No offense but that's a terrible idea. It's just MK's version of ultra combos. You don't get them at will.

How retarded would it be if you could break out of ultra combos in SF4? Very. Please keep those opinions to yourself and don't clutter Boon's head with such nonsense.



You can interupt Ultra Combo's in SSFIV. For Example Gen's ultra where he trails across the screen can be broken up by a Hadouken. You can avoid Ryu's ultra by jumping over his super Hadouken. Sagat's Tiger Cannon. Akuma's Wrath of The Raging demon. ETC... There is way around these ultra combos. However, I think you're misinterpreting my concern here. So I will explain below.

I will be ok with this and it's damage scale if there is a way to avoid it. Agreed I don't want the actual x-ray to be broken up while in play. Which I should of stated more clear. But Avoiding it before someone try's and executes it. Failing to execute successfully should result in losing the x-ray option till their bar refills. That's all I'm Implying. Hope this clears things up. smile

I see what you mean then. I don't think you have to worry too much. All the X-rays will be different for each character. Sektor's and Sub-Zero's start off from a distance while Cage's is a parry. So on paper right now it looks like they'll be avoidable if timed correctly.

Totally agree you should lose your meter if you miss them.

That's what should happen, but so far it's looking like they know how cheap these can be.

Johnny Cage's hits hard but it's a Counter

Kung Lao's comes out almost too fast, but it looks weak as hell. He slapped Nightwolf around after he did it, and the total damage he did was 35% grin

Nightwolf's is the same way, except he doesn't even get a free combo after the fact.

Sektor and Reptile's need tweaking though. Both of them have quick start up AND hit hard. Sektor's seems invincible.

Reptile's has a downside though in that if he misses, he stumbles and leaves himself open. But the start up should be changed because doing an invisible dash is just too cheap

From what I'm seeing, it looks like there ARE dial-a-combos, but instead of long strings, it's short strings that can be chained with specials and normals.

at least I THINK so...

The promising news is they'll be able to patch the game regularly if something is broken like we're talking about. They haven't been able to do that since the arcade days.

X-ray's are currently block-able. And for some, I think you can avoid by jumping over or away at the right time. In johnny's case, dont touch him when he's doing his x-ray parry. So, you can avoid them.

So far, Im liking Sektors X Ray the most..the uppercut and especially the way he charges his final punch is wicked.

But I'm hearing the MK vs DC fatality tune..I hope they ditch it. Doesn't fit this game. Plus I wanna forget MK vs DC. This game should be all about MK 1, 2 and 3 and bringing those sentements back.

Thats why I liked when I heard the living forest tune from MK 2 during a fight on that stage. Anybody noticed that?

It looks to me like the masks will break/rip of during the fight. By the time the fatality is performed im sure their mouth is exposed.

Plus Nitara had that in MKDA as her throw. MK is recycling crap again. I hate that. How hard is it to create a new move? Other fighting games seem to do it with ease. Especially since this character has had the same moves for years and years. I hope they give Mileena more moves in the released game.

Also Kira's fatality "walk" was talked about. I never see girls moving like men in games other than MK. It's ridiculous. Get a freakin' female mocap already. I'm sure WB can afford it.

I agree. Its stupid that they don't.

But to be fair, Mileena's new sexy pose was absolute perfection!
