Lamb of God+MK= AWESOME!!!

I have yet to see the custom soundtrack option on the 360 cut off anything like dialogue or anything like that, it just interrupts the music in the game and I've always seen it turn off when cut scenes are going. It can be made to do it the other way if a dev wants to but the fact is most of them don't really mess with it because the system already allows the in game music to be replaced at the players discression.

People forget, this is just a feature that lets you hear your own music at the volume you choose instead of the music in the game, it's a basic feature.

I kind of assumed that from the Demo. That and the fact that MK vs. DC had it.

How do you select custom sountrack in the demo? The only thing I've found is to play a custom song at any time. But that's the same as the 360 media player..

This is freaking awesome. Just made me want to buy the game even more.

Whoever said NIN props. Yea I love em, but you cant deny that nin goes perfectly with video games (the more upbeat stuff) He did the music for quake which is regarded as one of the top video game soundtracks.

That's what custom soundtrack is. And yeah, it's the same thing as the 360 media player, but it's not like that's something you could do in every PS3 game/demo. Only a handful of PS3 games allow you to do that.

I think the reason that this makes news is that it is an additional feature for the PS3.

As others have noted it's a standard feature of the 360.

Unless someone can prove me wrong and it actually allows you to choose particular songs for each BG/menu etc, then i'm certain it just plays your selected songs in the background over the games music.

Also the 360 custom soundtrack doesn't cut off sound effects. If it does then it's because the developer has coded something wrong and stuffed up the way custom soundtracks works (eg allowing SFX on the channel meant for music/custom soundtrack).

In the same post you say it's AWFUL (it's not awful, it's awesome. I own a PS3 and I appreciate the feature), and you say X-Box already has it anyway so what's the exclusive part? It's just a bonus for the PS3, something the X-Box already had and you're calling it awful news? If you don't want to use the feature, don't use it, be my guest. It's not bad news for anyone, except you I guess.

No, there's no way it's gonna be that customizable. It's gonna be the exact same way as MK vs. DC.
I don't even think it's POSSIBLE to customize it that much. Heck, even the odd game where the custom soundtrack is accessed within a game (like Burnout Paradise) it's still not that customizable.

People need to stop posting that picture.

Upon learning of this confirmation, I ordered a copy of Mortal Kombat: The Album. Been meaning to get that for years, and what better excuse than to have Techno Syndrome playing in the background during a fight.

Amen. Still, overall, I think the Mortal Kombat Movie soundtrack makes for better 'fight music' than the Album. The album is awesome though.
