So lets talk how Sheeva should be in MK9...

Sheeva should be sleek, yet still muscular, much like She-Hulk IMO, when it comes to her look. Her play style should, however, be more speed based. The gal has long legs, let her use them like she did in MK3.

Everyone saying Sheeva should be "nimble and graceful" like MK3. Which MK3 were you playing? Because as I remember it she looked like some kind of starfish tumbling around the screen when she'd do a combo, and her kicks looked like someone stretched one of the starfish's legs the wrong direction. Like they didn't know what they should do with her arms, so they were just left awkwardly sticking out from her shoulders while her legs flailed around.
She's a cool idea, but, like everything else in MK3, she was terribly implemented. Nimble and graceful are the last words I'd use to describe her. Hopefully, if we have to abide her being in the game, they'll actually make her likable this time around. I don't have much hope though, which is why I'm rooting for her to just be killed off.

Her looking stiff would be do to stop motion animation. The same thing would not occur in this game, if her play style from MK3 was copied. Or at least I would hope the MK devs would make her style look more fluid.

She was one of the biggest characters in the game, yet she could rush down everyone and bust out, not only extremely damaging combos, but extremely quick ones, I thought she was nimble. She had really long legs, that's why her legs looked longer. Graceful came from her victory pose(for me at least). Sheeva was created using a poseable model on stop motion, so I didn't expect her to look as fluid as a human actor, but that doesn't change how impressive she was in MK3.
Sheeva was done well in my view, she actually had a story, personality, and she showed that Shokans aren't mindless, blind servants of Shao Kahn, but honorable warriors, who will turn against even their emperor if they are disrespected or betrayed. I'm not above thinking that Sheeva could make improvements, but most people who don't want her in the game make no suggestions on how to improve her, it's usually just, "I hope they kill her off, I hate her". What can anybody say to that? Nothing because it doesn't leave room for refutation or a counter-argument. Every character can be improved, just killing a character off, just because is a waste/ loss of character diversity and creative character design.
I fail to see what was so horrible about MK3, it introduced an intricate combo system, it took a chance and decided to be different from "let's have another tournament again", it had a nice balance of returning and new characters etc. I've heard people say the lack of ninjas was an issues and the deviation from the "oriental" feel of MK but I still think the change was suitable for the game's premise and setting.

I completely agree with all of this.

The shokans are a tough race, sure enough, but that doesn't mean that Sheeva has to look like some man-beast with boobs. Take this pic for example:
Beautiful, lady-like....yet not above kicking your ass. Or, heck, take this one:
That pic...well...I just posted that mainly because both Kitana and Mileena look asian and sexy.
But the point still remains. Sheeva can be a tough and sexy fighter if enough effort is put into it. Make it happen NRS!

Not every female needs to be a sex symbol. It seems like every other one is so I think Sheeva should remain a monster. It makes her more unique being a female who doesn't care about being feminine. I just pray to God she's not wearing high heels.

I want her to look just like this;
If they ignore her Armageddon look entirely and aim for her MK3 look I'll be thrilled. Her old proportions were perfect. All three Shokan just looked weird in the last few games. Also, the Skin Rip is a must. She was a bit too slow and clunky in Armageddon too. In MK3, she had speed and some killer combos. I hope she's more agile in MK9.

PERFECT
I could not agree with you more.
Unfortunately, I have absolute faith in the Boon-led MK team to completely miss all of that and totally fuck it up.

I really liked Sheeva's look in MK Armageddon. She looked fierce and tough, yet her outfit gave her style. I don't want her to be another pretty little girl, she's a freaking monster and that's what makes her awesome! Not all female characters should look like models.
I love Sheeva's tan skin and her mohawk is so cool. She's rocking that look!
If anything should be improved on her it would ber her gameplay. I've always seen Sheeva as being spider-like with the way she moves and looks in MK3, but they went away from that in MKA.

And her winning pose in MK3 was gracious and noble, showing that there is more to her than simply being a monster.
They should make her more gracious in her gameplay, but still fierce and strong. We have Goro and Kintaro to be the big brute bosses, let Sheeva be less like that and more her own individual instead of simply being a female version of those two.

As I said, I still prefer the MK3 incarnation of her. She didn't have the polka dots then, or if she did, it wasn't so obvious. Longer limbs and more spidery. I agree we can leave the brute force to Goro and Kintaro. Let Sheeva be the more graceful but powerful Shokan.

She's my favourite character so i'm very eager to see what choices they make for her if she does indeed make it in.
As I've said in earlier threads, i liked her MK3 looks, slender and femininely curved, yet muscular and tough as hell looking.
Her winning pose was also extremely graceful, and that's how i think she should move, more like a dancer than a warrior perhaps.
Always hated the stupid little bikini though, didn't fit her whatsoever. With her strange appearance and species, I'd like to see her either naked, or in a tribal style of clothing.

I'm fairly neutral when it comes to Sheeva, so I wouldn't care all that much if she was cut. I wouldn't mind if she made it in either though, so long as she wasn't the only playable Shokan, and had a different playstyle than Goro and Kintaro. She could rely on combos more then her male counterparts, and have faster albeit weaker moves.

Kinky. I'd imagine NRS get away with nudity with tribal body paint. Makes me think of Tribal Sheva Alomar from RE5 which looked cool, but had a stupid bikini imo.

aesthetically speaking...please at least make her true to her species.
No supermodel face :) Goro doesn't rank high in the hunk department.
i'm guessing the shokan aren't going to win any beauty pageants anytime soon.
Goro is sans shoes ...I couldn't imagine sheeva wearing hooker boots! (cough)
(cough) sonya.

Heh, i didn't necessarily mean naked to look sexy, more to look wild and further marking her as one of the inhuman characters. We see Goro and Kintaro barely wear anything, it seems unlikely their culture cares about clothes like we do. Would just make her a little more shocking and savage looking to be stark naked, with something like tribal body paint.

Ooh bodypaint ftw!!!
I'd go for that. Though I think the MK team isn't that capable of pulling that such an exquisite design...
