Im a bit on the fence as far as Skarlett is concerned.

I feel she is somewhat of a mishmash of Sareena/Nitara, which detracts from her being original. I feel the whole blood based power thing should be Nitara's. IHer costume also reminds me too much of a brotherhood of shadow female (Sareena, Kia, Jataaka), and while the costume is ok, its nothing amazing. There are better ones, but there are also a lot worse.

I am more interested in finding out her origins, baskstory, place within the MK universe etc.

I will probably still download her but I cant help feeling they have been a bit lazy in her design. Id much rather they had focussed on improving Khameleon or bringing back Sareena or Nitara than create this half-assed attempt at a new character.

I wouldn't call her too similar to Sareena, as I don't associate Sareena with throwing knives anyway. Sareena ought to have more demonic moves.

But the Nitara influence definitely isn't working for me. I don't mind that she turns into blood to teleport, or likes to spray blood on herself or whatever, I can dig the whole Elizabeth Bathory theme she's got going on there, it makes me interested in her origin story...but did I see her throw a ball of blood? I'm pretty sure I did. And that's just the dumbest projectile there's ever been. I hated it when Nitara spat one and I hate it now.

I dunno, I'm not impressed. Other than that, her moves just seem boring to me, all she seems to do is slices and uppercuts with her Taki-style little ninja swords. I generally prefer to see something more, I dunno, visually dynamic from special moves. She's striking me as a female Kano...if Kano didn't have the cannonball or laser eye at all ever.

Whil I wasn't a big fan of her outfit when I first saw her, I must say that it kinda works for her. She's an even bigger 'playful bitch' than Mileena is. She's over-confident and her outfit shows emphasises this. She knows she's hot and dresses for it.

As for her race, I wonder if she's some sort of vampire.

My point exactly - even though many are using fire as their source of magic, they don't feel like they're ripping off one another. They are using it in their own ways, making it unique. ^^

Agreed. What is it with NRS and this hokey move? Why couldn't we just have let it die with Nitara?

Also, I like Skarlet's look, I like the way she moves, but I'm going to get really sick, REALLY quick of "HYA HYA YRAAAA, HYA HYA YRAAAA, HYA HYA YRAAAA, HYA HYA YRAAAA, HYA HYA YRAAAA." Her voice is just about the most annoying thing I've heard in the game. It's worse than Liu Kang.

Her Xray is also very... underwhelming. I hope it's just a placeholder like mileena's was, but I doubt it.

I really like the look of Skarlet. I am starting to like her outfit a bit more now, and her special moves look good. I think she could have done without the blood ball though. Love her x-ray, heal to the eye, vicious!

It doesn't bother me if she seems similar to Nitara and Sareena, or that she may have taken their place as DLC. I never really cared for either of them.

I'll definately be getting her. Game needs a couple of extra females, and Skarlet will do nicely (with hopefully Tanya to follow)...

yeah thats the first thing i noticed about her...hopefully her voice will sound better in the final version of dlc.

I'm pretty impressed with Skarlet overall. She is "THE" ninja character in this game. Even more so than Scorpion, minus the blood powers.

-Intro scene is very sweet
-Her "yahhh" screams sound demonic / vampirish so it's cool to me
-Appearance wise, I like her alot. Just can't put my finger on it why lol
-Kunai specials are what I expected, fast and deadly
-Gameplay speed will make her one of the fastest characters in the game
-That throw move at 0:46 seconds where she stabs you in the trap then cuts away, very cringe worthy
-X-ray has to be one of my favorites, another cringe worthy feature about her
-Seen the neck blood fountain fatality leaked earlier and a lil too crazy, but I wonder what her "guyser" fatality will end up looking like.

The only thing I'm not too crazy about is the blood projectile, but I think it will grow on to me. Now if they tell us more about how she has these powers in her bio and ending, we will have a better understanding of how she came to be. Right now she is more interesting to me than Sheeva, Jade, and Sindel.

As far as Tag team is considered, she could fit right in with Kitana or Mileena.

i can deal with the yells, she looks faster then hell and her moves look fun to use, I think I found my tag team partner for Scorpion. Edit: on Second thought Team Burning Blood!

I like the blades and kunai throws but I wish she had more of a kunoichi design with loose pants and ninja shoes; I would be liking her much more.

That wouldn't really swim with the fan base, as much as I like that idea. I tried to draw Kitana in a more Kunoichi designed outfit before and the members here weren't keen on it. As much as I hate to say it, I think the team have realised that they're limited to drawing just skimpy babes.

Skarlet alternate costume is very "kunoichi" , a very good alternate !!

i dont see why everyone is complaining about her voice o.o it's nowhere close to being even half as annoying as liu kang(a buff man soundling like a 12 year old boy doesnt annoy you?)

I must say that while I'm loving Ms. Skarlet, the fact she lacks any speech during her intro is saddening. She joins the ranks of Reptile, Goro, Baraka, Kintaro and Shao Kahn.

Bruce lee and liu kang are both irritating I never got into Bruce Lee because he was fucking annoying same with Liu kang lol but skarlet doesn't sound as bad as them atleast she isn't a buff man sounding like a little girl with every fucking hit he makes. I guess that's what makes her far more tolerable :]
