Raiden's X-ray is great. But I think it's safe to say that Sheeva stole the show. I'm not really impressed by Raiden this time around.

yep, people already knew that Raiden was in,and how his look is already known, and , surely, a combo gameplay video it's what we are expecting more from him, to analyze his gameplay better ..... a Vignette is just a tease.

In other hand, Sheeva was being "called" to be showed, and now, we wanna see a complete gameplay video , to see her appearance "in combat" plus her fatality , X-Ray and combos.

YAWN! I didn't think anything could be duller than Liu Kang's but this one takes the cake. The most exciting part was the "Evil side" reveal.

Actually, there are six. The Mortal Kombat tournament's creation would take place after Shinnok's defeat and imprisonment in the Netherrealm. And there were six Kamidogu that the Elder Gods used to shatter the One Being into the realms (I don't count the amulet as one, since it's more of a tool to use and manipulate them, like a control). I doubt there were some gods just sitting there, twiddling their thumbs. But, perhaps there were seven. Since the six Kamidogu were found in six realms (Earthrealm, Netherrealm, Chaosrealm, Outworld, Orderrealm (Seido), and Edenia), maybe the Amulet symbolizes Heaven, where the gods are born. The other realms would be lesser realms. But then, I wonder where this last Elder God went...

As for their appearance, I'll assume this is just one of the forms they take.

In regards to Raiden, I'm mostly happy with what little I saw. Raiden at least included his lightning via a teleport (and perhaps that lightning ball) during the X-Ray, and the fatality works in an awesome way. Don't forget, it's just one of multiple fatalities.

What's with the hate on his intro move? It's basically an extended version of his MK2 win pose, which is awesome.

Hope you're right. Although, I don't particularly like this fatality because it seems too generic. Considering his power over electricity, it seems a little weird to me too [oddly generic]. Seems like it was forced on the character to some extent. Which kind of infers he has this dismembering fatality that purposely uses electricity as a guise for the fact that it's really just a dismemberment. Hate to admit that but, it does seem a bit contrived of something systematic.

I hope his other one or two fatalities lean alot harder on his theme of "god" as a concept, and utilizes electricity to drive that concept home. Johnny Cage, Jax, or one of the other regular characters is written all over this fatality. Whereas, I want to see Raiden performing in ways that the other characters can not. "GOD"... show me what that means. Show me how that is significant. I don't think he should have anything mediocre because of this.

For instance,

: if Raiden is the only character (or one of a select few) on the roster who can cause an explosion...cool.
: If he's the only one who can burn you to a crisp, and your bones crumble to ash...cool.
: If there is a magnificent display of electricity and you die some sort of painful, brutal, really graphic kind of way....cool.
: If he uses his staff some kind of unique way, maybe utilizing electricity with the staff....cool.
: Hell, they could have him do something simple, like have him pick you up, fly you into outter space, teleport back to the arena, just...leaving you out there to float off into the abyss. That might be cool for Raiden.

idk... this was just too generic for me. I'm sorry to say wasn't impressed with it.

- What's "wrong" with it, is that stuff like this fan-made Raiden Test (not sure it's actually fan made, but i think so) looks better conceptually. It looks more ideal for the character than what we see in the game now. And that thing doesn't even use any of his win poses from the past. The one in the game now looks like something one of the Power Ranger would do...shooting lightning balls?

+ What I'd LOVE to see as a replacement (if they'll do it), is a lighting strike hit the ground like they have in the game now. But instead of what follows in the game now, refer to his teleport in the MKD Intro video [00:47 sec]. Except, instead of the stance he does in that video before he teleports, put that stance after the lightning strike hits the ground in this game.

It'd be noble looking, it's an authoritative posture, and it looks ready for battle all in one. I don't think I'd even need him to say anything with an entry animation like that.... maybe have him say "hm.." as if he's silently sizing up his opponent, and that's it. He squares up and gets into his fighting stance. Done.

Gimme a different entry as DLC over this thing... As I've watched it a few times now, yes, I feel like it's probably that bad. Call it "Raiden Pack 01 - ThePredator151 bitched about it..." or something. lol

I'm 50/50 on this vignette. i can still see the lack of john tobais and the rub off of Warner Bros. on some of the characters. All in all i guess i just have to be happy with amount of time and detail they are putting into this game (I like most of the character's redesigns[if you will]). But I swear if I see Raiden shoot out three animaniacs for a friendship or Noob throwing shurikens shaped as batman symbols I'm boycotting this game and every game to come.

Other than that I can't really speak until i get my hands on this game, play the story line for myself, and try out the game play.

I'm not worried about all the fatalities being repetitive limb dismemberment because I've read that their will be plenty fatalities for each character.

but then I again this is all coming from me, who hates DC comics.

Aaaaargh, I need to say it again, let me spit the venom of my disappointment: I hate you, Raiden, I hate you, I fucking hate you! The new story sucks my ass! Now I hate you (and it's quite an accomplisment) more than Piece Of Shit Blade, the queen of MK suckage, who has been sucking all the way since 1992!!!!!!!!

Lol! I thankfully had no heart issues upon viewing this video. However, the video has made me even more excited to play as Raiden in the new game. His X-Ray could have been a bit more flashy and suitbale to him, imo. I like he still has his trademark moves. He looks fun to play with as ever.
Like others, I find it interesting that the Elder Gods are shown in a more human form. I'm more of a fan of their dragon forms and would've liked to have seen an extension of those with more detail.
