Put an audio disc you wish to import, into your ps3.

go to the disc on the XMB ps3 menu, hit triangle and select the "import" option.

Some games only allow playlists to be played, so you will ahve to create a playlist of imported songs.

If it works how it did in MK vs DC, il be 100% happy.

Oh no... Owning an X-box must suck right now. They are totally getting screwed over. Either WB is playing favours or Sony has put alot of money into this...

But who cares?! I got a Playstation 3! Woot! ^^

I'm not *certain* of this, but I believe it's Sony throwing the money around here, not NRS.
Consoles care about exclusivity a lot more than games do.

PS- not a huge fan of Kylie, but big props for giving an answer that isn't metal or rap. wink

For the 360 owners that don't know.... You can hit the guide button scroll right and find your music player. If you play tracks it mutes the in game music and plays yours. Exactly the same as ps3. I hate that they didn't mention both consoles because the very 1st xbox was the first ever console to have the feature. On 360 they connected it to the guide button so it works with virtually every game. It also worked on mkvsdcu. You guys have nothing to worry about.

Should be epic, although I am loving this current MK music, extra features are always welcome and I love how much effort they're putting into everything.

I can see it now:

Lady Gaga: "I'm Starstruck, baby cause you blow my heart up!" during Kanos's heart rip fatality.

A nice little tool. Doubt I'll be using it much, but I sure as shit am going to import parts of the MK movie soundtrack at some point. Fear Factory, KMFDM, and Traci Lords + Juno Reactor FTW.

Avenged Sevenfold "God hates us" is perfect for Fighting. But, Doesn't Xbox have in game music for ALL games? When I had one, I remember it did.

"God Hates Us" A.K.A the worst song on that album lol. "Welcome to The Family" would be great for a Noob Saibot Vs Sub-Zero video

God Hates us > all other tracks (Except Save me, Victim & Tonight the World Dies)

Anywho, where are people getting the idea that you can change the specific tracks for arenas? I'm pretty sure it's just the standard Custom Soundtracks option that many PS3 games have, that is to say:

You choose a track thats on your HDD, it plays instead of the BGM of the game (Menu or Arena). The sound effects, etc... will still be at a higher volume than the music, but unless you manually change the song at the beginning of each fight it will just play a continuous playlist as aligned on your XMB.

NetherRealm Studios has announced that the PS3 version of Mortal Kombat will take advantage of the now widely-used Custom Soundtrack feature! Gamers who want to play Mortal Kombat with their own playlists and pull off fatalities with their own background music can do so. Furthermore, this feature is now included in the PS3 demo, so you can get a taste of both the developer music and whatever you choose so that you can decide which you like better before the April 19th release.

No word yet on whether or not the XBOX360 version will receive the same feature, but we will update when that information becomes available.

Why does it seem, more and more each day, that Mortal Kombat (2011) is becoming a PS3 -exclusive game? (I know it ain't, don't start the crap.)

Has NRS striken some sort of deal with Sony or something?

Hopefully there would be a similar feature for the Xbox that doesn't drown out all the music.

Ah well..time to find the MK3 character select screen music and replace it with the current one(now only if they had the characters dancing around instead of just pictures,it would have been much better)

I hate to say this, but if the Xbox 360 doesn't get any love anytime soon, I'm going to be angry. Most likely we will also get this feature but who knows? It constantly seems like we are get shafted when it comes to this game. Its getting rather frustrating.furiousfuriousfurious

No sir. I'm not about to derail this thread with A7X banter, but at least to me, every song on that album > God Hates Us.

Best in my opinion = Welcome to the Family, Buried Alive, Nightmare, and Fiction.

All I am going to say is we 360 owners better start getting good stuff soon. Seriously wheres the love??? The PS3 owners keep getting exclusive stuff. All I know is that it's more than likely that we will get this custom soundtrack, but in the case we end up getting screwed on this. I'm done.furious

Top 5 Songs on the album are

-Welcome To The Family
-Nightmare
-So Far Away
-Buried Alive
-Fiction (I am starting to like this one more)

The rest of the album isn't even worth listening to.

But yes, aside from The A7X conversation this news is great. I can't wait to kick some ass to the Toejam & Earl Soundtrack. Anything but country music. Dear god, not country music

I'm so confused, Why are the 360'ers crying over a feature that they HAVE, and have had for years before the PS3?

Because the 360's custom soundtrack eliminates all sound from games and just plays your track over everthing (in most games at least). Some games still have dialogue but it doesn't pause the music automatically.
I.E- Sonic Adventure for the XBLA: The final cutscene after beating Perfect Chaos lines up perfectly with the song "Me Myself & I" by De La Soul, but it gets somewhat ruined with sonic & friends talking. Even the chaos and Chaos bump up and down perfectly to the music.

I have a PS3 also but never used the feature on this console so apparently it only comes in at certain times? Sounds good but I really hope the 360 gets the same deal.
