Well, considering there is pretty much almost nothing revealed about the little picture (in comparison to all of the Jax footage) I don't think she's going to "take away his thunder", lol.

It's definitely caused quite a commotion though, and a cool one indeed. It's also much better than another boring ninja video featuring Scorpion/Sub-Zero.

It's definitely Boneya. i just hope they don't screw up her look. It looks like she's got her MKDA angry face going on. I want the softer pretty sonya we had in MKDC. And she does NOT look like a transvestite either. God forbid someone breaks the boundaries of gender roles just a hare and it's chaos.

Yes, we don't want her to look like she did in MKDA and Armageddon because she didn't look good.

I just hope they stick to modeling her after Kerri Hoskins like they did in DC.

Personally, I'm a huge fan of her MKDA model. It was the perfect step in the right direction for Sonya. MK4 nailed her 100%, imo, but MKDA truly established her as a top military force to be aware of. She was truly *in* character.

That being said, I don't want them to go back to that same style. Not because I don't like it, but, because we've seen enough of it. It was great for the trilogy (MKDA, MKD, and MKA) and for MKSM (a nice and sexy redesign of her MKDA style), but after the amazing upgrade she got in MKvsDC, I just don't see her going back to the MKDA style.

If anything, they need to move forward taking elements from her newest look, from MK4 (hopefully), and gives us a new fresh Sonya like they've always done.

Spice her up again. I really wouldn't mind a sexy redesign costume and look inspired by MK4 and MKvsDC.

I actually agree with you about MK4 being her best... along with MKDCU.

But I just for some reason didn't like the look of her in MKDA. Maybe it's because I'm a hairstylist but I thought the haircut was very outdated looking. In some shots it looks like she has a mullet going on. I think her outfit is very tacky and she's too muscular. She's just too... butch. And the facial features they gave her really do age her.

I think its the gross thong and parachute pants and haircut that bother me the most. And the fact that she's just a little too muscular.

I mean compare Sonya Mk4 to Sonya MKDA?

Interesting. I think that (maybe) the big heavy jacket is what gives you the impression that she is too muscular. It's actually my one big complain about her MKDA model.

She clearly has regular arms, but, the jacket is designed in such a "big" way that it makes it seem like she has muscles under those big fat sleeves. I don't get why they did that, but, they did fix it in her MKSM model (which features a much thinner jacket, making her look not-muscular at all):



That's one of my major complaints about the MKDA costume. As for her hair, I actually thought it was a cute nod/reference to her cancelled MK:SF model and Sandra Hess from the second film:





However, I much prefer Sonya with the long pony-tail and her exaggerated sexy bangs:

btw i hated sandra hess as sonya. she was too short and petite and the tank top and khaki shorts bothered me. and her voice/demeanor was just not right for sonya.

I love how every single one of queve's posts has 6 pictures of Sonya in it.

But on topic, THIS is what I've been wanting. Little spoilers, sneaky "reveals", things to make us guess! Not every character has to be revealed with all the pomp and circumstance of an announcement. Leak ambiguous early sketches, low res shots of characters we haven't seen waaaaay in the background, screens of new characters at such awful angles, or in poses that make it very difficult to tell who they are/what they're wearing. After all, we've seen all of the characters before. A little more teasing is always welcome. It gives us something to talk about.
