Rain is his real name. Unlike Scorpion, Subbie and Smoke, Rain is Edenian and they don't have the same name/codename system like humans do.

SOme other cool effect in the story is this:

Rain tries to be sneaky and triest to steal away Kahns loyal guards and minions one by one, three characters will believe his lies and end up secretly under his command.

Mileena, Kintaro and Reptile come to mind.

He gets them this far by telling them lies about his godly being and promises Kintaro to become the best of the Shokans under his command, Reptile his race back and Mileena to become his queen, all lies of course, he just uses them against Kahn and the others.

I *really* hope you're just talking about MK:A here.
His moves in MKT were *awesome*, even if some of them were hard to explain. His MKT moves are the sole reason you've seen my Rain rants here.
I wouldn't mind them giving his MKT moves more of a water/storm theme (see my post for my ideas there), but the kick-around-the-world and body-controlling-projectile were *extremely* creative moves for their time,
and are still some of the most memorable attacks in any fighting game, IMO.

In MKA, he played like a watered-down (har har) Liu Kang.

When do you think DLC characters will be put up? A few weeks after the game comes out?

Think I remember hearing Kenshi and Skarlet would be in May.
I say Rain should be before them... April Showers and whatnot

I'd say the first batch of DLC will come out around a month after the game. So Mid-May.

IF theres a second batch. Maybe another month. Hope its sooner though.

I would bet Six Parsons of Space Cash there will be more than one round of DLC. Ed's recently dropped *numerous* Rain hints on Twitter, and he rarely mentions characters at all, unless it's highly questionable things like "Bo Rai Cho's X-Ray". Dropping really heavyhanded hints, seemingly to stem the tide of Rain fanboy rage, seems like all but a dead giveaway to me. I also doubt they would reveal *all* of the DLC characters before the game's even out

At this point, it's more a matter of guessing who will show up with Rain-
Shinnok? Robo-Smoke? Tanya?

OMG if Rain gets announced tonight I will pass out. But hey won't get my hopes up to high!

As I said in the Fujin thread, the top 5 DLC for me would've been Rain, Kenshi, Fujin, Tanya, & Sareena. So I'm praying that Kenshi/Scarlett/Rain/Tanya/Shinnok/Robo Smoke aren't the only DLC characters we'll get. Hoping Fujin & Sareena make the cut.

I wish he get revealed soon so all this damn anticipation and anxiety will be over. Tbh, I would like for them to talk about all the DLC characters they have planned at the moment as well as tell us if they get bios/endings and alternates too.

Funny- if I were to pick two extra characters, it would be those same two.
(*MAYBE* Reiko instead of Sareena, but all three would be best )

Ugh me too because it's starting to getting old teasing Rain's inclusion back and forth. I do hope they announce more than Rain as well so I can get a feel for what to expect gameplay wise. I'd sure hope they have Bios and Endings if not I'd be super pissed!
