I found it interesting that in story mode, when you're cyber sub-zero and you fight noob, there is no soulnado in the background at the graveyard, because quan chi never completed the spell.

More to add, based on Kenshi.

His first Fatality.

On Kano, the bionic doesn't come out. I wish it did to be honest.
On Kano on the different side, his real eye does come out (duh).
On Noob Saibot, the eye is all black, honestly I think it's covered in black blood, but still. Based on the selection picture, you'll think an all white eye would appear, so again, I'm thinking it's covered in black blood.
The Cyborgs like Cyrax, lol no eye comes out. Not that it should. Just saying.

Mileena says different things after her X-Ray. I think she's the only one that does that.
"Was it good for you?"
"Don't be mad"
"Hmmm did that felt good" (?) (I can barely make that one out since it's muffled with the BG music playing)

Rain's decapitation Fatality on a female, the head rolls off their tits and it jiggles. (lol >_
Challenge Tower, "I Hate Teddies"
I find that match to be cute.
Throughout the whole match she fights you while holding the stuffed teddy bear in one hand.
When you lose to Mileena, she throws the stuffed bear at your body while the text appears "TAKE IT!" (if I remember right).


Because of this post, I had to check it out for myself, and the detail to that is indeed interesting.



I love that sooo much, I feel like I'm in a hyperbolical time chamber or something from Dragon Ball Z.

Sorry for the major bump but I noticed a completely new thing:

If you and the opponent are at the right distance apart on the Rooftop day arena, the helicopter and dragon will go exactly between the fighters

I noticed a billboard in The Street and it was for the Special Forces.

Also noticed something funny: When Sub-Zero is talking to Sonya, if you look closely at the ice block, you'll see that it is Kratos! Since the block looks empty on the 360, I'm guessing it is likely Kratos.

The Cinematic director tweeted that Kratos wasn't in that block of ice.

This is probably more of a glitch, but I did Noob Saibots first fatality and ya know, the primary outfit of noob is with the hood and all that and the clone is like a darker version. To put all the obvious shit aside, I did that fatality and when he summoned the clone of him, it wasn't the regular dark inky version, it was the normal colored noob on the other side as well. I thought this was pretty damn cool.

That happens if you do that in Shang Tsung's Throne Room.

I liked how the metal arms Jax has were surgically implanted to him rather than actually being over his natural arms, and that we find out he lost them during MK2 to Ermac.

I also like how Sonya is talking to one of her superiors in her victory pose, if only we knew who that was on the other end.

Another thing I found quite interesting is that in each chapter the story was told only through that character's perception. For instance during Jax's Chapter he gets knocked out and wakes up in the aftermath of the entire fight between the Wu Shi academy and the Tarkata.

In the desert stage the fallen statue in the background is Sindel

-Kenshi's left eye can be seen if his blindfold is battle-damaged.

-Freddy Krueger seems to have Sektor's evil laugh. Do a comparison. In Tag-Team practice mode, pick Freddy and Sektor. When Freddy is tagged out, he will do the laugh he does in his intro, perform an EX Teleport Uppercut with Sektor and he will do his laugh. Compare Krueger 'n Sektor's evil laughs!

-Freddy also seems to have Cyrax's voice set, but modified. Like how Noob Saibot and Sub-Zero (Alternate Bi-Han costume) have the same voice set, but Noob sounds wraith'y. It is most easily noticed when you use any special that makes Freddy/Cyrax do the screaming they do when they get burned, let's use Scorpion. In Practice, use Scorpion to ignite Freddy/Cyrax with his Hellfire, do a comparison between Cyrax and Freddy's screaming and it is easily noticed.

I loved how the facial animation is tweaked a little to represent the way characters pronounce words :

I also loved the music thrown here and there, like when Raiden spoke with Scorpion after he defeated Kung lao and in the above link when Nightwolf speaks.

Kratos seems to have bits from Shao Kahn/Goro/Kintaro in his voice set.

Baraka extends his blades during stage fatalities.

