation but in situations where they must go to certain places they might turn into dragons. This armor was nothing new really considering that we had a similar armor in Kreate-A-Fighter of Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

Things I didn't like with Raiden:
-Design (his shoulders, overall good)
-His Xray (should use lightning or his flying torpedo, maybe both)
-His intro (wtf shooting lightning bolts at birds?) he should use his staff when he appears teleporting
-His teleporting move should have better sound and effects

Things I liked
+ His throw move
+ His torpedo move (but the sound was odd from raiden)
+ His fatality (maybe to much disemberment, he should fry the enemy)

Regarding Raiden, unless his fatality is something totally different than what is shown here, which I'm sure it isn't, it is a disappointment. No amount of gameplay footage is going to change that. They made his fatality 4 cut points. What else is there to say?

His X-ray is fair, but it's not something we haven't seen from just about every other character in the game. He has the power of f***ing lightning. Couldn't they have somehow incorporated that into the x-ray, instead of him just doing strikes, something even Johnny Cage could do? I'm not as annoyed by that, but I do feel let down.

Yeah I understand now since now you're finally talking about Raiden instead of the one character we all know you hate and could take a piss over.

i also think i see a samurai sword at the hip when it shows them facing off vs shang tsungs team but thats probably just the way the shadow is making it look like

Awesome Vignette. I actually like how he shoots lightning into the air for his intro, reminds me a lot of Big Trouble in Little China. Looks like he'll be fun to play as and I'm glad we got to see how the Elder Gods look, at least in human form.

Now, NRS,......Give us a theater mode so that we can film fights with those different angles!!!

It almost looks like they took the MKvDCU raidens head model and transplanted it right to this one, looks too much like Raiden from the last game other than the uniform IMO. I'm kinda let down by this one too the more I watch it, and it sucks because he's my favorite character, that and the fact that sub zero is kind of handicapped in the demo because all of his specials take so long to come through, the shooting ice at the ground is useless in this game now. My 2 fav characters in the history of MK seem like the they aren't going to be as fun to play as this time around, I hope that's not the case.

Raiden is my favorite character, and overall, I'm Impressed.

His intro, was partially what I expected. I expected him to teleport down from the heavens. But the lightning blasts, are just....

His gameplay looks like classic Raiden, and I wish his teleport was MK1-2 style. He needs to incorporate his staff into his gameplay. Thankfully this is just a teaser of what he's capable of. When we see his combo video, I expect to see much better things.

His X-Ray reminds me of his Nan Chuan style from the 3D MK games alot, and that's a good thing. Although, it wouldn't hurt to see more of his abilities besides that teleport and lightning blast at the end.

Raiden's fatality, albeit more dismembering is actually brutal. Better than what I expected, and the head smash at the end is icing on the cake.

Baraka: Yay for Blade Spin.

Sheeva: It's certainly MK3 based, and I see that it connects to a loin cloth.

The Elder Gods: These looks are befitting gods of the highest stature, and are a glimpse of their mortal form, but they'll always look best in their purest form. The MK Dragon glowing in green energy. So there's only five now. In previous games, there were more.

Can't wait to see more or Raiden and Sheeva. Screw you Baraka. Good thing Kintaro didn't ruin this by showing up.

Raiden looks cool but I'm more interested in Sheeva, I like how she looks more slender. I hope she's a bit more speedier and unique then she was before as all of her moves came from Goro & Kintaro.

Rayden looks good .... well, of course there is room for improvement, anyway, nice to see something related to him.

** Sheva seems nice ! Of course she is much better when we gonna see some gameplay footage. Shang Tsung was a crap in Liu Kang video, but, after we saw him in action, his outfit and look are way much much better, so, the same with Sheeva : everyone will love her when we see a video of her !

It looks like they really reused a lot of stuff from MkvDCU for Raiden, even the lightning effect when he comes down looks the same (too thick)

I just really wish they'd go back to his old projectile style, I can't get over that electric ball thing lol I've always hated it.

They must have decided to redesign them I guess. A pity, I liked that the elder gods were MK logo style dragons.

My hopes were high prior to watching this video. It was a bit underwhelming, but it was nice to finally see Raiden get some lime light.

I had a "oh God sad" moment when I saw the fatality... Really? More severed limbs? Just electrocute them to a smoldering crisp, or at least blow them up! Getting electrocuted shouldn't make your arms or legs pop off. grin

I'm glad they went the MK3 route with Sheeva's appearance. That's just my taste.

I'm very impressed with Sheeva's appearance. Is it just me, or is anyone reminded of the actor that played Sheeva in that awful MK movie (I liked Sheeva's portrayl in that movie). She still looks feminine and has a very 'I'm a shokan, b!tch!' presence. Although I can tell the MK team took her already skimpy outfit (thong more like it), and made it skimpier, but thats to be expected honestly...

I'm sick of the dismemberment fatalities. I mean, come on. I know its their new engine or whatever and such but I mean.. its more of the same stuff we've seen. And I'm sure barakas is more slashing of arms and heads and kabal with his swords too and on and aon sleepsleep

overall it was great to see him but somethings just were bleh

1.) Why does he need shoulderpads

2.) lightning balls are lame

3.) his xray end is kinda bleh (Should have done the superman or major electric shock)

4.) his intro was crap

his grab was nice, im also wondering what that charge move was at the beginning

and that fatality was beast, people have to remember there are others, just hope they arent all freakin dismemberment crap
