Boon have said numerous times that this game is all about MK1-UMK3, and guess who was in UMK3? Besides, NRS considers UMK3 and MKT as MK3 because guess what? They pretty much fucking are. I even remember in Khameleon's MKA trading card one of the developers saying she was in "MK3 for the N64" aka Trilogy.

It's only the fans who makes such a big difference between those three games. It's the same shit. And yes, Chameleon, like it or not, is a CLASSIC CHARACTER.

A classic character isn't defined by how many games one appears in, if that was the case than Stryker and Sheeva wouldn't bare that title either. A classic character is anyone from the 2D period. And like I just said, MK3/UMK3/MKT is the same exact shit.

What new material does UMK3/MKT have that MK3 doesn't? Besides a few new characters and a slight game-play difference?

I didn't say a damn thing about more people wanting Rain than Quan Chi, but the fact of the matter is, for this particular game, they just might. This is all about the classic characters, 2D, nostalgia and Rain is the only character from that era to be axed. Quan Chi was never in that era. So if he was made DLC I doubt you would have seen as much outrage like you did when Rain was made DLC.

Why do people care what other people think about their favourite characters? I wouldn't give a shit about what other people think about Rain, Jade or whoever I like. I simply laugh at them, because most of their reasons for disliking a character are most of the time hilariously stupid.

Ahnka, you shouldn't take it so personally when people dislike Rain or make such ignorant comments about him. Learn to wave it off and move on with your life. Because in the end, it doesn't matter what others think.

Well, I can get into heated arguements with people as well - it's been seen before - but I have learned from it that in the end, it doesn't really matter what people think. Everyone have different views and opinions about everything, and that's how it should be. A forum like this is to discuss those things and NOT to just find people who agree with one another. So there's absolutely no reason to try and change other people's opinions.

The best thing we can do is inform the ignorant, and then let them make their own opinion about it. E.g., Rain has a new move. It looks unmistakably like Sektor's teleport uppercut. There is a difference though - it's faster and Rain uses a kick instead of a punch. When knowing this, some people might see that it's not a copy-paste move stolen from Sektor, but that it is indeed alike in its execution.

Of course there are some people who continue to say it is just like Sektor's, though it isn't, and those are the people we should simply ignore because they just WON'T even try to change their minds, even when proven wrong. And then we move on with our lives.

It does make sense. The classic skins do say classic as in being in the first three games. Classic thing figured out my mind is at ease.

I would say that every character who starred in an MK game up to MK Trilogy is considered as a classic character. They were from the 2D era before the game transcended onto the 3D era. So therefore, characters like Kai, Reiko, Tanya etc. aren't considered as classic.

Shinnok, Quan Chi, Fujin and Sareena are discussable, since they didn't appear in a fighting game until the 3D era, but they did appear in the MK Mythologies game which was 2D.

As for Rain's babality, I would love to see him cry in a very anime'ish way, streams of water flowing from his eyes. That would be rather cool. He will probably conjure a rain-cloud which starts to rain at him which will make him cry or something like that.

Rain conjures a bubble and gets caught up in it himself. The bubble floats just above the ground and Rain can't get out of it which makes him start crying. Brilliant idea, Whopper!

That is a great idea. Mine would be: he starts crying and a flower grows next to him,(like in his old friendship) but then he smashes it up.

I'll go with crying a puddle that he "melts" into.