I love seeing the AI characters swap into a green template when you get to the Reptile pit fight and then return to the character select screen...Sonya's green hair and pale face are fun to see, and Rain looks better in the dark green version of his outfit

Well I never noticed this at all, but Kano can be heard shooting his eye laser at Sonya Blade in Johnny's chapter of story mode.

Skip to around 4:25 and listen to the dialogue after Cage gets thrown off of the side of the pit. It's really cool.

The "Test Your Sight" Failed animations. Go do them.

Shang Tsung's fail is the best one, right next to Kung Lao, whose is very ironic.

I remember a video of Jax getting arrowed to the head, so I thought to myself a few days ago "What happens with everyone else?".

If you let the game go on IDLE during the Press Start screen. As usual you see the computer fighting each other. I think there's a proper term for this...

But what really interest me was the fact that it actually uses the DLC characters too. I walked in my room and saw that Freddy Krueger was fighting.

Fatalities that deals with arm dismemberment. Depends on whose Fatality, either the top of Sheeva's arms get dismembered or her bottom. I find this interesting because I'm surprised NRS didn't half-assed it by making, for example, her bottom arms get dismembered for ALL such Fatalities.

I dont know why, but i seem to care about the little stuff like the dialogue before the matcehs. I know this is extremely idiotic, but i had 3 copies of mortal kombat and chose Kung Lao, Sektor(Human version) and Sheeva all on 3 different tv's. I chose them at the exact same time and their responses were:
Sheeva-"For the Shokan!"
Kung Lao-"For the Shaolin!"
Human Sektor-"For the Lin-Kuei!"

I also care about how if you dont pick the human version, Sektor says something completely different!

I love the game and all of the thought that they put into making it. I know Warner Bros. made it, but I think Midway and Warner Bros. should collaberate on the next game!

One of the little things I like about the game is all the little details in the background of most stages.

The radio chatter in the Subway (and newspapers that read "We're so screwed!"), the bodies that wash ashore in the Wastelands, the way Cyrax sometimes appears in Jade's Desert, the bodies that get lowered in the Deadpool area, the battles being waged in both Kahn's Arena and The Street, the oni demons scouring for food amidst the limbs of victims at the Bottom of the Pit, fighters dueling in the background of the Pit and Shang's Garden, the writhing bodies of the damned and roaring cerberus in Hell, etc. So much personality to the stages themselves they're practically characters in their own rights.

In The Pit Day Stage, A meteor will hit the backround bridge and take a small chunk away with it.

It really is...and despite that and actually showing off the laser in the Bell Tower (against the army troops), that special still didn't make it as a regular move, enhanced attack, or even a Fatality.

What a shame. And how annoying.

A week ago I discovered Cyrax Enhanced Net drains your opponents meter. The CPU did it on me. That shit blew my mind. Who else does this shit!?

Oh yeah, Quan-Chi's Enhanced Trance does it too.

I noticed that a month or two after the game came out, pretty cool, too bad I don't use Cyrax or Quan Chi much.

Before a certain patch came, Sindel's scream could be countered by Cyber Sub-Zero's normal and EX Icy Counter.

Probably due to the lighting, Kratos' alternate costume is not black when playing in Shang Tsung's Gardens, night version. Kratos will be colored gray instead of black.

After defeating Shao Kahn with Kratos, during the beating up Kahn montage, Kratos' Blades of Exile will turn into the Blades of Athena, then turn back into the Blades of Exile after Shao Kahn blows up.
(Athena's Blades have the appearance of tarnished gold with red glyphs on the sides, while the Blades of Exile are gray with a burning orange web-like design on its sides.)

Kratos' Golden Fleece can counter Shao Kahn's Hammer Toss.

Rain's enhanced water bubble drains super meter too, I mained Rain and only discovered it last month as I hate putting meter on the water bubble.



Kratos' parry counters everything and I do mean everything combos, projectiles, throws, and makes non-damage projectiles come back with damage. I'm sure he could even counter the hand of god with that parry
