If this is an MK Adventure for Vita I'm gonna throw up. I don't like handheld systems at all. Except for my iPhone ;)
Someone said that the Vita games could be played on PS1-3....that doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't the graphics be affected?
I really hope we're getting better news soon. MK Adventure and/or MK9 DLC!

I know I don't get it. I got the chance to play on the PS Vita at the GAME managers conference and it's incredible. Definately getting one day 1. Uncharted sold it for me anyway and a new or whatever Mortal Kombat just sweetened the deal

I also hope whatever this game is, "Vitality" is just placeholder title, because the name of the game sounds weird. Mortal Kombat Vitality - sounds like a game where Scorpion and Sub-Zero will teach children that smoking and alcohol are bad and helathy lifestyle and ripping out spines are good.
Hm...though such game would better fit on one of the Nintendo consoles.

Am I the only one that hopes to God that this isn't an adventure game?

I know I'll be getting this, whether it is an adventure game or MK9 port, because my bro and I share the same PS3, and it would be nice to play MK whenever I want to. Now I'm getting the PSV for MK, Uncharted, and LittleBigPlanet. No doubt there'll be more games I will want for the PSV in the future.

This is great news, but like most already said, I'm not interested in portables. I won't buy a psvita for 1 game.

So now the question remains, when will the news regarding the surprises Ed mentioned in his tweets be revealed?

If its an MK9 port:

-This will be very good for tournaments. Too often when I am ready to compete in small or big events, and that nervous jittery feeling builds up in anticipation. With possibly up to an hour passing before last playing before a match, I would always hold my controller and practice the finger motions for combos. I would love to have portable MK9 to practice timing for connecting combo strings. Sektors B3,4 EXTU B2,1/flame is hard to start right on the money after a F4,4 TU on a punished teleport or after a 12B1. I would really love the opportunity to be right on the ball leading up to a match. Well worth the money right there.

-All players would have all the DLC if you ever played online. No more Rain players not being able to pick Rain because of mismatch.

-Playable bosses (offline) would be a big demand. Just for fun. I would enjoy it.

-Offers opportunity for new Challenge tower missions to attract MK players who want some new encounters.

What I Don't want if its an MK9 port:

-If NRS goes and puts 4-legged Motaro in this game of all games and doesn't release him for MK9 on consoles. It will be the biggest let-down since We started demanding it heavily around MK:Deception.

-I do not want any features that are going to anger me not having them in my home MK experience. With the PS Vita not having a "video out" feature, I don't want something I am gonna be upset about having only on a small screen.

If its Fire&Ice or MK:Mythologies remake/sequel:

-Only one thing to say. Bring it on!

Just noticed on Boons twitter that he said upcoming "surprise" has nothing to do with MK10, and we already know it doesn't involve MK9, so my hope and overall interest are at an all time low.

I ain't interested either in a Mk9 for portable console but it could open doors for a bright future. As for the adventure game, well i'm not interested in seeing the same ol' faces all over again but with a better gameplay and engine that MKSM had it could be ok. The two Batman games are almost flawless in that area already.

I just can't buy a new console as means to purchasing a game I already own.

We don't really know. All we know is there's something coming out for the PS Vita called MK: Vitality, and that it uses a blue dragon logo and font that's kind of reminiscent of MK Mythologies.

It could be anything.

The more I've looked in to the Vita, the more I'm starting to think that I might want one. I love the fact that you can hook an HDMI cable from my TV up to it and play games in HD. I think that's awesome.

I also had a PSP for a long time and while it never seemed to fully catch on in the US, I had about 30 titles that I really enjoyed on it. So I do think that Sony can make a quality handheld.

From everything I've seen of the launch titles, the Vita doesn't seem to be some watered down portable system. I mean, if Namco can make a game like Tekken: Dark Resurection for the PSP, which was almost a verbatim translation of Tekken 5 a while back, I can only imagine how good games can look on the Vita and how comparable they can be to current gen consoles.

But again, that's just from what I've seen. If MK's a launch title for the Vita, it definitely might convince me to get that system, but I'm still not 100% sold on dropping that kind of cash yet. I'd like it alot more if the price were about $80 less.

Anyways, I'm guessing that this was one of Ed Boon's three "surprises" that he listed in that one tweet. If the other two aren't MK9, UMK9 or MK10 related, I'm not really sure that I care what they are at this point, but who knows, maybe he'll surprise us.
