Li Mei. The only one I'd consider playing.

Actually besides any one of the female characters as I previously posted...I would not mind Shinnok.

After mk 4 eh? it's a tie between kenshi and havik. kenshi wouldn't have learned tk yet,but he could have some really stylish sword moves. havik because with the individualised movesets he could be insane.a kick that wraps around his opponent an kicks the opponent in the spine. a pimp slap that is so hard that havik breaks his own arm, etc. if you count mk 4 quan chi an fujin

We'll Nitara, Hotaru, and Havik because they seem the most original out of the bunch.

It's a close one between Nitara and Havik... hmmm...
Nitara Wins...
Nitara Wins...
Wow, this is really hard considering I love most of the new characters introduced in MKDA and, MKD.
We have Nitara, Kenshi, Havik, Li Mei, Hotaru, Drahmin, Frost, Mavado, etc etc etc all of who are wonderful characters.
Personally, it would come down to the tough choice of Kenshi or Nitara....and as much as I love Kenshi, I have to go with the vampire:
Nitara.
All the ones I mentioned above and others are fantastic, but I feel like Nitara (by far) can easily blend with the storyline that is being presented to us, better than all those others. Kenshi doesn't find Shang Tsung till MKDA, Havik and Hotaru played their part during MKD, Li Mei would be a baby, Frost would be a lame mistake considering her relationship with Sub-Zero started in MKDA, Mavado could work, but, Kenshi and Nitara have more potential, and so on.

You know, Quan Chi is proof that literally anyone can be revamped into a badass character.
He starts of as Shinnok's personal Jafar, really boring, nothing special story. He stabs him in the back, big whoop, never seen that before. And then suddenly MKDA comes out and we find out that he's the main antagonist and the story gives him a purpose.
Suddenly now, he's everyone's exception to the "post UMK3 characters suck" rule (over-exaggeration I know, but you get the point).
I'm confident that even the blandest of characters can be given an important role in the MK Universe if you just give it some thought.

Hey, the way I see it, Quan Chi has never not been an A-List character in the series since his introduction, mostly thanks to all the live-action acting and first class treatment he got during the "let's try and branch out" years of the franchise.
My first exposure to Quan Chi was...well, his actual first appearance anywhere. The cartoon. I can't speak to the quality of the episode 'cause that show was pretty awful, but he definitely left an impression in it, as a seemingly original character coming in from out of nowhere and seeming way more mysterious and black magic-y than Shang ever came off as. All Shang ever did was throw flaming skulls and such. This dude's belt turned into a snake and he had a cauldron and all kinds of stuff that resembled actual spellcasting and ancient rituals going on.
And then all of a sudden this character I thought was made up for the cartoon shows up in the games? (At the time, of course, I didn't realize the game had been made first, the cartoon tie-in was just well-timed) That's the sort of thing you sit up and take notice of. And from the moment I saw him in Mythologies, I knew that character was THE bad guy. Divisio's acting really brought him to life and made him stand apart from his "boss", the bland and barely seen Shinnok. He completely stole the show. AND it turns out he's the reason Scorpion and Sub-Zero hate/kill each other? Instant street-cred.
It was no surprise at all in MK4 that Quan turned out to be the real puppetmaster and Shinnok was getting played. It just seemed completely appropriate. (It doesn't hurt that QC got the best fatality in the game either. And I don't care what people say about MK4, level any other criticism you like, but that game in my opinion had, until this new one, the BEST fatalities in the series, so being best of the best is pretty goddamn good.)
And then you've got Adoni Maropis' acting in the role in the Conquest TV show, which pretty much followed in Divisio's footsteps and brought the house down on several different occasions. Basically, all the best episodes of that show are the ones QC is in.
So I guess in summary, Quan Chi was a star WAY before he ditched the teal shirt and pants. And frankly, I like the fully clothed look a lot better than the shirtless number he's been wearing for a few years now...

Very excellent Thread...
My pick would DEFINITELY be Kenshi. Only because he has a story that would fit pretty good into the story. and as someone else said he should be pretty easy to convert to 2d.
In this case Ermac would be really cool too.
Kudos to the original poster for an awesome thread. it's very interesting to see what other people think about DLC characters.

MK4 characters though.. probably Tanya and Fujin.

I think mainly MK4 characters would b worth adding... and since they where all in MKA, they count!
Shinnok def. would be a fun addition
Quan Chi!!! Of course
Fujin could have an interesting move set
Tanya has potential if they scrap the Deception crap that she was and she grows a lot.
Other than that, Drahamin would be pretty cool. He was pretty original.
