If you look at the large full picture, it does look more like a ponytail...but I can definitely see how one could think it is a glove or shoulder pad. Hell, at first I thought the exact same thing.

I dont think its a part of the outfit. Keep in mind that thingy is right beside her head and neck. Theres no way it could be a shoulder pad. And it cant be her hand either, cause look at where she would have to bend her arm for that to be her hand! The arm would be WAY too short....if we consider it to be hair though, her shoulders look perfectly lined up with each other. And shes definitley blonde. Look at Mileena right next to her.....the difference is very clear

I'm not talking about the white part. That's clearly some hair or a funky collar. But on the actual arm part, like to the right and down from the white part.

HERE Someone on the TRMK forums made a picture outlining the details with a side by side comparison. After looking at this, make your decisions.

You know that picture is not really enough to say for certain that it's anyone. It just doesn't look like Sonya to me =/ NO idea who it is, and I'm going to hold off on speculating until I can see more details. At this points it's either a female character, or super thin male character(Think Vega :p). Either way without a more detailed picture it's all just gossip.

Wow, great job there. That's clearly Sonya. But her face seems to look more like MK:SM model, especially the hair and nose. I really wish her head and body looks like MK3 again, that was her best model.

The overall colors and resolutions of the screen shot are not accurate (cuz of the video being displayed a bit far and the light reflections from the camera on the arcade screen), look at Jax facial skin it looks white. So based on all the previously mentioned clues the unknown character is Sonya.
By the way, this seems like a more mature or older Sonya version, around her late 30's.

I guess, kinda. It still doesn't look like Sonya to me.

I'm curious to know, what makes you think Shaolin Monks?

I feel like it's absolutely impossible to make out anything of her facial features from any of the pics we've seen. They are just too low quality to see that. However, judging by the style I think this new Sonya could be a nice combination of MK3 and MK4.

That's the perfect example of a great artist with huge potential within the MK Team itself, who has absolutely no idea about what Sonya represents.

I have faith they will respect the main essence of Sonya and her good reputation regarding her "modest and decent unrevealing" looks. I certainly hope that she is sporting some kind of shirt in that vest (otherwise she would look like one of the Edenian ninjas). In the last picture though, it looks like she has a white shirt/top:

I don't like the costume that picture is alluding to. Plain white top under black sleeveless vest... I have much higher expectations for Sonya in MK2011. I hope the blur is concealing a LOT more, if that is indeed my girl under all that haze.

So long as she looks like a woman again in this game, I'll be glad to see Sonya return. She had SUCH a manly physique in MKvsDC, it was like as if they gave her a strong jaw line, and a masculine set of broad shoulders but tried to balance it out by giving her a sickeningly thin waist and a pair of breasts that make pumpkins look like cherries. She actually reminded me a bit of a believable drag queen! lol

Cant wait to see her gameplay when the videos come out. Would be interesting to see if they can think of another handstand fatality like the one back in mk4, that was cool!
